What can Say - we walked in and thought oh no we will get ignored and will get bad service - how wrong we were - we were treated well, asked how were, the owner even spoke to us for a while.
Food was amazing - tasted really good and was presented beautifully.
would go there again if we every visit Bath again
Had a disappointing meal after a previous wonderful experience here. The service was good but our knowledge of Indian food is limited and made to feel this.
The meal was good but not worth the price tag. 3 people £136.(no wine).
A little annoyed also that they charged 12.5% tip which was included on the bill. I love to tip but not forced to and not usually 12.5% for 3 people.
Service and food very good, however extremely over priced and comes with a service charge of £9.
No draft beers only 330ml bottles and wine is well expensive for that type of cheap plonk.
Would not recommend this Indian restaurant to anyone as there are many others out there where you would struggle to spend half the cost.
The restaurant looks the part from the lush interior. Unfortunately it's service and food didn't match. We were celebrating my husbands 40th birthday which the restaurant knew as I told them when we booked. There was no mention of a happy birthday! The food was presented beautifully but the spices were not cooked and had a raw taste. The jalfrezi was unbelievable hot (a dish we order regularly at many other Indians). There were good vegetarian options. We were totally rushed through and had both starters and main within 40 minutes despite asking for a gap the main came out as soon as the starter plate was taken. This was not the birthday celebration we had hoped for.
The restaurant was very inviting, lovely building and decor and we were warmly greeted on arrival. Excellent staff all very professional. Service was quick . Good wine list and an unusual menu. The presentation was very good, and the potions were generous. It was very busy, all the tables were taken but it did not affect the service at all. This was an excellent meal, the experience could not be faulted
The restaurant provides a beautiful and elegant setting, which, unfortunately, was not matched by the level of service. There were a number of missteps and the service seemed extremely rushed.
My husband ordered a single malt whisky; the waiter brought it over ice when none was requested. When we pointed this out, the waiter did replace it with a whisky "neat." However, he ran off before my husband could request a pitcher of water with the drink. When we finally were able to request water, we were given (and charged for) bottled water.
Some of the servers (of European, not Indian, descent) seemed to have a very limited understanding of English, making communication very difficult.
I'm sorry to say that I don't recall much about the quality of the food - it was probably OK, but our impressions of the evening were overshadowed by the service. I believe we finished our meal in about an hour.
One thing that was memorable was trying to drive to this location and the designated parking lot - not recommended for tourists like us who aren't familiar with the roads in Bath. If you can't walk there, suggest taking a taxi!
Lastly, we did not notice that the service charge was automatically added to the bill - the subject of many other reviews. My husband added a tip and the waiter did not say anything - perhaps looking forward to collecting a double (and unearned) tip. We did point this out to the manager before leaving and he refunded the extra tip that we'd put on our credit card.
We spent 7 weeks in Ireland and the UK; this was one of our (few) disappointing/negative dining experiences.
Fantastic full flavoured food.
Great menu, something for all.
Husband is a veggie & found the choice of food good.
Good drinks selection although water is overpriced for what it is!
Ambience is average, nothing to shout about.
I'll be returning with friends or family.
I found the Bath Mint Room by accident some years ago when it was opemimg andI now return every September as I pass through Bath on holiday. As usual, it was an excerllent evening enjoyed by four of us fully up to expectations and very fine food.
Great menu, modern fabulous flavours, friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Food was excellent but unfortunately service was very poor. We waited over an hour for our main course and even when we enquired how long it would be, did not get an apology. The Maitre D seemed very ambivalent to our concerns. Such a shame as the food was delicious. This was a special occasion so it was disappointing overall.
Quality service and absolutely gorgeous food. Great night
Have been here a number of times now and absolutely love it - the food is amazing and the service has always been excellent. The restaurant itself is in a slightly odd location but well worth making the trip, the food is outstanding.
I booked The Mint Room for my chap's birthday meal. Having previously resided in Sw London, where we had very decent Indian food available to use, we are very picky about the standard of our curries. The Mint Room really is of an excellent standard with an incredibly creative menu and beautiful tastes therein.
I would certainly recommend this restaurant - keen that it doesn't become tooooo popular, however, as I would be incredibly disappointed if we couldn't get a table for our next celebration!
Busy, ambiance on average, food good
Needs some time
Aircondition to extreme
The food is outstanding and the service perfect. We booked this restaurant on the strength of Trip Adviser reviews and were not disappointed. Coming from Leicestershire, we have some fabulous Indian restaurants on our doorstep but this is one of the very best we have been to. Our meals were faultless and the friendly staff made us so welcome. Will be finding an opportunity to go back to Bath to visit.
Food excellent, service very very slow, it was exactly 1 hour before we got our main course, unusual as the service is normally very good. I hope that the delays in service will improve. We are regular customers and hope to continue.
Four of us ate in the Mint Room Monday evening. The staff were very friendly from the outset and everybody's meals were fantastic. I particularly loved my starter and the presentation of all the meals was amazing. The girls were also very impressed with the cocktails!
The price was fair for a fantastic evening out
Lovely menu. Lots to choose from both traditional and modern. Food arrived quickly, was well presented and flavoursome. Service was attentive but not intrusive. The team remembered us saying we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and added a personal message to our dessert.
Well worth a visit. Would recommend to others and visit again if we are close by.
This is probably my fourth or fifth visit and considering I live 200 miles away it must be worth it!
The food is varied, good quality and beautifully presented. If you like standard Indian restaurant food these choices are available, but there is so much more.
Glitzy sparkling walls and banquette seating plus friendly and accommodating staff - highly recommended.
Have been looking forward to dining at the Mint Room, and the visit was fantastic. The food was probably the best Indian food we have ever eaten. The only small bit on "constructive" criticism would be with the poppadoms at the beginning, it would have been nice if one of the dips had even just a tiny bit of spice to them.
The staff were very friendly, although we did have to ask 3 times before we received a bottle of water.
The car park is advertised as "at the rear", when it is in fact in the car park of Homebase.
From the moment that we entered the restaurant , the service was outstanding. I can't fault any part of the experience in any way at all. The staff were helpful ,prompt at delivering each course and didn't intrude on our meals. The food was delicious and was very well presented. We've been spoilt by this restaurant experience and I feel that it will be very difficult to find somewhere else that reaches this standard.
If you like Indian food you'll like this. Great food great service. Only quibble I wish they didn't automatically add a 12.5% tip to your bill. O yeah and arrive exactly on time you booked as no bar.
Brilliant food, attentive service and great ambience - ideal for families, couples and groups of friends who enjoy quality ingredients, modern menu choices and a relaxed atmosphere.
We enjoyed a lovely meal on a Sunday night for two of us. The service was excellent throughout - our waiter was really chatty and friendly, very welcoming indeed.
The food was absolutely delicious. Both of our curries were a bit hotter than we expected - but I always find heat levels unpredictable in curry houses - so just be warned that if you don't like spicy food, make sure you keep to the gentle stuff! Thankfully we both love spice so absolutely loved our meals.
It was a pretty typical price tag, so no complaints given the excellent quality of the food. Quick tip - if you have a non-drinker with you (pregnant wife for me), the apple mojito is exceptional apparently!
The staff had very little personality, and it seems that one of them did not even speak English. Not only that, but they got my order wrong and the vegetable korma had way too much parsley. One of the waiters was rude to me, and the standard of the restaurant in all has just gone down hill. This used to be a classy, great ambiance restaurant and it is purely ruined by the staff. Something must be done.
Wonderful food served attentively by very good staff. Couldn't fault anything about the experience. Definitely go again next time we are in Bath
Really enjoyed the saag paneer!
The mint rooms was an excellent choice for top quality Indian food. Very good service but most importantly the food was fantastic.
