Having seen no sign of a server for about 15 minutes after being seated we decided to leave. Of course, our server showed up at that point to serve another table. She did acknowledge us, thanked us for our patience and was quite pleasant when she took our order. Arrival of our food was very prompt and, as always, was very good. Additional drinks would have been ordered if a server had come by before we were finished eating. It appeared that our server was working in two sections of the restaurant which may have been a bit too much for one person to handle.
As always, The Millworks did not disappoint. We started with the Urban Picnic meat and cheese plate, featuring local meats and cheeses. Then, I had the trout entrée and my husband had the burger. Both were great. And, the craft beer is very good. We always enjoy dining at The Millworks!
We enjoyed our tasty meals of pasta, scallops, and pulled pork. The beer selection was great and the booth we requested was a comfy place for a casual dinner.
My husband and I were celebrating our 1 year Anniversary!! The food is like no other around. Fresh, local, mouth-wateringly tasty and served HOT (which you don't always get in busy restaurants)! Scallops and polenta were to die for! Please keep this on the menu!!! Drinks were phenomenal too.. my husband had a craft beer and I had an extra dirty martini, not even on the menu and it was perfectly served just the way I like them!! Everything was above expections including the ambiance and service! Can't wait to go back when the rooftop opens!!!
Another great visit!! Service, drinks, food and ambiance were outstanding!! Highly recommend Millworks!! Great choices of micro-brewed beer, cocktails and wine! The scallops were excellent as was the burger! Don’t forget the roasted beet salad and appetizer. We had the Urban Picnic meat and cheese platter from local farms. Everything including the marinated vegetables were excellent on the Urban Picnic platter.
We look forward to visiting again. This has become our favorite local microbrew restaurant!!
Love this place! Excellent food and all the beers are consistently great across the board on all the styles brewed here.
A few of us ladies wanted to get together for a nice meal. We wanted to meet at a local spot but we didn’t want the same old stuff. Millworks came to mind. Different menu items without being too obscure. This is a very convenient location.
The food was great, everything tasted very fresh. Nice portion sizes, even for sharing. We had excellent service but I unfortunately forgot his name.
I highly recommend the Millworks for any type of gathering or just to grab a bite while your out and about.
A big bonus is FREE PARKING!!
Thanks for a good time and great meal!!
Not the first time we’ve been here and it won’t be our last. The service was very good as were the drinks. The only complaint about the food was the pulled pork sandwich could have used more pork. There were bites that had more bun than pork. Otherwise all met expectations. I particularly liked the fried clam appetizer and the kale salad was very tasty.
I had the pulled pork pizza. The dough, cheese, etc was good, but pork was dry. Our waiter was fantastic!
I love this place for its atmosphere and the artists in residence. Plus the food is always really good.
Excellent Sunday brunch and exceptional service! The food was delicious and the presentation was great too!
We had such a great time! We were a large group and everyone loved their food - we left stuffed and very happy to wander the artists studios in the building!
We visit fairly frequently. One of the best meals in the area. Creative cuisine without being too crazy. Tasty pizzas. We’ll be back.
I don't get a lot of opportunities to take my wife out and this was the perfect place to bring our spark back to the surface. The menu was fantastic and alcohol choices weren't boring. The patrons were seemingly on the same page of enjoying the ambiance and each others company with a safe and cozy environment. I would say it's a diamond in the ruff. The wait staff were attentive and versed on the menu. Very professional .
The house-made pastrami was incredible, perfectly accompanied by the Market Day IPA. The cole slaw could use work.
Visited after brunch so was in between brunch and dinner menu. Pizza was excellent as well as the buttermilk chicken sandwich. It was a little dark where we sat but otherwise great visit.
We took my son there for his birthday lunch. It was great, tasted fresh. I was a little disappointed with dessert, the apple crisp, seemed a little to raw for me, but that's just me. I truly enjoyed my lunch.
Everything we ordered tasted great, the atmosphere was pleasant, our server was delightful. Will definitely be back!
too noisy, loud
waitress was great
food is just ok
I loved the locally sourced menu for both food and rink. We were a family of four aged 16-53 and 3 of us had an alcoholic beverage and we all had dessert. As a vegetarian all I could have was the pesto pizza though. We had a burger, chicken sandwich, pizza and a chicken pasta dish and our bill was 175.00. The artist spaces around the restaurant were also a huge attraction and we loved strolling through them. Parking was easy and safe. I would give it another chance but would not take 4 !
Way too pricey and food is just nothing. We came at 2 -30 pm and online menu had an option for ramen for lunch. But menu in a restaurant said this is served only at 4 pm. So I asked the waiter if they could make it at 3 maybe? And got really rude reply that in a menu it is said when we can have it. I was with a toddler and hoped to find some healthy options there and she likes ramen but the waiter did not even suggest kids man or any help with dishes. So service is awful. The guy just showed his disgust to my kid who is not too noisy by the way.
Beer is ok, nothing special. Who does not make beer now?
As for the menu choices are really poor. Only subs/pizzas and burgers. Very high price. 2 salads none of which looks attractive. I ordered beets salad... so boring and what you could taste 10 years ago in Europe.
Smoked beef taco is a disaster... wet, no flavor and just as if you eat a duster...
Pizza with mushrooms- average and dough looked like it was store bought
Doubt we go again and do not recommend as a food place. Beer - might be
Great ambiance. Very cool crowd. Food was great and service was equally as great. Will go again for sure and will highly recommend.
Sunday brunch. Interesting and appealing menu. Large portions. Nice beers. Little noisy and believe evenings could be very noisy. Pleasant staff.
We're fans of Millworks--Especially for Sunday brunch. We've eaten several kinds of meals there, but brunch is definitely the winner. Great cocktails, an awesome beer list, and great post-church eggs, tacos, and sandwiches. So good.
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch as we discussed some professional opportunities. Food and service were timely and appropriate. We enjoyed the experience and would return.
Wonderful meal at Millworks with my parents. The food was outstanding, the cocktails were excellent and the venue is gorgeous inside. Mary was our server and she was helpful explaining about Millworks and the seasonal local menu.
My wife and I were in town for a conference and we wanted to have a special night out. Not knowing much about the restaurants in the area I selected this restaurant because of reviews but was still pretty unsure of where we were going. However, once we arrived everything, and I mean everything was perfect. Incredible service, great atmosphere, and yeah, incredible food. I can’t recommend this place enough. The prices might be a little high but they are worth every penny
I am a bigger guy. Some of the tables have chairs with arm rests that make the chair uncomfortably restrictive, but only some of them. I was unfortunate enough to be seated at one of those tables. When I asked my server if there were any seats she could switch us to, she just refused. She didn’t ask why, or bother to take note of the pain I was in. Eventually a hostess walked by and I was able to flag her down and explain, and she moved us immediately.
The new seating came with a new server and the rest of our night was amazing. The food is fantastic and there is a pretty good selection of beers.
There are also galleries where art created by the Millworks team members is on display.
All in all it was a great experience. I will be back, but I will request seating appropriate to my size rather than be embarrassed like that again.
Love the place. The food and service was exceptional .
Fun Friday night dinner! They were busy but in a fun and energetic way. People of all ages dining and celebrating misc events. Our waitress, Josie, was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious - we started with the Urban picnic (cheese and meat board) then we had pulled pork sandwiches, fried chicken sandwich, beet salads and end with terrific desserts and french press coffee and organic tea! We will be pack soon!
My friends and I had dinner and we loved it! Delicious, interesting menu!
Valentine's Day w/reservation.
Food was delicious. Portions were great. Drink prices were about what I would expect for finer dining. Clam appetizer was pretty sizable for two, don't overload. Service was ok - not much jumped out about our server. The dining experience was not bad or great, it was enjoyable enough. Only complaint would be that we called to see if we could add 2 seats and were turned down, which was expected given the day. However, there were multiple tables that were open the entire time, where they could have fit the extra 2.
going out to eat on valentines day can be iffy. restaurants can be overbooked, resulting in slow service, diminished food quality. not so at millworks! we enjoyed a delicious meal , wonderful service
Didn’t like that they had just expensive items on their “valentines day menu” but the waiter and manager were excellent at serving and accommodation!!! The food is so rich in flavor and well cooked! Love the atmosphere and great experience as always!
Awesome Valentine’s menu and our server, Erica?, was helpful, sweet and not overbearing. The restaurant wasn’t overfilled and loud so we could talk and enjoy one another’s company. We had a lovely evening!
Took myself out for a Valentine's Day dinner at The Millworks. Had a FABULOUS time and I give credit to the awesome staff and the amazing food. Will definitely be back with friends. I drove 45 minutes to get there and it was completely worth the drive.
Very nice atmosphere. Service was excellent. Food & Drinks were very good. Nice play for drinks. But limit dining to special occasions due to prices.
We were a party of four. Two of us found our entrees and side dishes to be almost too salty to eat. I had the $58 aged ribeye steak that was (have I mentioned over-salted?) rather tough, overlooked, and not remotely worth the price. The sides of mashed potatoes and braised bacon Brussels sprouts weren't well prepared or particularly good. The Brussels sprouts were soggy and overly seasoned. Another member of our party had a beet salad that was topped with sirloin steak, and he thought it was very good. A third member of our party found the meatloaf too (you guessed it) salty, but he liked the mac and cheese side. We shared a urban picnic and the fried Chesapeake clam appetizers and both were good. The fourth member of our party said that he enjoyed his ramen noodle dish. Dessert was what they called an "apple cobbler" that was actually an apple crisp. It was buttery, hot, and very good -- although not exactly what we'd ordered. The service was attentive, prompt and pleasant. And the ambience is fun. The craft beers are worth a trip. This third time at Millworks and while it's okay, I think that it's overrated -- and not a particularly good value.
Very good beer. Clam strips usually very good but overcooked this time. Sandwiches are a little pricy and need better bread that does not fall apart.
Always a great get together. Love to take the family here. Grandson loves the homemade play dough. Lol
