All was great except it was too loud in the room to the right .
Great environment and great food. I was pleasantly surprised!
I enjoyed my meal at The Nest the queso and smoked wings are things you must try!
Ribs were dry... brisket was very fatty... deviled eggs were rubbery. Service was lackluster... noted “Special Occasion” in the reservation, and there was no recognition. Date night lasted 45 minutes. Dinner out before appetizers were barely started. Very disappointing.
The pork rinds are awesome!
Simply the best brisket and ribs. Good every single time!
The Nest is a quaint little restaurant. It was too cold for outside seating but I am sure that would be a great choice if it was warmer. Food was really good. We will definitely go back!
It is a great location for Happy Hour after work. The beer selection is excellent and the appetizers are good, especially the pork rinds. However, this trip was for lunch and I was not impressed. I had the pulled pork plate and tried all the barbeque sauces. None of them had much flavor.
Found this for a last minute get together and couldn’t have been better! Will definitely go back just to eat and hang out. Especially in warmer months great outdoor seating and in general one of my ATL favorites!!
It was okay. I was hoping for delicious!
The seating was cramped and the chairs very uncomfortable!! Was surprised that a casual BBQ place has $9 glasses of wine (all varieties)
Probably won't go back.
Food was great. Service was good. Restaurant was more casual than I thought it would be. This is a barbecue place with paper towels and metal plates. Good beer selection. Outside bar seating area looks like it would be fun but raining when we were there.
I was very happy that their handicap parking wasn't something thrown together like many restaurants in the area. I loved the ramp up and the option to take steps if needed. The deck was convenient and very well maintained. I didn't explore the inside of the restaurant, and I should have but that will be for another day. They were very quick with a response to my DM via Yelp and that to me shows attention to detail.
I guess my only gripe were the multiple dogs hanging out with their owner's. I understand its outside on the deck, but its a restaurant, not a kennel or your friend's house. If they aren't Service Animals, then leave them at home.
I will definitely be back but it will probably be at a different time.
Visiting the area - took a chance at this "neighborhood" place - SO GLAD we did - Pulled pork was EXEPTIONAL - MOIST - TENDER - FLAVORFILL - Fries - great taste - Baked Beans - very good flavor - had 2 beers - Milk Stout Loved it - - Choco Pumpkin good choice also - Sat on the porch - nice evening - will make sure to stop here on the next visit to the area
We took a 6 year old. He was handed a coloring page with a hashtag and he thought he was so cool being on the internet.
Then we ate and realized we were wasting all this important time in our lives on bad bbq. We know now how to measure.
The beer selection is great as well.
We will be back.
last August 2017 while we were there that they cud not get quality salmons special for us. Naturally we were disappointed but fish tacos were good. Others were mild spicy. Our server was awesome friendly.
I did ask first before to come over to eat cuz of dog friendly that I am afraid of dogs & rather not eat with dogs. They told me that dogs were required to be leashed all the time & outside on the porch only, no inside restaurant.
After we ordered our foods, a few minutes ago, we saw a male bringing his dog inside toward the kitchen. We were planning to tell our server to cancel the order immediately cuz we thought no dogs inside the restaurant but he left with his dog out immediately. We told our servers abt that guy with dog inside. She did tell him that he was not supposed to bring his dog inside cuz he wanted to show his cute dog inside the kitchen. that was not santisaty to have dogs in the kitchen. We appreciated our server to tell him not suppose to bring the dog inside. we enjoyed our very sweet server.
We had 2 salads with honey mustard dressing on sides, 1 fish tacos & 1 pull bbq brisket without bbq sauce due to hot spicy bbq sauces.
nice old 2 houses together with open middle porch. old fireplace.
We will not go back as we do not eat hot spicy foods.
We had a party of 10 and the staff and our server treated us welcome guests rather than a burden, which large parties can be. Easy to order and food was served fast and hot. Best of all...BBQ was terrific! Looking forward to going back.
Decent selection of beers on tap, but ran out of 1st beer selection (Dry County Namesake). Shrimp taco special was bland, and the "pico" was very watery and without flavor. Ribs were way over cooked and very very dry. Sauces (especially spicy) were good. Gouda Mac & Cheese was luke warm. The smoked chicken queso was really good and the best part of the meal.
Really good food! However, I will likely not go back until they do something about the flys. I have eaten both inside and outside and they are bad no matter where you eat at this place.
The food really tasted good. Pork rinds were fantastic! One exception: the youngster with us ordered a grilled cheese that wasn't really a grilled cheese. It was two pieces of Texas toast onto which the cheese sauce they use for the mac-n-cheese had been spread. Mushy and icky. My guests got huge portions of the brisket, but I got two small slices of chicken on Texas toast for a "sandwich."
The server was pleasant but it seems like she wasn't really into serving us and the environment was dirty. Condiment bottles on the table looked like they'd never been wiped off. Squished dead fly on top of one. Roll of paper towels had countless dirty finger prints on the top from other patrons as did the beer menu. Maybe there are better ways of providing these so that customers don't have to touch something dirty. This is the third (and last) time I've been here, and every time my first choice beer is not available. And, the beer is just too expensive.
Was considering making the Monday night trivia a regular plan with friends once it starts up, but no more.
Service was horrendous. Food is very mediocre at best. Server acted as though we were invisible when he did decide to come into our area. Took forever to get drink order and even longer before he came back to take food order. Never saw him again until he brought the check.
We went on a rainy Saturday afternoon and it was quiet inside the bar area. They had tons of different beers to try and as someone who is not a beer person I found a few that I enjoyed all reasonably priced. We had a few appetizers including the smoked wings and chicken egg rolls, but the best of the bunch were the fresh pork rinds. As far as entrees go you have got to try the brisket tacos. They were absolutely phenomenal.
Good smoked meats. Outdoor dinning is nice but it was too hot for us. We had a nice table inside
We have been here multiple times and once again the service, food and ambiance were perfect. Each time we have family visiting we come here. We had the wings and egg rolls for starters and then had the brisket and ribs. Spot on. Overall this was a fantastic meal.
Beer selection is great. Food was delicious and service was wonderful. Love this place, will visit again.
The nachos with brisket are wonderful, but beware they put wax paper down and it could become part of your nacho. The smoked wings, pimento cheese, and collard greens were wonderful! The ribs tasted like they had been heated up on thursday and served to us on saturday. Very dry and very dissapointing. The beer selecrion is great!
Not that we need yet another BBQ joint...but thought to try b/c of good reviews. Went on a Wednesday eve, sat on patio. We were asked to move from the table we sat at (b/c it was furthest from live music). Hum. Flies everywhere. Food was mediocre. Nothing special. Had eggrolls - overcooked. Could not taste pimento cheese inside. Had ribs - dry. Brisket - okay. Mac and cheese - underseasoned. Lima beans - overcooked. Slaw - no tang or sweetness. To top it off - their sauces are watered down. Cheap. Best part of meal was the beer! Good selection of craft beers. Would return for beer and to try their tacos.
Service was dreadful. First round of drinks came out promptly, but second round didn't come out until after we were done with our food, about 20 minutes after the owner took our drink order. They ran out of Chardonnay and one of the beers we were drinking, and didn't have any more kegs to replace them. Wasn't really a big deal but the owner said "I don't like sweet wine so I don't order a lot of it," which came off pretty arrogant.
Appetizers came out with the food, 25 minutes after ordering them. Chips for the Queso were burnt and only had enough for 2 people. Chips ran out a quarter of the way through the bowl of Queso. Chips/flatbread for pimento cheese was stale and also only had enough for about half of the cheese. Ribs were chewy, pork was chewy. Tacos were okay but pretty flavorless. Mac and cheese was worse than microwaved Kraft. We had 8 people in our group with a $230 check, all but one said they'll never be back. If you want well priced good food with decent service in downtown Kennesaw, go to Pisanos or Trackside.
Went to the nest with my father for lunch on a Saturday. Place was not super busy probably due to the holiday weekend but steady. Our waiter was friendly but not real sharp or attentive. Got our bill mixed up with the table next to us. Manager came to fix it but still couldn't figure out that I was shorted $4.00. Not a big deal by any means but was a bit surprised how he just kinda blew it off and that the waiter never came back by to apologize. So, I thought the place was a cool outdoor atmosphere but wasn't really that impressed with anything else. The BBQ was pretty similar to most BBQ places
Service was very good. I was a server/bartender for 13 years, and I have NEVER seen a restaurant that, "new/getting its name out", charge someone "not authorized by customer" for a Birthday dessert! The food was good not great but what a disappointment on the customer service by the manager! I am disgusted at the customer service. I will NEVER be back, and the manager didn't seem too upset about it either. Good food but customer service by the manager Is TERRIBLE!!!
2nd time dining here and just as the first, the food was absolutely amazing, customer service awesome... i will continue dining here. Love the atmosphere and environment. Ate on the patio, cool breeze with the fan, it was awesomeeee.
I have been to The Nest a couple of times now. The first time was during their anniversary weekend, and it was a mess. It was not the kind of visit that I wanted to base a review about. We re-visited this past Mother's Day, and all was wonderful. The outdoor seating was nice, service was outstanding, and the food was cooked perfectly. They have great BBQ and an extensive beer menu. I would highly recommend this restaurant, and I do not do that very often.
This is a cute place to eat outside. Friendly, casual service. The chicken queso is very good and so are the wings and baked beans. The BBQ just wasn't my favorite. If you want a night out to share appetizers in a very relaxed outdoor setting, this is a good place to go!
We had a mixed experience. We were having a group get-together and chose The Nest for the opportunity to sit outside. We didn't expect live music and, while he was very good, it made conversation all but impossible. The onion rings were doughy and our waitress was very apologetic and brought us fresh ones but they were the same way. I wouldn't order them again. The servings are ample and most everyone in my group enjoyed their food. I don't know if I'd give it another try or not.
Every time we have visited The Nest, everything is amazing. From the food, to the beer selection, to the service. It never disappoints.
The Nest is one of our favorite places to go. The food is always delicious and the beer selection is top notch. Staff is always courteous and helpful. If you like great food and great beer....this place is a must visit.
They were CLOSED! We had to find a different place for 14 people on Easter Sunday! That is an impossible task.
I had even called the restaurant to ask about changing from 1:15 to 1:00, and still was not told they were going to be closed. They told me to stay at 1:15.
When I questioned the manager on Monday about receiving a list of reservations from Open Table, he said yes.
I was very disappointed that they did not call me.
We made reservations and when we arrived at the restaurant, they were closed. Four additional people had shown up with reservations too.
We made a reservation over a week in advance and arrived at the restaurant only to find the place closed for Easter. I even received 2 confirmation emails for the reservation. I don't know if open table or the Nest is to blame but regardless, this was a terrible experience. We had to wait over an hour at another restaurant because the restaurant we had reservations for was closed.
The food has gone down hill in a bad way since opening last year. The pork is greasy and the sides are dry. On a good note, the beer selection is strong.
My book club, The Chicks Who Get Lit, read a book called The Nest. Obviously, the perfect place to meet was The Nest! It was a first time visit for most members, and I'm sure they will be repeat customers.
