About The Metropolitan Grill
The Metropolitan Grill. The moment you step into the Metropolitan Grill, you know you have entered a classic steakhouse. Guests enter through tall mahogany doors to be greeted by tuxedo clad Maitre D’s. Cuts of beef are showcased in a glass display in the front entryway. Framed photographs of celebrities, sports heroes and local politicians, all frequent visitors to The Met, line the walls.
At the Metropolitan Grill, the focus is on the Prime beef, American and Japanese Wagyu. Steaks are seared over the high heat of the “Iron Wood of the World,” imported mesquite charcoal, ensuring the most tender, juicy steaks available. Metropolitan Grill Chefs personally select each cut that is served to guests.
The Metropolitan Grill’s award-winning wine list showcases the definitive steakhouse selection of premium West Coast red wines, with special emphasis on Cabernets, Merlots and Meritage.

The Metropolitan Grill Ratings and Reviews
Great steakhouse - one of the best in town. Metropolitan Grill has been around for some time and they do not disappoint. We were here for our anniversary and tried their 40 oz. bone-in ribeye for two. It could have fed 4 people easily. We took 1/2 of it home and enjoyed it the next day as well. Great friendly service, our server Jim was very pleasant and helpful, got a nice surprise at the end with a special anniversary dessert. Very happy with the evening
excellent beef, as always. We had a table for six with guests from out of country co-celebrating an upcoming important event.
The sommelier was chatty but well informed.
Unfortunately, the wait staff seemed rushed, harried, and at one point, they actually bickered with each other in front of everyone as the beef was being cut at the table. The young man replenishing water and clearing the table interrupted conversations repeatedly (by leaning in front of the persons speaking as he filled water glasses). The waitress spilled a glass of red wine over one of our guests.
I would come back, as we have several times in the past, but the wait captain needs to have a long talk with several of the staff.
I was entertaining a business guest. I ordered the SW salad with calamari. The salad was over dressed and soggy; the calamari was over cooked, tough and cold. My guest enjoyed his steak sandwich and was gracious enough to not ask about me not eating half of my salad.
We booked a table to celebrate a birthday,we arrived quite early but this was no problem for the restaurant. We were shown to our table and our server Dhoia greeted us warmly before giving us our menus. Dhoia was attentive and informative without being intrusive as she took our orders and served our meals. Her pleasant disposition added to our overall dining experience.
We were hesitant to go here, but we decided to try again after bad experience with a host last December. This time our hostess was great (friendly and greeted us) and seated promptly. Our sever was Mackenzie and he was fantastic too. Our overall experience was great for our god son's first experience at this restaurant.
We stopped by for dessert and a drink. We were sad that cherries jubilee was taken off the menu, but the bananas foster was to die for. So sweet and delicious. We also had a few cocktails, and they were strong yet tasty. The staff was very kind and sympathized with us about the missing dessert item.
I had made reservation for my husband and I to celebrate his homecoming from a deployment. We were seated right way, our server Noi was very helpful with picking out drinks and explaining some of the menu items,we had never been to the restaurant before. Everything came in a timely manner, and Noi made sure to check in on us. The best part of dinner was the amazing, mouth watering ohmi filet I had. I'm so happy I decided to try it. Highly recommend. At the end when we were looking for a dessert, Noi walks over and places a burnt cream on the table and thanks my husband for his service. That warmed my heart and I thank you Noi for your kind gesture. Overall one the best experience we have had at a restaurant. We will be coming back.
Came here for my boyfriend's birthday, and we had a wonderful experience. The service was excellent (and I find this level of service rare in Seattle), and the food was high quality and delicious. We ordered the lobster mac and cheese, almond-crusted scallops, and a spinach salad as appetizers and everything was great. We also got the ribeye steak and pot roast- it was a ton of food, but well worth it. The ribeye was the best I've ever had. The atmosphere reminds me of the "old school" style restaurants I used to go to in New York and New Jersey when I was a kid. It's cozy and welcoming and comfortable. The waiter was friendly and got to know us as people, which is important to me. We even found out he's our neighbor! I was also impressed that they surprised us with a birthday crème brûlée. Very great experience! Thank you.
My 2nd visit in last few months, visiting from out of country. Had a reservation and was awarded a terrible table when many others were available. Was placed adjacent a servers cart which was moved in & out and when speaking to the Host, he said it was going to do that. He did not offer a substitute table (clearly available) or really cared. The serving table was actually used for placing dirty dishes and cardboard boxes for take home leftovers that we were able to view throughout the dining experience. So, if you want to go to a place that thinks you should thank them for being able to eat there, this is your place. The low score on ambience is a reflection of this experience. The Sommelier said nothing when opening the wine, was disinterested when I commented on the wine (did not respond) and I guess cause my bottle was only $90. My 1st visit was more enjoyable. The waiter was better but not particularly engaged but if not for him service would be 1 star. We also ate at Shucker's and Capitol Grill on this trip and both were far more inviting, interactive and enjoyable. Not sure I will be back to test the 3 is the charm. Food was good+ but not spectacular.
Business lunch - I hadn't been here for a couple years, but still love the food. Ambience is a little dated and could use a little refresh, but food is incredibly well prepared and generously portioned. Wait staff is typically great - ours was a little less attentive than usual, but did not affect our meal.
The only thing that detracted from our experience was the sports bar atmosphere during a football game. No one in our party is a fan of the sports bar environment and we were all disappointed that such an otherwise classy place was so loud and disruptive. I will definitely bee looking at the game schedule before I make reservations next time
I was excited to take some out of town friends to the pre-Seahawk brunch the Metropolitan Grill is hosting prior to Seahawks early home games. We had a reservation and were seated quickly, and water was served on the table immediately. We didn’t see our server for another 10 minutes, and when he did come by he apologized for not being by sooner and thanked us for our patience... And said he’d be back soon... He returned 10 minutes later and we placed all orders- drinks, appetizers and meal - as we had no idea when he’d be back. The drinks came a while later and they got one wrong, but quickly fixed it... Then we had the burger cut into 1/4s to share as an appetizer and it was perfect. Then our meals were served. Three of us had bagels with lox, and one had a scramble. The scramble was ok... Nothing special, but ok. The bagels were terrible. All were hard, but one in particular was inedible... it was as if it had been stale, and then toasted too much, and then sat out until it cooled. It was seriously too hard to eat... the “fixings” with it (lox, onion, cream cheese, etc.) were ok, but nothing special. The other two bagels were also awful, but not as bad... It was truly disappointing. We chose not to complain or send the bagels back as we needed to get to the game - and everything had taken so long already. We won’t make the mistake to go to the Met again. We stopped at The Cherry Street Public House today for breakfast, and their “salmon toast”, which is served on a bagel, was perfect... It was as good as we should have been served at The Met.
Phay was our server, if I remembered his name correctly. He was super nice and extremely knowledgeable/helpful! All the staff was super nice. The food was absolutely amazing! We had the blackened prime rib, macaroni and cheese, asparagus, and almond crusted scallops. And looking over at other tables and other peoples happy faces made us want everything on the menu! HAHA! The wine list was impressive and extensive! Atmosphere was beautiful and cozy for our date. We will definitely be coming back and recommending to everyone!
I hadn’t been here for maybe 5 years but once again this place was amazing. The wait staff is friendly and always asking if we were happy. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a really good steak and doesn’t mind paying good money for it. This was our anniversary and we were given a free desert which was nice. If you get the chance, go.
Our party of 5 had a great waiter. The food was solid, as expected. However, the sommelier was arrogant and not helpful. I was disappointed with the stemware as well as not having a true wine decanter for one of our wines which truly needed it. Our second wine arrived after we had started our meals and without any time for aeration . The response from the sommelier when we asked was that "people change their minds". This was the only negative aspect of our dining experience. It was a significant enough negative experience that I did relay it to the dining room manager.
The Metropolitan Grill does not disappoint!.. We had a fantastic evening spending a couple hours enjoying wine, a delicious appetizer, excellent steak and seafood entrees, authentic ny cheesecake, and a perfectly prepared cappuccino to top it all off... Our server, Mike, was a true pro!!! Lovely...
