The Noble South
Like to treat my family to lunch there so I have a reason to eat there !
Two of us had the grouper and one of us had the redfish. We were quite pleased--
Food is good. Menu is interesting. Service was attentive. Overall, a good experience.
Great food and service and fun atmosphere! One of our favorite "go to" places.
The food is so good it will make you clap.
Noble South was recommended a year ago, and we loved it so much that I booked it several weeks out for our trip this year! Did not disappoint. Anything tomato dish ( different this year) is a MUST TRY as was the Squash Blossom, the Banana "Pudding" ( because it's more decadent ice cream than pudding) and the Pecan Tart with homemade dark chocolate Ice Cream.... Noble South, you have my Arizona heart.
Had a nice quiet lunch with friends on a Monday afternoon. Cucumber said and LA caviar were particularly outstanding. Definitely recommend!!!
I always enjoy eating here.. Don't always love everything i order.. it is very different and eclectic.. but always interesting and fun. One of my very favorite places to go.
Talented chef. Fantastic lunch prices. Bright, fun spot!
I am working in Mobile on a project that has me here every week for a year. Noble South has now become the restaurant of choice for bringing colleagues and friends who visit the project. This was my 3rd visit and each has been delightful both for the server/service and for the food. To be honest, the food here is among the tastiest I have had anywhere around the world. I highly recommend several plates to share around the table. After this visit I can attest to the pepper jelly, softshell crab, deviled eggs, gator bites and squash blossoms. I had quail this trip which was very good though as good (just in my taste not not the creation) as the rabbit dumplings I had last trip that were sadly no longer on the menu. The menu just change somewhat regularly so it's a good place to come back to. I will.
This is our second time dining at the Noble South for Sunday Brunch. The food and dining experience is so great that we have decided to make it a Sunday morning tradition whenever we are in Mobile!
My favorite place in Mobile!
Love the food, love the wait staff - it's the best!
Excellent service and excellent food!
I had been recommended this restaurant by some friends who are food connoisseurs. The food did not disappoint. I’ve lived in Mobile for only 1.5 years, but this is the best meal I’ve had here by far.
Noble South is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. If I am eating in Mobile and have 1 meal, it will be at Noble South. The staff is very friendly/helpful, the bar brings fresh & inventive libations, and the chef has the kitchen playing tilt-a-whirl with your taste buds - mixing traditional favorites with unique ingredients and interesting flavor/textural highlights.
We enjoyed our date night at The Noble South. Emily our waitress was amazing and very informative on the menu and food choices. Overall a very great experience our first time and will return again!
Pleasant dining room. Not dressy. Not too loud. Food was prepared and presented well. Pickled shrimp must be an acquired taste, but we will try them again. The pork cheeks and snapper plates were excellent. For dessert we had carrot cake which was sort of disappointing. Dry and overly flavored with cloves. The mango ginger ice cream was heavenly. They said they’d comp our beer because their keg blew and we didn’t get a full pour but we ended up with it on the bill and we pAid for it
Overall, a very good first experience. Our reserved table was ready and waiting, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Gator bites were the best I've ever had, and my first time eating rabbit was very enjoyable. Love the local farm to table philosophy of dining. The prices are a bit high (for us, anyway) for regular mid-week dining out but a very nice choice for a special occasion (in our case, Mother's Day). However, to be fair, the menu is online and clearly shows the prices, so you know what to prepare for if you use that resource first.
Service and food was excellent. Would very much recommend.
First time at Noble South in downtown Mobile and was not sure what to expect but had wanted to try it for some time now.
The menu was a bit light with choices but the choices were interesting and as our waitress, Hannah told us, everything is farm to table.
Atmosphere is unique in that the room has 2 story ceilings and is long and narrow ....maybe a little more color and accessorizing would brighten things up.
My wife started with the chicken pate and enjoyed it...I also had a taste and the texture was smooth and not too grainy. I when with a barbecue soft shell crab which was a bit overwhelmed by the barbecue and bacon sauce to really enjoy the crab.
Main course were good not great....wife ordered the duck and was not happy with the overcooked version. I went with red snapper which was a bit small in portion but grilled to perfection and enjoyable.
No deserts were had but drinks were....french 75s for wife and a nice chardonnay for me.
Not up to top notch level of dining but I would consider going back .
Hannah was a delight and very attentive, informative as our server.
In Mobile for opening of Urban Wild at the AL Museum of Contemporary Art. Randomly chose the Noble South and was not disappointed. Appetizers- pickled shrimp and deviled eggs were scrumptious. The vegetable plate was just OK but the mahi-mahi and duck were delicious. Our server was great and we left happy!
Very fine farm to table food. Some you might need to be daring to try. Will definitely go again.
Great service and food! We will go back for sure. We had business guests in from Europe and they were impressed.
The fish was outstanding, both the Mahi Mahi and the red snapper. The pecan tart with bourbon ice cream was excellent.
Oh Noble South, you used to be our favorite restaurant downtown. That changed Saturday night. There was a large birthday gathering booked at the same time we were there. They were seated on the high tables and stools in the middle of the restaurant. We were seated next to the wall at a 2-top. There was only a narrow passage between our table and the backs of the high stools. Wait staff was having difficulty getting through. Our ambiance was a wall on one side and a row of butts right at eye level on the other. The food was great, but it was hard to enjoy, being boxed in like that. I know large groups are essential to restaurant business, but it would have been much better if the high table grouping was moved to the front window and we had the lower tables next to us. Sorry, but next time we'll try someplace else.
Best food in a long time for me and fabulous service. Thank you Ashley!
Splurge and try the steak...wonderfully flavorful and cooked to perfection.
Delicious! If you want creativity and a unique dining experience, this is the place to let your taste buds run wild. Truly imaginative meals!!
This was a special anniversary and the meal was truly celebratory! The chef features local farm fresh ingredients, and the quality makes such a difference. The buttery sea bass was delectable, perfection with colorful a colorful medley of veggies in the sauce. The rabbit with featherlight dumplings was way more than I could finish. The baby carrots were so sweet with just a welcome bit of tooth. Generous pour of house Syrah and Beaujolais, exceptional reds. Attentive friendly service. We'll come again!
Our out-of-town guests thoroughly enjoyed Noble South. Great drink menu and interesting food menu. Our server, Ashley, was wonderful!
It's really nothing special...good, but not worth the menu prices and the after eating there twice, I doubt I'll return.
Food was great.
We love Sunday brunch here. We love the food and especially all the staff especially our Emily!!!
We were next door where the volume is low and the conversation is super. Very nice experience before the Joan Baez concert.
The food was a wonderful experience. They even had a wheat-free dessert, a cake with fresh strawberries that was a pleasant surprise from the usual creme brûlée that most restaurants offer those with diet restrictions. The fish, which both I and my partner had to eat was so fresh and perfectly cooked. Even the salad was revelatory! So good it might be worth another trip from our New Orleans home very soon!
Both the small plate softshell crab and the Rabbit and dumplings were excellent. The pickled shrimp and pepper jelly were good as well. Second trip here first was better!
The food is consistently great! Love the ever changing menu.
We had an appetizer- Pickled Shrimp, and small plate-Softshell Crab. Both were excellent. The cocktails were good. Once we got used to the plastic chairs and the noise, it was a fun evening.
Our dinner was delicious and very reasonably priced for the quality of the food we received. The wine list is not extensive but plenty to chose from that were very good. Service was very good and loved the banana pudding semi-fredo. I enjoyed the dinner much more than several local places that are much more expensive. I would highly recommend Noble South.
Emily our server was very personable knowledgeable and helpful
We ended up sitting at the bar, great choice, the service was excellent.
