The Mill Kitchen and Bar Ratings and Reviews
First time visiting The Mill. Nice decor, but seating layout lacked a cozy feel. Felt like our table was in the middle of a dance floor. Tried the 12oz NY Strip. It was very over cooked (past well) and bland. The cornbread with honey butter and lobster mac was redeeming. Pimento fritters were ok. Waitress was friendly, but absent, and drinks sat empty most of the meal. Has great potential to be much better, so will give them a second try another time.
Love this place and the brunch. My only complaint is that the new larger room they have is quite noisy and takes away from the initial appeal of the original restaurant. It would be nice if they create some type of barriers to cut down on the noise as we could not even hear those at our table speaking.
The food and service was amazing. Garrett was our server and he was very nice. The chicken and waffles and the Southern Gentlemen were perfect brunch items. $16 is a great deal on bottomless mimosas and they are not stingy on the champagne. Overall, a great brunch in Roswell.
I was excited about going to brunch at The Mill Kitchen and Bar. I had never been there before. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Our server (Michelle) was friendly. We ordered and were ready to eat! My friend never mentioned his food, but I noticed he didn't eat much of his biscuits and gravy. I ordered the Short Rib Eggs Benedict, and what a disappointment! First of all, the dish arrived lukewarm. Secondly, the Hollandaise Sauce, what little there was of it, was more like a cheese sauce in texture and taste. Nothing about it said Hollandaise. The short ribs were tender and good. The restaurant, at least the room in which we were seated, was extremely loud. Michelle returned only to bring us our check, not even to refill drinks, and we had to hunt her down after waiting for a long time for her to take our credit card. Will I be back? No thanks - too many other good places in the area.
Had a reservation. In the almost empty restaurant, we were seated jammed up against other people in a banquette. Service was extraordinarily slow, considering how few people there were. Drinks were good, although the person who ordered coffee kept having to seek out the server for a refill. The restaurant had advertised a special brunch menu. It consisted of 4 items that could be cobbled together from their regular lunch menu. Not exciting or special. Food came out relatively quickly, but was so-so. French fries were hot on top, but cold and hard underneath. A person with a sandwich served on a hot bun said they bottom of the bun was oily and hard to but through. The top of the bun began to turn hard very quickly parts had to be discarded. After we got food, our server almost never came back to the table. I won't be back.
Food was amazing!...service however wasn’t that great.
It wasn’t even that busy and yet our service was not very good.
I have been before on a night where it was busier and we had excellent service, so I know it is typically better. Overall though this restaurant is a great choice!
The Mill was a perfect pick for our girls get together. So nice outside, we sat on the patio and the ambiance was lovely. We lucked out and had Chad for our server; he provided excellent service. The salads were superior and I loved my pimento BLT. We will be back! I don’t know why waited so long to try The Mill.
My husband and a friend of ours ordered steak. When the server brought the steak out, both were over cooked so they were sent back to the kitchen. Next round the steak was cooked correctly, but was so thin it reminded us of Ponderosa Steak house. On a positive note, they did take the steaks off the bill.
The other 2 entrees for our party were delicious.
Bar service was VERT reasonable in price! Food value was also very reasonable. Food quality was average. Of the meals that were ordered, 5 steaks and 2 other meals, 2 selteaks had to be sent back due to being cold when delivered and 2 others should’ve been sent back due to correct fineness of meat. Personally I was disappointed in the difference in the size of the same size steaks. There were 3 different 8oz filets ordered and it was completely apparent thaizes if the steaks were different..2 were center cut and the other was the tail end. The two ribeyes were large in plate size but thin and tough.
Would I go back? Perhaps but only if someone else was paying !
Overall very good restaurant and outstanding service. Nice to get great service that is not over the top but aware when my water glass was low and filled it up. Food was outstanding. My dinner was not piping hot but not cool enough to send back - but quite tasty. Believe me - if I had requested it I know it would have happened without hesitation. I won't let so much time pass before going back again.
