Menu is simple but the food was good. The drinks were fantastic, and they have a great selection too. The service was also very good, our waiter EJ was awesome, and it’s a very cute restaurant fitting the theme of the hotel nicely.
Excellent Pork Chop with pureed sweet potatoes & grilled aspargus. Short rib burger was delicious as well. Cocktails were made well and quickly served.

It took quite a while to get checked in. I got seated at my preferred location, a table! The mngr who seated me got my water, but then I had to wait an extremely long time for a server to get a drink order and more again for a food order. Peach Salad was nice. Again a long wait so I had to leave to add time to pkg meter. The short rib had quality issues (too much fat) so the manager paid for my drink. Dessert was also good. Overall there are timing & food issues, but those can be fixed.
Excellent food and libations. Courteous and accommodating service. The kitchen happily modified the menu for us based on being short on some items.
The food was absolutely dy-no-mite! The atmosphere was upscale and the service was top notch. It was a bit pricey.

Great service, delicious food
I felt safe in times of covid and every food and drink delivered was great. I wish the menu was broader, but Cisco took great care of us and we never felt lacking.
Took the family for the Valentines Day special menu - ended up with a $400 bill for 4, overcooked risotto with one piece of lobster on the top, steak not medium rare, finished with $25 chocolate covered strawberries- 4 tiny strawberries but the chocolate was really good. Place was nearly empty and we had to get up twice to find a waiter - wait time in-between courses over 20 mins. Won’t be heading back there....ever.
Really wanted to like this place. We came here the night before Valentine’s Day for their special 3 course menu. We ordered the first course which was a charcuterie board but we took two bites and sent it back. It came out on 3 different plates and each plate was very scarce in spread, so they could have easily made a very nice presentation if they had just combined everything to one plate... But for the high price of a charcuterie board we expected a much higher quality and presentation.
We were then told that one of the two entree specials for the evening (which we planned on ordering) was already sold out, and the other option was fish and chips. Who wants to order fish and chips for a romantic special occasion like Valentine’s Day? We ended up ordering entrees from their normal menu, which also only has 5 options and they were not at all what I would have expected for a place like this (a panini and a flatbread, really?) the salmon risotto was good, but the burger had zero sauce on it and when we asked for some type of sauce or aioli for it she said she had ranch or hot sauce...weird. Overall, nothing amazing.
I will say the drinks we ordered were the highlight of the entire dining experience, even though they took awhile which seemed to be the theme of the evening. We could also tell from the moment we were seated that the tables around us were already very unhappy so that initially set a poor tone for the evening. Our server was nice but not very attentive and hardly came by. When we asked what she recommended since the special was sold out she said “well my dad is a rancher so I don’t really like any of our meats compared to his, I’d get the beet wellington because it’s vegetarian” which was a very odd suggestion in my opinion but oh well. We also were brought our check without even being offered dessert, which was weird because who doesn’t love to order dessert for Valentine’s!? Overall experience was meh and will likely not be coming back unfortunately.
Service was really bad. Waited almost an hour just for charcuterie and 30 minutes for a glass of wine and then they added $2 extra for my glass of wine to our tab.
A place that used to be a wonderful location for food and ambiance was ruined by a cocky and rude bartender. However, I'm willing to return since Valentine's Day weekend can always be stressful on the account and staff.
Granted we dined on the Saturday before Valentines, the heaviest restaurant day of the year, so that may have affected our experience. However, the food menu offerings are very limited, the food itself was just average, but served almost cold. Service was very slow (probably affecting food temp).

Our waiter was rude and pushy. The food was very underwhelming/overpriced. I got a special of the evening that was served with polenta, the polenta was completely flavorless. The fire alarm went off during our meal and they said it was not an emergency so we waited it out, after over 5 minutes of the fire alarm blaring we finally were escorted outside in the cold/rain and not told anything about the situation. We asked our waiter if we could get a discount and just leave since we couldn’t even finish our meal and he said... “what do you expect me to give everyone a discount?”
I’d expect better customer service from a hotel restaurant that makes patrons sit through a blaring alarm with mediocre/overpriced food.

My husband and I love unique and well-prepared foods and The Nickel is an exceptional option. We had delicious duck tartar, scallop & coppa carpaccio, and an exquisite leg of rabbit. Our server was charming, helpful and had perfect timing. We look forward to another lovely dinner at The Nickel!

We had attended a champagne tasting at the Nickel in January. We decided to have dinner there before a show. We didn't realize it was Restaurant Week when we made the reservation. The menu was amazing with so many choices. We all ate too much but managed to stay awake for the play! ;) Service, food and wine recommendations were on point! thank you
The food was delicious - my wife had the house made pasta bolognese and I had scallops. A friend had the lamb pops and there were three fairly large pops a nice appetizer, I will go back to try that. The fried pumpkin ravioli dessert was fun, playful and delicious -I will have that again next visit. The small lobby room next to the restaurant was a great place to sit and chat after the meal - we had coffee and spend another hour. Seems like the perfect place to go before or after theater.

This was my second attempt at brunch at the Nickel. I had hoped the lousy experience the first time was an anomaly but no so.
The food here is mediocre at best. I got the pork belly hash, which was just a combo of diced white sweet potatoes with no seasoning, about 10 pieces of pork belly and 2 eggs sitting on top. Then there were four whole peppers flanking the bowl/plate. How are you supposed to eat that?
My friend got french toast which was three pieces of bread and no side item.
This rather lackluster, basic food preparation took 40 minutes to deliver to our table. There's just no excuse for that for anything on a brunch menu.
Disappointed again. Won't be returning.
This was a spectacular dining experience! Great food, Moe was a phenomenal member of the wait staff, and the pace was perfect. Highly recommend
Been here several times, food is consistently good but service has been consistently slow.
The entrees on the winter menu are (all but one) game - elk, venison octopus, wild boar. This doesn't offer any choice for the non-game customer and especially for someone who isn't a heavy meat eater. We'll have to wait for the spring menu to decide if we come again.
Had brunch at The Nickel this weekend and let me tell you, it was amazing! The initial reservation process left something to be desired but upon my reservation chef Ian sorted it all out and turned things around. Arriving for brunch I was promptly greeted and shown to my table by the friendly host. Our waiter was friendly and diligent. The bartender was a familiar face and still preforms at a top notch level. Everything that came out of the kitchen was spectacular! There were no complaints at the table and mostly clean plates, Ian you out did yourself. 10:10 will visit again.
Good food but very pricey! Be prepared to spend a lot!

The Nickel was once an outstanding restaurant but has clearly gone in the wrong direction. We have eaten there twice in the last two months, and both times the food was obviously off base.
