The Mill Kitchen and Bar Ratings and Reviews
The Mill was a perfect pick for our girls get together. So nice outside, we sat on the patio and the ambiance was lovely. We lucked out and had Chad for our server; he provided excellent service. The salads were superior and I loved my pimento BLT. We will be back! I don’t know why waited so long to try The Mill.
My husband and a friend of ours ordered steak. When the server brought the steak out, both were over cooked so they were sent back to the kitchen. Next round the steak was cooked correctly, but was so thin it reminded us of Ponderosa Steak house. On a positive note, they did take the steaks off the bill.
The other 2 entrees for our party were delicious.
Bar service was VERT reasonable in price! Food value was also very reasonable. Food quality was average. Of the meals that were ordered, 5 steaks and 2 other meals, 2 selteaks had to be sent back due to being cold when delivered and 2 others should’ve been sent back due to correct fineness of meat. Personally I was disappointed in the difference in the size of the same size steaks. There were 3 different 8oz filets ordered and it was completely apparent thaizes if the steaks were different..2 were center cut and the other was the tail end. The two ribeyes were large in plate size but thin and tough.
Would I go back? Perhaps but only if someone else was paying !
Overall very good restaurant and outstanding service. Nice to get great service that is not over the top but aware when my water glass was low and filled it up. Food was outstanding. My dinner was not piping hot but not cool enough to send back - but quite tasty. Believe me - if I had requested it I know it would have happened without hesitation. I won't let so much time pass before going back again.
My wife and I had dinner there on Sunday November 5, 2017.
This was our first time at this restaurant.
Food was good - but nothing set it apart from many other restaurants in the area. The focus is on southern Comfort Food.
We started by sharing the lobster sliders which had a little too much garlic.
My wife had the trout which she said was good. I had the venison Wellington which, although a bit gamey, was also good.
Drinks and wine were priced reasonably and the server did a good job.
Nice place - but not special enough given the price of entrees.
Was excited to try a new place I'd seen on Atlanta Eats a few times. Chose it to celebrate my and a good friend's birthdays over lunch. Made sure to note on the reservation we were celebrating our birthdays. Got there and the host didn't seem to care whether or not I had made a reservation and I had to mention to the waiter it was our birthdays. We were the first to sit on the patio but, by the time we left, it was packed.
Nice menu, although not too many options. Decent wine list, although not spectacular. A little over-priced for lunch but hey--it was our birthday celebration. I had the salmon BLT (very good) and my friend had the Market salad with shrimp (she said it was good). Chose the S'more dessert and it was excellent--perfect for two people. Plus, they didn't charge us for it--nice move!
Would go again just for the great service, lovely patio, fireplace, and view of Roswell square.
As a newly married male (35 yrs old, with an 8-yr old girl), I needed to find a place close by to show one of my girls (my wife), a great time in a short period of time. After lunch here on a Thursday, I do not feel amissed of the bottomless mimosas, live music, or night atmosphere. The food was great but we were AMAZED at 'Jasmine's' bartending skills. We both thoroughly enjoyed not only the aesthetics, but the punch-in-your-mouth flavor of the fanciest/best White Russian (S'More) we've ever had!!
Many Thanks !!We'll definitely be back (Bottomless Mimosas tomorrow).
Awesome Bloody Mary - should have had a second except I was driving! Ordered the pimento cheese Sandwich and it was more bread than pimento so was a bit disappointed. The others had the club sandwich and it was devoured it was that good. The other plate was the shrimp and grits and it was worth the trip. Service was pleasant but spotty having to wait to have someone come by.
My husband and I came for our 4 year anniversary and let me tell you... best experience we've had in a while!
Food was to die for, fall beers were on tap, live jazz drummer was the perfect accompaniment to the roaring outdoor fireplace. The basket of blankets was a nice touch!
It was nice enough and food OK, but nothing too special. I (and another) had the pear and goat cheese sandwich and couldn't find any goat cheese on it. We thought they forgot to put it on so asked for some on the side. Waitress brought us some dressing which apparently had goat cheese in it (very thin). Description should say "goat cheese dressing" not "goat cheese" if that's all there is. We mistakenly asked the wrong waitress for the cheese (the two looked alike) and she acted very put out. Sor-ry!
It could have been great but...
I made a reservation and asked for outside seating. When we arrived, they had an inside table for us but a 15 minute wait for an outside table. The vacant eyed Hostess could not have cared less. She was going through the motions of her job and covered nothing of welcome or hospitality. When I pointed out the reservation she shrugged and never lost the empty eyed look .Fortunately the rest of our evening was not a waste. The server was a little hesitant but did a great job taking our orders and serving our meals. Both of us enjoyed a cocktail (for some reason I really like the bar at The Mill) and loved our meals. Would I recommend? My feelings are really mixed. The welcome sets a tone for the evening and this welcome set a tone of bored indifference. Just makes you want to come back doesn't it?
We frequent The Mill quite often for brunch on Sundays and I tend to order the same thing every time. I'm always surprised by the lack of consistency in preparation though. One Sunday the eggs will be on point, but the biscuit will be overdone. Other days, the reverse, and then every once in a while everything will be exactly as it should be...and it's delicious. I really enjoy coming to this restaurant. I just wish I could count on the consistency of a wonderful meal week after week.
