Excellent meal and service. Bruno and Scott were fabulous. Impeccable service and attention to detail. From the blue cheese wedge to the bone in ribeye with a baker the size of a small football and topped off with a seven layer carrot cake served with Madagascar vanilla bean ice cream.....it was all delicious!
The Met was amazing as always. The wait staff are very knowledgeable and will help you put together as memorable meal as your budget allows. Our Waiter had been there 19 years and it showed. The food is amazing, service level is great without interrupting every two bites to see how your doing. The French Onion soup on a cold, wet Seattle evening can brighten the dampest of spirits. Can't say enough good things about "The Met."
Good and service were good. Seating in a banquet for 4 was very cramped
Absolutely amazing dinner....and dining experience. One of my all time favorite restaurants in the world
Great service - the best. Matched by great food. This is a Seattle Original and they kept it in the old style following a 2 month renovation of sorts. Glad to see the food and service were kept up to par and did not falter.
Best steak house in Seattle, bar none.
I rated our service low, not do to our waiter but it took over an hour to get our main course. Our waiter offered free dessert. Food was superior, best Lobster Bisque in the world...
My husband and I have enjoyed your restaurant for many years. He asked me to marry him 11 years ago in your restaurant. Saturday night we brought friends from out of state. We couldn't have had a nicer evening. We started with drinks in the bar and finished with a beautiful steak and seafood dinner. All of us were impressed with the food and wonderful service. We live in Silverdale so it's a quick walk to the ferry and home. Thank you for the great evening.
It was okay. I don’t believe it is worth the price. The French onion soup is amazing though!
The best steak in Seattle and humanely raised and slaughtered according to the recommendations of Dr. Temple Grandin.
Another amazing experience at The Met...when I made the reservation, I asked for a booth but never expected such a great location for a special evening...away from the bar and perfect. ALL of the staff was outstanding. We dropped off our special wine early so they could decant it for us; a service never before offered anywhere. Even the coat check lady was kind and helpful. All in all, a beautiful evening...did I mention the onion rings? Over the top delicious....we will be going back soon.
We have been to the MG several times in the past few years. It has always been a top rated dining experience, except this time. The drinks, mine was a Manhattan Met, was short on depth, just bourbon, your completion, some 60 miles north, "The Bistro at San Martin", that is a Manhattan of depth and substance. You guys need to rise to the occasion. My other nit is the failed crab cakes. I don't remember there being noticeable carrot pieces in the cake, like this time. Also, who ever was cooking them became distracted as the bottom of the cakes were dark and hard, requiring a knife to cut them. There was minimal breading on two of the cakes, as expected from past experience, but the third, it was doughy, about half of it was that way. The Met and the Bistro had been neck and neck on the carb cakes, this time, your cakes were very disappointing. I left a review on the Met's web site as well. I live in Arlington, so coming to Seattle to the Met is a serious effort to be pleased. Not this time. The wedge salads were excellent as was our steaks, but they could not make up for the poor performance on the drinks and crab cakes. The staff was excellent as always, I should have brought up my concerns at the time but I didn't want any bad reflection of the wait staff.
I can now see why the Metropolitan Grill was voted one of the best steakhouses in the United States. Everything we ordered (there were five of us) was prepared perfectly, and our waiter was delightful. The drinks and cocktails he recommended were also spot on, and very delicious. I would definitely come back again the next time I'm in Seattle. A totally wonderful dining experience!
You can just never go wrong with the Met. Pricey, but absolutely worth every penny. Great for a special occasion.
Excellent evening at the Metropolitan Grill. This place never disappoints. Steaks are cooked to perfection. The side choice of root vegetables was a welcome surprise. I wanted the pea salad from the lunch menu and, although it was touch and go for a minute, the waitress found a way to make it happen. The wine list is huge. Perhaps overwhelming but lots of great wines. Highly recommend this place. 😄
Our waiter Victor is amazing! He is friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable about the menu. Go back just for him! He remembers people.
The Met never disappoints. The food is incredible!
Had a great business meal at the Met. The food was fantastic. I had the blackened Prime Rib and it was cooked to perfection and the taste was outstanding. I will go back again when in Seattle.
The steak was over cooked. The food wasn’t delivered all together. The cream brûlée was runny. This is the second bad meal in two years. At $270.00 for two this restaurant needs to get its act together. The only positive experience was the service was impeccable.
We had a birthday dinner for six. Our round table was somewhat in the pathway of the servers and our guests had to "squeeze" in on either side. Our waiter was clearly perturbed either by us or something else. Our service was extremely slow from start to finish. We had to ask bus people to locate our server twice. The reservation was at 7:30 and our entrees did not arrive until 930. My son, whose birthday we were celebrating, had to run off immediately after finishing his entrée because the service took so long. It made for an uncomfortable dining experience. The food was fine but the overall experience was actually stressful as we were concerned about Server's attitude AND the slowness of the meal. This experience cost $1,000. My son always requests the Met for special occasions. We have celebrated several there but will reconsider before taking a group again.
Good, quality food.
Wonderful experience. Will return
Save room for the carrot cake!!! Everything we ate was delicious. I had the 4oz prime filet and 4 oz American Wagyu filet, my husband had the ribeye, and we split the Japanese tartare. One of the best meals we've ever had.
This is one of my favorite places for a full on steak night in the Western US. They have a broad menu, comprehensive wine list and the service has always been on point.
What a wonderful place for a slow paced meal. The service was exceptional and the food, as always, beyond compare.
Unfortunately this was a dinner I’d rather forget and that was due to the quality of food mainly. My family and I have been loyal members to the Met for the last three decades, we come in for special occasions and always look forward to the experience we’ve come to expect. Our dinner Saturday night was not up to par however, three different steaks were ordered and all three were not good, one had to be sent back for being undercooked after requesting medium well and wasn’t served until everyone else had finished eating. The service was decent and the server refunded the steak that was sent back and ultimately wasn’t eatable but the food overall was sub par. As we drove home and discussed our meal we realized we should let someone at the Met know. I sent them a message via Facebook that night and a rep responded stating a manager would follow up, however that was four days ago and I’ve checked back once and was told thanks for my patience. Not only did this meal wreck my family’s mental picture of the Met but their lack of follow up makes me feel they don’t value me as the loyal customer that I have been since the early 90’s. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend the Met as I wouldn’t want this same experience to happen to anyone else, especially considering the price you pay for this upper end food.
Had a great time! Will definitely go again! The service was amazing as well as the food. Went for my birthday this weekend!
First time ever I left The Met less than happy. Kobe Meatballs were outstanding. The top cap 35 Day aged steak was ok. Nothing like what I usually get here. It was dry for medium rare. Service was just ok. Ordered wine a few minutes before our meal arrived. I was almost done with my steak when it finally arrived. Same with desert. Ordered a desert wine at the same time as the we ordered desert. All the deserts came out, but we had to wait again for the wine. I’ll chalk this up to an off night because I’ve always had exceptional services and food here.
Always a great time. Delicious food and amazing service make this my go to steak place
Wonderful meal and service! Such a fun night!
Slow at times
The Metropolitan Grill is a reliably excellent downtown institution; great spot for work-related meetings as there are booths so you don't have to listen to others' conversations or worry about being overheard. The service is excellent, the food always very very good.
Service was slow 45 mins to serve our meal over the lunch hour.
Enjoyed the meal, service and ambiance. Prime rib was delicious. Great value.
We had the most amazing meal. We shared a 16 oz cut of the waygu beef, French onion soup and Cesar salad. We would go back anytime. Excellent service.
Always a great experience at The Met
Client dinner. They were great. Mike took good care of us.
Overall, I was super disappointed. The restaurant was cozy, friendly and authentic, but the food was not exceptional as expected for the price. The food was good, but nothing super special that has me wishing to return anytime soon. The wine list and options were good. The bread and butter was the best thing I ate!!! The rib-eye was solidly good - even better than either of the offered Wagyus. We got our steaks cooked medium to medium well and they were very 'chewy' and did not have the taste and flavor anticipated and certainly did not match the price. The au jus was really good and essential to the steaks flavor. The baked potato was very good, but how can you mess up a baked potato. The lobster mac and cheese was just okay- a little fishy tasting and not super cheesy. The service was mostly attentive. If I returned, I would go for the ribeye or porterhouse for the best value.
