We visited The Mill on a Tuesday and sadly it is quite a different experience than what one would have on a weekend night out. Service was slower than expected, no congratulations were mentioned to us although we added that note to our reservation about our anniversary. Food was okay, my husbands food had vegetables missing from his plate and wine was stale and most likely not poured from a fresh bottle. Bottom line, unless your prices reflect differently, service and food shouldn’t change because your patrons dine on a Tuesday. We won’t return here again.
Food was very good - fresh and delicious. Server was great - informative and helpful.
Met friends for lunch. Interesting, varied menu. Good food.
sunday b-daby brunch with the family, which includes 3 under 9. We were 10 or so minutes late for our reservation but they seated us immediately. Server was outstanding......took a bit to get our first round of drinks but that sounds like it was the bar. The server again, couldn't have been better.
Everyone very much enjoyed their food......will keep coming here.
Second time there. We went for our Anniversary Brunch Date. We heard our waiter tell another table the kitchen was having issues, which would likely explain why the appetizers took a while, but the meal came out very quickly. Had to ask for some essentials a couple of times, silverware, condiments, refills, but overall it wasn't a bad time.
Excellent selection with a few simple twists that make the food above average. Prices are reasonable set within a rustic mill.
Food was good but very slow to come out. Unfortunately this is a recurring issue.
Everything was very good except my husband’s steak was over seasoned. We have been many times and it is always good. He will order something different next time.
If you’re lucky enough to have Brooke as your server, you’re in for a treat!
Totally ignored. Seated by hostess who told us they’d run out of menus!!! We only needed three menus — or even one for the three of us to share. Unbelievable. The restaurant wasn’t even half full.
Waited 20 minutes — no server whatsoever acknowledged us, no menus ever came, not even a glass of water. Completed ignored. Felt like we were invisible. And we had reservations.
Will NEVER go back. Our first and only visit was a complete waste of time. We go out to eat multiple times per week, usually frequenting Little Alley, 1920 Tavern, Table and Main. Sorry, Mill Tavern, your loss!
The Mill‘s menu is always pretty diverse. Has something for everyone. Always very tasty food. Service is hit & miss tho, like most places. It depends, who you get. Their short-rib dishes are always very good. Their different in-house salad dressings are delish. Soups are always really good too.
“Live” music on Thursdays and Saturdays. Rich does a great job taking requests. Food is delicious. Nice outdoor patio.
I can not say enough good things. Food, service, management and atmosphere excellent .
Service was outstanding. Waitress was attentive without being overbearing. She understood the menu, ingredients in each dish, and was open to alterations to food items. For example, I asked about having the shrimp and grits without the shrimp, and she said I could have that. Deviled egg appetizer was delicious. Fried green tomatoes appetizer was delicious. The sauce for tomatoes was absolutely delicious. One of my friends mentioned was not aware of the sauce, however, because the sauce was underneath the fried green tomatoes. I would recommend ensuring the sauce can be seen after plating to ensure customers are aware the sauce is underneath. Appetizers were for one to two people, at the most, so we ordered multiples of each for the group of six. Apple cheesecake was delicious -- sweetened just right. It was what I would call special. Brownie ice cream was OK. Nothing wrong, but not memorable. My friend loved the pear pastry desert. I did not taste it so I cannot comment on it. The chocolate no flour cake was dense, but flavors were absolutely delicious, especially with my ice cream. All entre plates were clean -- we enjoyed the food. The beef on the steak sandwich was in chunks. I was surprised to see that because chunks usually mean chewy, which is what my sandwich was. Still, flavors were spot on. I would eat here again. Oh, during the end of our visit, a party started upstairs -- over our heads. There was entirely too much stomping -- it sounded like the people were going to come through the floor. So the restaurant may need to do something to reduce that noise for customers below.
Food was very average.
Amazing as usual! Can’t go wrong here!
Farm to table, food was fresh and prepared very well. Server had a great personality but service was just a little slow. Got there early and noise level was perfect for conversation as we ate. As tables filled, the restaurant became very noisy, hard to hear across the table. Prices were a tad high for the neighborhood, or for me to become a regular, but I'd come again for a special occasion.
We really enjoyed the ambience and energy. Will return for sure! Brooke was an outstanding waitress.
Awesome farm to table food sourced from local farms and surrounding areas. The service was awesome as well
The food was amazing as promised in fact very difficult to make a choice so we will definitely return to sample more southern comfort food! The wait staff did a wonderful job of answering questions.
Good ambience, food and service. The brunch options are limited but the kitchen seemed flexible in switching options to meet our needs. Very enjoyable Sunday brunch.
Very noisy. Changed rooms but no better. Not a good place to carry on a conversation. One person was gluten free and ordered a gluten free entree as indicated on the menu. Further pointed out several times to server to make sure order indicated gluten free. Order came out with gluten product clearly visible all over the entree. When pointed out server said they would remove it but to be gluten free it should not be exposed to any gluten products. Manager brought out new dish and indicated it would be complimentary. Dish had clearly been in kitchen a while and was dried out. When check came the charge had not been removed. Obviously they didn't care enough to follow through on their commitment to us which we had not asked for. We paid full bill and left. Too many good restaurants in Roswell to bother to go back.
We ate early, 5:15, on a Saturday and it wasn't busy yet, so it was quiet. Waiter was very good, right balance of attentiveness and leave us alone. Grouper was very good, but the pimento cheese fritters were amazing.
Our server was a major disappointment and so not typical for this restaurant.
Incredible specials and main course. The chicken liver pate with bacon marmalade gelee was to die for; beautiful AND exquisitely flavorful. Tandoori Halibut... wait, what?!?
I dove in so quickly, I neglected to take pics! Chef Daniel has an amazing palate and combines adventurously well.
It has been my 2nd time and I enjoyed it as always. The rib-eye was just right. Med-rare is how I take it and is how I got it. Great place for a romantic dinner... brunch on a Sunday and even a business meal during the week.
I really enjoyed our visit. Good food, relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.
I have enjoyed lunch here a couple of times. The food (salads) has been good at lunch and the service okay. The room temperatures vary from room to room, so if you plan to sit in the sunroom area, go prepared with a sweater, as the a/c is full force. My husband and I had dinner here a couple of months ago, and the food was rather disappointing. I had higher expectations and was disappointed at dinner. The restaurant has great ambiance and a great outdoor seating area.
Our waitress was attentive most of the time. At the end of the meal she had gotten some additional tables so we had to wait a bit. It was a special Anniversary. The waitress, manager and chef all wished us a Very Happy Anniversary and we had an anniversary dessert. We like to come to this restaurant for special occasions. The food is good and I really like their short rib.
My son and daughter-in-law treated me for my birthday here. The meal was outstanding and the waitress was so good. They also treated me to a beautiful Birthday Desert
Met my daughter and her partner here for lunch. We pigged out on fried pickle chips, fried green tomatoes, and deviled eggs before ordering salads. The wait staff was kind to serve us a cake we had brought with us. Coffee and then, the check. Very reasonable.
Our second time here. Delicious options, good service
Service is slow
Each time we dine at The Mill Kitchen & Bar we are consistently impressed first and foremost with the people. The wait staff are attentive, informed and informative regarding their menu. They are friendly and take time to exchange more than "May I help you..." Secondly, it is the blending of local food sources with just the right combination of seasonings and food choices. This is a top-notch choice just outside of the hustle and bustle of the Canton Street crowds.
I had the chicken over gravy and the wasn’t done and very chewy and tuff - didnt eat but a coupe of bits .... we had group and others didn’t like there food as well
Service was good, food came out quickly but wasn’t seasoned very well! All in all it was a good experience overall
My eggs were terrible. The French toast crust was HARD (stale???). Nothing I had was good. Later my wife remarked that her lunch was also very poor.
The food was very good. Not super hot but good. Had the smoked salmon croissant and it was delicious. I sent my firstcup of coffee back it was cold. None of the coffee was hot. They need to address that.
2 out of the last 3 times we dined here there were problems with the food ordered, service in general, as well as a really long wait time. There are too many other great places in the area to risk another weekend dinner here. Servers appear to be spread across different rooms and disappear for long periods of time. appetizers came within 15 minutes, so that was acceptable. Another 45 minutes for the entrees. Then 3 out of 4 came and we waited 5 minutes for the 4th; only to have it come out incorrectly and it was delivered by a runner who knew nothing about what was ordered. Waited 10 more minutes for it to be fixed.
Other meals got cold. We were never offered a second second drink and never was checked in on by the waitress, until asked if we wanted dessert.
This place was amazing, except for 1 thing: noise level was intolerable. Food was fantastic, and service was extremely accommodating- especially when we asked to be moved from 1 dining area to the quieter front dining area. Nevertheless, I will go again in future.
