We waited over an hour past our reservation time. When we finally sat down, the manager offered us champagne and caviar! We were happy that they noticed we were waiting for a long time and wanted to compensate for our time. We did tasting menu. First few courses (butter that came with bread was on point!) were great but their main dishes need some improvements. Pork jowl was almost burnt, the duck was meh, and wagyu beef was better than duck but not worth extra $30. Ambience was nice, but I definitely didn’t feel that it was enough for the price.

Stella (Wine director) and Peter our server made the night very warm and welcoming! The Valentine’s Day dinner had hits and neutrals but left us excited to try the regular tasting menu one day in the near future!

The food was excellent. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable, but the other staff didn’t seem to know the table numbers so food was often dropped at the wrong table and servers seemed to be roaming around the dining rooms with dishes a lot. Made for an uneven tempo of service. The Sommelier was not very friendly. Otherwise, a great experience.

The space is well spaced and you have room between tables to where you don’t overhear the conversations next to you. The staff are super attentive without being always there. And the food is just excellent with perfect portion sizes.

Overall, the food was good, decent wine pairings, although my partner could not eat her main course (a large chunk of charred mushrooms in a white sauce). The waiter looked at her full plate and simply commented ‘I hope you liked it’. There was a cold draught at our first table at the front of the restaurant, however, we were kindly offered a new seat towards the rear end of the room. Two minutes after serving the main course, with most of the wagyu beef still on the plate, the waiter interrupted our conversation, asking if we were ‘still working’. Come dessert, no coffee or tea was offered, and instead we were presented immediately with the bill and almost whisked away. A baffling conclusion to a <2hr ‘romantic’ Valentine’s dinner priced at +500 USD!

Disappointed by The Musket Room – Not the Special Experience We Hoped For We dined at The Musket Room for a special occasion, hoping for a memorable meal, but unfortunately, we left questioning our choice. Opting for the omnivore tasting menu with cocktails, the evening had a promising start but ultimately fell flat. Let’s start with the positives—service was excellent, and everyone was warm and welcoming. The cocktails, Messina Sour and Panda Station, were both delicious and well-crafted. Among the food, the caviar and pork jowl stood out as the highlight of the meal. However, the rest of the experience left much to be desired. The sourdough bread was great, but the anchovy butter was divisive—definitely an acquired taste. The tuna tasted no better than what you’d find in a supermarket, and the clams were laughably small—barely two on the plate if you were lucky. The duck and steak were fine but entirely forgettable, and the wagyu—at a steep $30 upcharge—was far from worth it. The biggest disappointment, though, was the dessert. The texture was reminiscent of a stale marshmallow Peep, and the flavor was even worse. We took one bite and couldn’t bring ourselves to finish it. Overall, we truly wanted to love this meal, but aside from a few bright spots, it missed the mark for a special night out. We left feeling underwhelmed and wishing we had chosen differently.
