   Their dinner course was amazing - all dishes served were flavorful and creative. The service was also impeccable as restaurant staff was attentive and accommodating. As first-timers in NYC, we felt that we made a great choice in picking The Modern as the Michelin restaurant to try. Truly an over-all lovely experience!

   I’ve dined here several times for lunch and dinner. This time the lunch portions seemed significantly smaller than in the past, although the food is still just as tasty. Service is adequate but not quite as seamless as Gramercy Tavern.

   I don't say this often, and I've dined literally all over the world, this experience was near flawless. The food was exceptional - better than other Michelin Star restaurants where I've dined. We did the 6-course tasting menu at lunch. From the "egg on egg on egg" dish to the salmon and dry aged duck - nothing disappointed.....next time I'm back in NYC, I will be dining here again.

   Food was wonderful. My only comment was that we told our waiter that one of us had a food allergy but then one of the dishes came out with that allergen. It was quickly fixed but a bit disconcerting that the message was not delivered to the kitchen. Overall a great experience and will definitely be back.

   This was our first time ever to enjoy a Michelin Star restaurant. The six course meal was something we've never experienced before. It's not a matter of "Oh, that was so tasty...". Every single course was something completely innovative. Delicious new sensations that we've never experienced in our lives. Normally we would never have paid this kind of money for supper. But this was not just a meal, rather a total experience. We only wish we had the whole even to savour every moment. Alas, we only had 2 hours, since we had a broadway show to catch. Next time we're in Manhattan we'll definitely plan to have a whole evening for such an experience. BTW: There was nothing at all "stuffy" about the place. The atmosphere and staff was super welcoming, with a nice sense of humour. (Before going we were a bit worried that it might be too 'stuffy' and out of our class... not so.) PS: We didn't even know what a Michelin Star restaurant was, were it not for the movie "100-foot Journey." There you go. :-)

    It was my 66th birthday so a special celebration. The tasting menu was superb and the chef even accommodated my dislike of poached eggs in one course. The sommelier was great as well. Overall fine dining at is best.

    Excellent food and absolutely outstanding service. We couldn't believe how much staff they had tending to the tables. It was like watching a choreography. This was not just dinner, it was an experience; a memorable one.

    This was probably the best meal that we have had in NY in many years. The service was impeccable, the servers very friendly and knowledgeable; the food, a miracle of flavors and beautifully presented. One of my favorite dishes was their foie gras...so light and so delicious. Their signature egg dish appetizer is artfully presented and so flavorful. The sommelier did wonderful pairings for each of us, who had slightly different courses. This restaurant is a must!

    It was exceptional, we've eaten there before, but how the food and inventive courses could get any better, is not possible. Just gets better. Amazing first course egg on egg...w/brioche sticks... just a wow. The extra $ cheese course is worth tasting..all American made!

    We have eaten at the bar before, but have looked forward to dining in the restaurant. It did not disappoint. We like the no tipping policy, instead including it in the food and beverage price. While we did order the wine pairings, we noted that there are some wines available on the wine list at reasonable prices, not always the case for Michelen star restaurants. A staff member noticed that I was trying to fish out something that had fallen into my wine and immediately brought a fresh glass.

    We had the six course, prixe fixe menu in the main dining room..all the courses were unusual and amazing..(take a look at the menu)..service could not have been better..friendly and accommodating..The cheese (all cheese made in America) was wonderful, with many great choices..The Fromager was so knowledgeable and helpful when we were making our choices...They gave us a printed menu, wishing us A Happy Anniversary, at the end of the meal..How nice!.....Great Restaurant...

    Have been here several times, and each time has not disappointed in any way. They have the best tables for 2 along the large window overlooking MOMA sculpture garden. The service is perfectly timed, professional, pleasant and helpful. First time we’ve had 6-course tasting menu — everything was beautifully presented and delicious! And this time a NY moment: professional tenor, Cody, also dining here, impromptu, sang Happy Birthday and O sole mio — bellisimo!

    Once again my experience at The Modern was outstanding. All of the courses were excellent, especially the "eggs on eggs" and the beef. The service was as always extremely attentive, professional, and helpful. I particularly appreciated the flexibility with which the wine was handled (my companion definitely wanted wine, but not that much, and the waiter offered a half glass of the red, which was just right). Not all high-end restaurants are so accommodating. Both my friend and I enjoyed ourselves immensely. I look forward to my next visit.

    An amazing restaurant in an amazing location overlooking the sculpture garden at MoMA. Each course was a beautifully crafted masterpiece with bold flavors and bold takes on many traditional foods. Everything was cooked to perfection and each bite was filled with incredible enjoyment.     This restaurant is really amazing. Dinner was outstanding, a real ‘experience’. I recommend wine pairing which really complements the food. Service is top notch and the atmosphere is well suited for the location with a view on the MOMA garden. Will be back!
