The Mill Kitchen and Bar Ratings and Reviews
I have driven past The Mill many times, but had never been until now. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good Roswell restaurant. We were met with a complimentary valet service. Once we made it into the building we were greeted with friendly, smiling faces. The service was great, the food was delicious...the only MINOR issue I had was the music/environment was a little loud, but nothing really to complain about. Overall, this is a must try for the city of Roswell!
Our first visit and we shared the pork belly appetizer/small plate and the rib eye, prepared Mill style with Brussels sprouts and lobster mac & cheese. It was really good and we had enough leftovers for a light Sunday night dinner at home. Our only complaint was that our server was a little nervous and spilled wine from the decanter and then seemed to forget about us for awhile. We will return as we do like the farm to table concept and there are non-steak entrees we want to try.
My wife, brother and his wife met here and it was the first time for all of us, we absolutely loved everything, from the moment we walked in we were impressed. The food was fresh and expertly crafted creating a gastronomic adventure rarely found outside the biggest cities in the world. This is a must for anyone that enjoys great food and outstanding service in a cozy, warm, welcoming atmosphere.
The food was out of this world amazing! You could taste how fresh the ingredients were and how much thought was out in to creating the dishes. The vibe in the restaurant is so great. It was upscale, but comfortable and the noise level was just right for intimate dinner conversations. Our waitress, Rebecca, was so great at recommending appetizers, drinks, and even our meal. She made sure we were taken care of and was very personable. I highly recommend The Mill and will definitely be going back!
We are regulars here and they never disappoint. We love sitting at the bar, and they have a nice selection of draft/craft beers, bottled beers, etc. We had a group of 8 at the bar, and had a great time and great food. Janice and Katie always take good care of us at the bar. Watch them make the "old" old fashioned, in the smoke infused glass with a burnt orange. It is a show, and it tastes great. THey also have a great selection of whiskey/scotch, and some pretty good wines.
This time we had the lobster sliders. Ask for a side of drawn butter, they are great. We also had the short rib, it is big enough to split, and is incredibly tasty, served with a 3-cheese grits, and brussell sprouts. Our group really enjoyed the evening.
I took a friend for her birthday. It was her first time at the restaurant. We both loved it. Our waitress made it exceptionally wonderful! Her name is Maris. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and very excited about the quality of the food served. I teased her that she should be the owner because she loved the food so much. She explained that all the food was locally grown. She was right because the food was extremely fresh. I had a chicken sandwich but it was probably the juiciest piece of chicken I've ever had.
The ambience is wonderful too. They have an amazing outdoor area but it was too cold to eat outside when we were there.
It is one of my new favorite restaurants.
Normally love this place... they had large crowd and everyone suffered. Slow drinks... 25 mins or so. (I thought we should get free round... nope)
Service and food off their normal game. Good place... but recommend Sundays and skip Saturday lunches. Still love this place but prob wont be back for sat lunch... when they are on they are on, alas same goes for when they are off.
Waiter was really rude. The entire time he seemed annoyed and got our tickets wrong even after we corrected it. Finally he packed the wrong to go boxes up for us. Another waitress about how her coworkers “was not her favorite”, very unprofessional.
Hostesses and food were great.
Arrived 30min early for a 7:30 reservation. Finally at 7:45 we were sat after I returned to the hostess stand to inquire. Appears they forgot to seat us. We sat at table another 10min before we even had water and a glass of wine was another 10min after that. Asked for Restaurant Week Menu three times (as that is reason we were there) and after still not receiving we pulled up menu on phone and ordered when the glass of wine finally arrived. Food was ok, nothing special. If you want an extra long dining experience with a lack of attention, this is your place!
Couldn't have been better. The hostess realized my reservation was for the next Sat. but they still accommodated us. Our waiter Joe was the best! I had an Open Table $25 and struggled to pull it up. The hostess was soo nice to try and help me. I finally got it and our waiter helped us to get credit. We had a great time and missed our event that we were supposed to go to. We also shared and ordered a veggie meal. These are all things that would make some restaurants have an attitude, but not here!!! Thanks!
As a frequent diner of all restaurants, I am reluctant to post a bad review after a bad night out. I can usually chalk it up to an off-night for either a server or kitchen. However, after our night out at The Mill, I feel as thought I need to respond to what was just an overall horrible experience. It started when we arrived at the restaurant. I don't think I have ever entered a restaurant from the valet into a back hallway where the restrooms are located. There was a small hand-written sign on a door actually entering into the restaurant from this hallway - this should have been our first clue. Then, when we did located the hostess stand (not clearly marked at all), we were seated at our table. Long story short - food was pretty good, but service was horrible and pretty much ruined the evening. We even got the manager involved, but not much better service. Extra salad that was delivered, that we did not order, was not taken off the bill. When server cleared the table after appetizers, he took all of the silverware and did not replace -we had to ask adjacent table. Then, he left 2 entrees on the table to go get boxes for leftovers, and then disappeared! It was not a great night overall. One order of short ribs was an impressive piece of meat, second short rib was fatty and greasy. With all of the choices that exist today, we will not be going back to this restaurant. Too many other great places with much better service and better atmosphere (as other reviews indicate - the place is noisy).
Double date night with our neighbors. Delicious food and great drinks. Ladies night group near us was LOUD, but they were out to have fun, too. Our server knew the menu and took great care of us with water refills, bar suggestions, menu recommendations, etc.
Our reservation wasn't on time. We had to wait for twenty minutes or have a table in the bar area. We were there for our anniversary and didn't want to sit with people standing over the table while we ate. The waitress and food were excellent. Made the wait worthwhile. But I don't think they received the reservation note that we were there for a special occasion.
With all of the choices available in our area we still, think of The Mill first, when we want a quick bite, or full lunch or dinner. A patio with a blazing fire or the relaxed vibe of the dining areas provide a great setting for cozy dining or group celebrations. Chef's palate is perfect for Southern dishes with a flair for the complex,
and we never leave without a smile.
With the first-arrival greeting, to the brilliant mixologist at the bar, to the knowledgeable, professional servers, we always leave happy, excited for our next visit!
First time visiting The Mill. Nice decor, but seating layout lacked a cozy feel. Felt like our table was in the middle of a dance floor. Tried the 12oz NY Strip. It was very over cooked (past well) and bland. The cornbread with honey butter and lobster mac was redeeming. Pimento fritters were ok. Waitress was friendly, but absent, and drinks sat empty most of the meal. Has great potential to be much better, so will give them a second try another time.
We have not eaten at the Mill for probably over a year. The last time the resturant was understaffed and the food was not that good. The reason we dined there last week is that the Mill sent me an email offering a free meal for my birthday. I am really glad that we decided to go and try again. The food was fantastic and the service was just as good. It was a very pleasant way to celebrate my birthday. We will certainly be back soon.
