The Mooring Restaurant
On Wednesday, march 3rd we went the Mooring for their seafood tower on 1/2 price Wednesdays. I was superb. We sat out on the enclosed deck which gave a beautiful view of waterway into the marina. What a wonderful afternoon. The food was wonderful and service was great! We love the Mooring in the heart of downtown Newport.

Everything was great in terms of food, ambiance and service. However, We still have to pay for parking for the 2 hrs we were there even after getting parking ticket validated.

Superb spinach salad, scallops entree and salmon burger! Masculine nautical decor with plenty of tables situated close to the water for a harbor view.

Get the Portuguese Cod! You won't regret it! We went for a romantic dinner, sat by the fireplace and had a wonderful time. Good service, good wine and great food!
It was our first time dining at The Mooring. Was not disappointed at all. The food was delicious. The service was great and the food arrived promptly. Highly recommend you give it a try. We’ll be back for sure!

The waiter was nice & very efficient. The table was in the porch area and it didn’t have much ambiance , compared to the interior of the restaurant. I thought it was too bright and sterile! Food was okay. I have been to other Newport Restaurant Group restaurants and liked them better!
Thank you for your feedback. We always like to hear what our guests are saying. Our porch area is a bit sparse right now to accommodate COVID spacing, but we hope you visit us again in the summer when it opens up to the harbor. It has a whole different feel.

First time there .. excellent service and dinning room!!
We went on the earlier side with two toddlers. The waitress automatically knew how to get them settled. The food was amazing. Kids loved the clam chowder and lobster/shrimp fritters. The entrees were superb too! This is our second time and would highly recommend anyone visiting Newport!

Everything was great except the ambiance. We were seated in the “outdoor” area which has no ambiance. I get that it is COVID but restaurants are going to have to figure that out or charge less for eating in such spaces.

A fine place, more expensive than I feel necessary. Upcharge for view I'm sure. Shrimp not cleaned and cocktail more ice than anything else.

We enjoy the Mooring for is consistent quality. For a fish restaurant, they make an awesome fillet mignon as my husband likes it, I wish they would add some pasta dishes.

Service was very attentive. Oysters were awesome. Slightly disappointed with Lobster Roll - reasonable lobster portion not generous. Salmon BLT was great. Atmosphere was good despite crappy weather and limited capacity

we sat out on the deck, on lawn chairs -- not exactly what I had pictured for such a nice restaurant that required a credit card hold for a reservation.
our meals were ehh... his stuffed lobster was amazing, my filet was very overcooked and the shrimp addon had no flavor.

The Bag of Donuts appetizer is never a disappointment! My husband ordered the spicy seafood pasta dish (I tasted it and it was great!). My fish and chips was a bit of a disappointment...too much batter on the fish...overall the food came quickly and was well prepared. Despite the winter weather, the view was still fantastic from the enclosure.
