Amazing dining experience, impeccable service, and outstanding food quality. I would highly recommend!
As has been my past experience at Danny Meyer restaurants, the food was interesting and service was impeccable. I have already recommended a visit to numerous friends.
Maybe my favorite restaurant on the planet.
Always an outstanding experience, across service, unique food and wine pairings, knowledgable and courteous staff, and ambience. One of my favorites in NYC.
Never disappoints. Creative, tasty and a great atmosphere. I just love this place.
Our favorite restaurant.
The Modern was extraordinary dining with a beautiful backdrop of the museum garden. The service was excellent.
The pre fixe menu in the garden room is pricier than the a la carte but what a lovely mid day break, view of the garden, very comfortable for conversation.
Such a wonderful surprise to enjoy a high end delicious meal in the midst of midtown Manhattan without having to fight for a reservation or breaking the bank!!!
We had the pleasure of eating at The Modern, Eleven Madison Park and Per Se all in the same week - WOW! Having never dined at the first two, (and having been waitlisted forever to get into Eleven Madison Park) we made a same day reservation at The Modern (assuming we would never get into Eleven...) and now thrilled that we gave it a try. The Modern far surpassed the food quality of Eleven, provided superior service and had a more enjoyable ambiance looking out over the Sculpture park of the MoMA. Overall experience was almost up there with Per Se - and at a better price point (minus Per Se's lovely Central Park view).
I could go on and on regarding each course, but each one was exquisite - and we will definitely return for the Beef crusted in Comté cheese if nothing else - so tender and fresh - no need for a knife - like cutting thru butter - phenomenonal - our new gold standard for beef.
In addition, the Honey glazed foie gras tart with market strawberries and basil was amongst the best foie gras I have had the pleasure to taste. The flavor profile was on point and incredible.
Can hardly wait to return to NYC and visit The Modern again!!!
Very good service. Wonderful desert. It's my third time in this restaurant, this time food is ok, but not good as previous dinners I had.
Wonderful restaurant. You should not miss if you love wonderful food, excellent service and having a good time. We will be come back, if we are in NYC next time!
The customer service was excellent and wonderful. I can’t wait to come back for dinner. I great way for me to end my vacation.
The service was spectacular and the setting is amazing
Excellent food option
First time dining here, could not have been better. Service is excellent, food was prepared perfectly, sophisticated complex cooking you cannot do at home even if you’re an excellent cook. If you have not dined here before, the portions are a bit on the small side, but didn’t bother me. It’s an extremely refined experience. I find it far preferable to the over Don over precious nine and 10 course extravaganza that is overtaken the restaurant world. Had a seat next to the glass while overlooking the moma sculpture garden which is a very special setting. A friend recommended going here instead of 11 Madison and I’m glad I listened.
Excellent eight course dinner with beautifully paired wines. Johnathan (somm) gladly selected an alternative for us when a Pinot was not as exceptional as the wines we tasted. House-made breads were amazing; caviar and other seafood were uniquely prepared. This was our sixth Michelin star restaurant in three countries and we ranked it second only behind three star Ritz in Paris. Fabulous!!
Loved it. Another amazing place in NYC. Awesome food and perfect service.
Absolutely fantastic service from all ends. Food was phenomenal. The scallops were cooked perfect and my fiancé is a tough judge on seafood cooking. We were taken to the kitchen to admire the hard working team and be amazed by the marble counters. Simply a great experience.
great view to the museum outdoor sculptures, inventive food with very good ingredients. attentive service. precious wine list, but expensive
Outstanding across the board!
Amazing amazing experience. Worth every penny for a friends birthday
There are dining experiences and their are dining experiences. This is the later. I cannot say enough about how fabulous this was. Everything was extraordinary. This is not a place for an everyday meal or a quick bite, this is a place to enjoy the beauty, subtleness, and the gift of a thoughtful, imaginative and composed meal.
Excellent food! Perfect service.
we enjoyed the cuisine, the ambience and the staff's attention to detail
One of the best meals, if not the best meal, I have ever had. Service was also superb.
Did 8 course tasting, and it was Amazing!!
Outstanding service. Break the bank.
Changing my job
Wonderful and creative dishes with impeccable and friendly service.
All the food was too salty , all I could taste was the salt . Everything else was ok.
Service was exceptional, food was way below expectations. Tiny portions, couldn’t find the asparagus in the scallop and asparagus dish and the poached chicken was poorly presented and tough. Will not return
We went to celebrate a birthday. The environment was nice , the wait staff was very polite and energetic. The sommelier was kind enough and helpful in recommending wines for our meal. The food was fine. Nothing was terribly impressive or stuck out as absolutely incredible. Most of it was a bit bland though we did like the hamachi quite a bit. The chef's apparent signature dish, the foie gras tart, was odd and had no flavor (and I actually like foie gras). The desserts and the wine were the best parts of the meal. The staff did bring a small cupcake at the end with a candle and "happy birthday" written in light chocolate on the plate but other than that, it was just fine.
We've been to The Modern many times when we go to New York because we know it will be a great meal; beautiful room, attentive service, but most importantly really good food. This meal exceeded our (already high) expectations: absolutely exquisite. The Lobster Fricassee with fava beans was the best lobster I've had, and the Passion Fruit Curd with Sweet Pea ice cream was not just incredibly creative but also mouthwateringly delicious (and also pretty to look at). We ate at two other well-known "foodie" New York restaurants this weekend, and The Modern put them to shame.
Perfect for dating place with someone. I recommend you should choose your own courses.
Amazing food! We had Incredible service. Thank you for making my wedding lunch special.
Lovely atmosphere and decor! Modern and elegant. We had 6-course tasting menu and for what we paid, food is really good. Will go back again, but probably not ordering tasting menu next time.
