The Mooring Restaurant
Very accommodating with food allergies. Great views! Very good food.
Great food and service. Very crowded and make reservations in advance .
The clam showder was discussing, lobster the butter garlic was not good, potatoes had no taste
Food and service were both very good. Only downside was sitting on the deck in the late afternoon. Sun was brutal. Everyone was sliding there tables away from the lowering sun like vampires. Wish they could extend awning to block the sun a bit longer. I will go back because I do like the place, just won't be sitting on the deck. We went and had desert at the bar. Was very good & cool !!!!
The Mooring was recommended to us by family friends. The view was spectacular, the food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent! We will definitely be back!
The calamari was like rubber. Way over cooked! The lobster was over cooked. A good lobster doesn’t stick to the shell. I couldn’t even crack the shell and I’m a fit guy! To pay the money we did for such a poor meal was absurd! I’ve been here before and it just seems like it went down hill. The service was great! I know she can’t help what comes out that kitchen.
Beautiful abd de
One of the best seafood restaurants I have ever eaten at
The Mooring rocks!!!!!!!! It’s one of our very favorite Aquidneck Island restaurants. The menu is terrific - their award winning scallop chowder is incredible!!!!!
I requested to be seated outside when making my reservation and my friend and I were taken to an indoor table. Outdoor tables were visible and 90% were available. I told the hostess that I requested outdoor seating near the water. She went back to the front desk, came back, and took us down to the outdoor section and then seated us within arm’s reach of the server station. Every table near the water’s edge was empty.
We ordered Lobster rolls which were supposed to be served on brioche rolls but were instead served on hot dog rolls. The lobster itself was tasteless. Not worth the $32.
No flavor to the food. Drink tasted watered down.
My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary dinner at The Mooring. The food, staff and ambiance were amazing. Highly recommend this fantastic restaurant!
Delicious food, amazing service , incredible view. Highly recommend
If you're in Newport, you should definitely book one dinner at this restaurant and hope for outdoor seating (by availability only). It's a beautiful setting overlooking the harbor and the food was delicious. The grilled asparagus with truffle were the best we've ever had. The portions are large, so we shared the fish and chips and each had a fillet to ourselves. The parking is expensive, so if you can, try to park at a meter across the street from the harborside.
Once again, the Mooring not only delights, but continues to excel. It seems as though each time we go, the menu and the food keeps getting better and better. We typically order the seafood pasta. I was a bit concerned because this time they had changed the menu. But my wife and I both agreed this was the best offering so far of all the times that we’ve gone. I don’t know how they continue to do it, but they are consistently excellent, year after year.
One fair warning: the salads are huge, and normally can be shared between two people, particularly if getting one as an appetizer.
Newport is one of our favorite places, and the Mooring has become one of our favorite restaurants. In fact, after last night’s meal, my wife quipped, “I don’t care if we eat out another night for the rest of the year.“ The meal was that good! 😆
Delicious seafood (especially the clam chowder) and nice view of the harbor.
Arrived 20 minutes before our reservation and was promptly seated on the outside porch. Service was friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and serving size was perfect. We ordered family style and it was a great idea. Bag of Donuts is a must!!! We ended up ordering a second!!!
The meal was superb and the service was excellent.
We had an incredible lunch w our daughter and her boyfriend. Service was 10 out of 10. Wonderful atmosphere. We all ordered something different and were not disappointed. You wont be either
Our server Courtney just made the experience 5 stars PLUS.
Food was excellent. Service was great. Loved the Bag of donuts and the cod.
The atmosphere was terrific. However, the food was so bland. All 4 of us ordered different entrees/salads/appetizers and we all agreed the food is really bad. Bland, tasteless, sub par at best.
Probably worth going again just back to the bar for a cocktail. But, our drinks at the table were not good either, so sadly. Yuck! Too many great places in Newport to return here again.
Awesome experience. Great food and service. Would definitely go back!
No A-1 steak sauce was available. The waitress said that they ran out. It was the first day for the waitress and her service was ok for the first day.
This was first time at the mooring and it did not disappoint. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the scallop chowder was awesome! I had the halibut special which was also very good. It’s a beautiful setting too and we had a nice table close to the water view. Will definitely be back.
Loved the place and we love the food. It was a beautiful day and we had great view
When we travel to Newport we always go to The Mooring. We also have a great meal and the service is outstanding. The location on the water is beautiful.
On the busiest weekend of the summer we got excellent service. It was so appreciated. I think our servers name was Rachael. Bag of doughnuts and scallop chowder are very unique and should be tried.
The overall experience was good, I just wish we weren’t sitting directly near the vent… it was freezing and the drinks were very weak.
The hosts saved us a special waterfront table, and were very welcoming. Food is dependably good at the Mooring.
Great view outdoors. Oysters were the best, Calamari was great, bag of doughnuts disappointing. They seemed over fried and dry. The seafood inside chewy.
Always a good meal at the Mooring.
Great food , views and hospitality
Food and service were excellent! Best Baked Stuffed Lobster! Very busy and somewhat noisy, as can be expected on a July day in Newport.
Location was perfect! Food was ok, we got the calamari as an app was pretty good. I had the lobster roll and wasn't impressed, lacked any flavor, decent amount of meat though. Wife had the cajun shrimp tacos and said they were good. Felt rushed, server was talking plates when though we both weren't finished eating.
Amazing culinary experience. Never disappoints. A must go, the view is incredible. Highly recommended
Generous portions, cooked perfectly, delicious! Prompt and efficient service
Great food! Exceptional view of the harbor! Quintessential view of Newport Harbor! Excellent service and attentive staff!
Nice place, good food, service is fine. Sat outside, it was an enjoyable place to go.
