The Modern
Lunch offers a $138 three-course menu or $178 six-course menu.
Dinner at The Modern is a 7-course menu, involving a few choices on your part, as well as some courses that the restaurant are excited to share with you, bringing a sense of surprise to your meal while also mediated by your own tastes.
Dinner is $228 per person, with the option of wine pairings.
The Modern accepts reservations 28 days in advance. The restaurant also includes the vibrant and lively Bar Room, terrace for seasonal outdoor enjoyment, and bar & lounge to welcome walk-ins. The Kitchen Table offers a custom multi course menu for up to four guests in the heart of the restaurant's world-class kitchen.

Thanks for your hospitality. Due to the time strain, we didn’t get the last treat of the bite of dessert, Shumai ice cream although the manager told us and we did look forward to.

Absolutely amazing
It was amazing! I had to move my reservation twice because of flight issued and they were accommodating. The service was very, friendly and professional and not at all stuffy. The decor is modern and clean yet comfortable. And the food. Of course it is expensive but unforgettable. Totally worth it. Works of art befitting the MoMA in presentation, taste and texture. The devil is in the details, my friends.
We had a spectacular evening!!! What a pleasant surprise. The staff was so friendly and not pretentious as you might expect.. The service was perfect with coordination of the multiple courses and wine pairings. Their was plenty of information given to us on each course and the staff patiently answered all of our questions. We chose 5 of the seven courses, but there were at least 5 other treats thrown in at various points in the dinner (for a total of 10 courses). There was not one thing that I got that I did not like. The flavors and presentation were outstanding. At the end of the meal, we were each given a sheet of paper with a description of each course and another with the names of all the wine pairings. We will gladly go back for another special occasion. It is pricey but well worth it!!

Out of the 7 small plates, there was one that it was a bit salty...all others were phenomenal.

Absolutely exquisite taste experience with a complexity of flavors in each bite. Service and ambiance are wonderful. Just don't come if you're too hungry, or you'll have to eat more as soon as you leave.
One of the best dining experiences in NYC
The only complaint I have was the food is quite salty to my taste. I would ask for less salty next time. But overall really good experience. And this is so far the best restaurant that allow us to bring our toddler to dine in. So I would definitely come again soon.
A fantastic evening. Two suggestions. The “music” was selected for the adjoining bar area (low thump-thump) not pleasant nor appropriate for fine dining. The desserts, while very good were not up to the rest of the superb meal

Nothing short of excellent from this foodie! I traveled to NYC from South Georgia just to dine there and at Eleven Madison Park the following night, then flew home. Each dish of the six course dinner with wine pairing was wonderful. We were able to tailor the dinner for each person in three of the courses and it work out beautifully. I would like to say there were some courses better than others but all dishes delivered on presentation and preparation. I love to dine at different places, but I am compelled to return to The Modern. I will say that we were in the dining room, which separated only by glass but is much quieter than the bar restaurant.

Amazing food and great service.
Actually my reservation is at 7:15pm;however, when my mom and I got there, we waited 20min to sit beside the bar cuz there were 2 tables still staying. But the manager came to us for several time, made apologies for us and gave us some snacks!!! We were a little bit displeased at first, but the service was soooo good and several waitresses came to us and tried to explain and apologize! We felt much better!
The food is good! But it took us about 2hrs30min to finish the dinner!!!!

Wonderful setting, excellent service. The creativity of the courses, the choices - even with the 3-course lunch, the quality of the ingredients, and the presentation- all superb.
My wallet cries, but my tastebuds dances. I like the no dress code policy. For those who have never been to a fancy restaurant, this is one less thing you have to worry about. Casual-fancy or business casual is perfectly fine. The food was delicious, the pacing was just right and the sommelier did a really good job recommending us non-wine drinkers something we’d like. Overall, I would definitely go again.
The restaurant is top notch in food, service, but, in my opinion, it is too expensive for the value you receive.

The food was superb, creative, so full of flavor and combinations of herbs/meat and vegies. The customer service was the best I have experienced any in the country. Our main person was full of knowledge of the dishes, how they were prepared and selection of cocktail/wine.
