The Modern - Dining Room Ratings and Reviews
I've been to plenty of good restaurants in my life, but this is the first time I felt compelled to write a review. Went on a weekday with a friend and got the 8 course dinner menu. Food was absolutely delicious and unique. Best dish I had was their caviar on eggs, absolutely divine. Might be the best form of eggs I'll ever eat in my life. Aside from the food, they had an incredible wine list that was in the form of a 100+ page binder. The service was impeccable, professional yet personable. The only flaw that I can think of is that in the middle of the dinner, they started refilling my glass with carbonated water instead of regular tap when I didn't ask for it. Not sure if that was on purpose or not, but it was no big deal. Again, overall great experience. And the no tipping thing is very very cool.
Oh my. What a wonderful time we had! Beautiful room with a view of the sculpture garden; The Staff was so lovely, attentive and knowledgeable; and the food was amazing! By putting ourselves in the hands of the knowledgeable sommelier, we went on a complete food and wine tour that transported us across many of the wine-growing regions of the World.
Trust these wonderful professionals and Do this too! Amazing.
Spectacularly beautiful dishes in a very special setting. Five of 6 entrees ordered by our table were outstanding. Mine, the lamb was tough and underwhelming. Wish there was a more moderately priced option. At close to $200 pp for lunch, only the very wealthy can afford to frequent this gem.
Had lunch here. The food was stellar. A simple green salad was so fresh and heavenly, and the ravioli was outstanding. The cheese plate featured large pieces of deliscious cheeses - a very nice variety. The service was prompt, and the wait staff had the perfect blend of fine-dining and friendly personalities. I plan on eating at the Modern every time I visit NYC.
We made a reservation for my husband's significant birthday. Everything was perfect. We got the right seating, the candles, etc. But the food was really really delicious, on par for a Michelin star restaurant. The service was impeccable as well. Overall, great experience. Will go there again.
This is our third time at this restaurant. We were warmly welcomed by the host and hostess and seated at a table overlooking the MoMA Sculpture Garden. Our server Daniel and his team were very professional and attentive.
We had the tasting menu and every dish was artfully decorated and tasted delicious. They brought out an additional dessert for our anniversary celebration was a total surprised to us 😊
To us, they deserved 3 Michelin Stars!
Other than the manager lady, all other server and service are farrrrrrrrrrr from 2star. Will never go back again. Extreme noisy. And the way staff talk to you was not nice and food preparation took 45 mins for first course. No one came to clean up when the table needed. Total experience cannot even compare to street side “cheesecake factory”。
One of the best meals I've ever had. Perfect pacing of the courses, ideally sized and calibrated richness. It started with caviar and brioche paired with Billecart Salmon brut rose and went UP from there. Impeccable wine list with fantastic help navigating it from our somm, Courtney. The fois gras with Yquem was insane. They invited us to the chefs table for dessert. It was a perfect meal. Easily a three star restaurant.
