The Nest Ratings and Reviews
The place was very loud as they had a DJ in `1 room and a Live Band in the other. We were sitting right in the middle of both rooms and service was not good. Needless to say, we ate and left immediately. Though we were going to a Piano Bar/Restaurant not a Night Club.
We got a reservation for early Thanksgiving Dinner and were shown to a great booth. They had been serving since noon and the place was pretty full. Really great people-watching!
Had a friend k and their great bread and were completely unhurried.
We both had the traditional turkey dinner, which was hot and delicious but there were so many other choices and they all looked great coming out of the kitchen!
Service was very nice, and we enjoyed a bottle of wine that was recommended by the waiter.
Dessert was pumpkin pie which tasted like home made.
The owner Dodi was there with a big fun table of family and she got up from her table each time a new table was seated and greeted them and checked on every tables dinner the entire time we were there.
Very nice touch, especially on a holiday when they would do 500+ covers!
Small but nice note, even the busboys and the valets were remarkably nice!
We had a lovely Thanks giving dinner at the Nest with three generations of our family. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the Thanksgiving dinner menu selection provided options for those that didn't want the traditional turkey dinner. We were seated in the back room which was perfect for our large gathering and quiet enough to have a conversation with our large group. We would definitely return to The Nest on our next visit to Rancho Mirage.
This was our fourth time to the Nest for Thanksgiving dinner. Which prior to this year was always exceptional. The carrot soup was Very Heavy garlic, the dressing was full of carrots and no real flavor, the presentation of the food on the plate was rather sloppy. Nothing was quite up to par. Not sure about next year if we will give The Nest a try again or not.
We went for Thanksgiving lunch and were very pleased. The food, service, and atmosphere were all great! We were 4 adults and 2 children. The owner came around with a small happy (stocking stuffer type toy) for the kids which was very unexpected and fun. The service was great! We asked if the server could take our 7 year old’s plate back and give him turkey without gravy and she was very sweet about it. Overall it was a really lovely dining experience and we would definitely go back and recommend it to others. The prime rib steak was outstanding and 12 ounces of meat so my husband got to enjoy his leftovers the next day - which he declared was even better the second day!
Vibrant and lively venue with good food (although quite pricey) enjoyed it but did not appreciate having a big screen tv with football playing in the restaurant. It was an upmarket venue but this made it feel like a sports bar with table cloths.
Loved the music.
The dining room, service, menu, and meal was excellent. Unfortunately the after hours music in the bar area was not nearly to the standard of previous visits. We were very disappointed as we had raved about The Nest to the 8 guests were were entertaining. No one was impressed with the Euro disco thumping music. We missed the great dance music we had experienced on so many past visits. We left early and went elsewhere. But service in the bar was superb as always. The staff is great.
Had the Sunset Dinner Double pork chop. I asked for it to be medium rare. The chop came out well done and dry. I couldn't even nd swallow it. I asked to have it taken back which they kindly did and again bring me a juicy med rare. Second chop came out almost the same as first, to well done and dry. I did not ask to have it redone correctly as my other 3 guests at our table were done eating. Very disappointed .
We enjoyed the delicious food and excellent service. They made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. We had the Sole Piccata, Filet Mignon and the Porcini Ravioli. All of it was cooked perfectly. We loved that the owners were present and friendly, and that they interacted with guests and staff, that is so nice to see nowadays. They checked on us to make sure we were enjoying our experience, we felt like they really cared and wanted us to know it. We will definitely be back and highly recommend. 👍👍
Although I checked "quiet", it is quiet before the music starts at 7. That said, it still doesn't get too loud in the dining room and I find it enjoyable to hear the bar music in the dining room. The bar would be a little more to the louder range. We went for the early bird dinner and not only was the food delicious, but the price is excellent! Plus you get soup or salad and desert with the early bird meals. We also ordered escargot. It is to die for!! A must if you love escargot. The dining room was decorated beautifully for halloween. Not goulish, just cozy and elegant. This is one of our "go-to" restaurants when we are in town.
