The Mermaid Oyster Bar
Phenomenal. Great happy hour, excellent food, and excellent service.
Came here for a happy hour with my gf, and we both loved it! Great ambience and specials.
Always a great experience. Definately go for Happy Hour. The Oysters and Shrimp sliders were amazing. Always busy so make sure to make a reservation.
Portion size way too small for the price. Not worth the time or money at all!
Great happy hour seven days a week with tons of choices for both appetizers and drinks. Lots of cocktails, beer and wine choices. Everything was delicious and service was outstanding. Loved the restaurant. Very quaint
I went here 2 years ago , it used to be one of my fav restaurants, but this time I came back , a bit disappointed. The food was not as expected
The oysters and salmon tartar tacos were very good, but the red snapper entrée was just ok.
Great happy hour dinner experience, really enjoyed it. Nice ambience, great service, excellent food and value for money.
Love the Mermaid Inn always delicious and consistent.
Simple but stylish. Good food in a charming atmosphere, with friendly staff and a menu that will meet the needs of fish lovers and others
Always the best clans and oysters for cheapest price in NYC (during their happy hours).
Quaint restaurant. Service and good were both good. Best part of the experience was the free mini pudding dessert and fish fortune.
This was my second time eating at The Mermaid Oyster Bar. The service and food were fantastic! Their happy hour food and drink specials make it well worth it. A member of my party has some serious allergies and the wait staff and kitchen staff were more than appropriate in dealing with her allergies.
I would certainly return next time I am in NYC
Amazing oysters. Excellent service, and good happy hour prices/coctails/oysters. Will go again.
One of the most surprising, incredible restaurants my wife and I have stumbled on after 25 years living in the Village. The chef and the menu are ASTOUNDING: there's nothing like this place, combining Raw Bar classics with Peruvian Ceviches and other amazing new raw fish combos. I recommend this beyond "recommendation:" all raw bar/ceviche-lovers MUST find an evening to go to this amazing restaurant.
Wonderful grand platter, hush puppies and lobster fritters. I always enjoy coming here.
The food was excellent, the service was excellent and we had a fabulous evening.
megusta mucho siempre boy
Wonderful service, the freshest raw bar in NYC. Go for happy hour, it’s a great deal.
I was turned off when out of nowhere the waitress gave us our check. Wife and I had just finished dinner and were talking about ordering another 12 oysters to share since we were both still a little hungry. Before I had a chance to order the waitress showed up with our check. At no time did we suggest that we were in a hurry or indicate we were ready to go. I took this gesture as being asked to leave. Very odd experience.
We went during Happy Hour. We were so full from the oysters and appetizer specials that we were to full to order meals. The complimentary chocolate pudding cleansed the palate perfectly.
We are committed to not only come back, but order meals ta boot
I love this place! The seafood is consistently fresh and delicious. Happy Hour allows customers to sample a variety of fresh dishes, some from the main entree section. I’ve introduced many foodies to this place since I first discovered it and it’s always been a hit! The only slight downside is that the noise level can get very energetic during Happy Hour so you need to speak louder to be heard by your dining companions.
The food is not special. The servers could have been nicer.
One of my favorite close-to-home restaurants.
Always delicious and consistent with great service!!
I usually go to the one on UWS: same menu, smaller place, good atmosphere, busy at 6, instead of 5...Cameron, our server, was amazing! Friendly and attentive: same with rest of the staff. Will go to this location again!!
Salmon overpriced, did not expect it in the broth with mushrooms
Simply amazing. Will be back and recommend to everyone.
Michaela was our server and her service was excellent. However, we did not like the bottle of wine we ordered and the manager told us that he could not change it even though ee were going to order their most expensive red. The wine list is very limited. So it was not the best start to the evening. We fish tacos were good so was the salmon we ordered except the portions are extremely small and we ended up ordering french fires and lobster fritters. The fries were tasteless, and the fritters were overdone and almost burned. Overall not sure if we can recommend this place.
What a delightful surprise! We do not usually choose a seafood restuarant when out for dinner in the city since we live near the shore. But we do love oysters and the menu was appealing to both of us. First, we loved that the "happy hour" applied to tables and not just the bar. We started with a dozen of the chef special oysters which did not disappoint. We followed it with the lobster knuckles which were bits of sweet lobster in butter served in an escargot dish. Delish! I had the scallops which were cooked perfectly. My husband had the fire roasted bass. It was very good, but the lemon was a bit too over-powering. Forgot to mention that the wine selection is varied and the cocktails are fun. It seems they do not serve coffee or dessert, or at least we were not offered any. They do serve a complimentary chocolate pudding which was good, but it made us want more!
Great waiting staff, food was exceptional and drinks were great!
It was phenomenal. My date and I really enjoyed the place. Cameron was an excellent server. So was the server before him! She was excellent. We enjoyed the cute fish fortune treat at the end which was adorable. Such a nice touch to the end of the experience. We definitely will be back!
I’m from New England so I’m very picky about seafood but this is the best place for seafood that I’ve found since moving here. This is my favorite go to restaurant in NYC. Never disappoints. Perfect for a weekend dinner, date night, or special occasion!
Everything was excellent.. service and food.. Surprised there was happy hour on a Sunday! Will definitely be returning!
Perfect spot for a date
Good spot. Thank you
Oysters were really fresh.
great food and amazing service. One of my favorite places in the city!
We love Mermaid inn - period. It is a restaurant on demand but everyone - from the management to the staff - is very friendly and extremely accommodating when we show up with our 2 and 6 year old oyster fans :) highly recommend!!
Mermaid is consistently a wonderful local eatery. The service is friendly and very good, food fantastic.
Special note: the ‘mini’ New England Clam Chowder, was excellent.
Great food & service! Our waitress was amazing and thoughtfull
