The Mermaid Oyster Bar is a warm, friendly, casually sophisticated neighborhood meeting place for dining, drinking and socializing. We serve seafood inspired from the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean. All our food is extremely fresh. “From the sea to the table” is how we like to put it.

Happy hour daily from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. $1.50 oysters & clams, drink specials and Mermaid favorites like our fish tacos, shrimp sliders and more.

It’s still my favorite oyster bar in NYC! Great value, great food and drinks, good service, been going there for years! Best Happy hour oysters! Love the shrimp sliders and fish tacos!

Mermaid is a treasure. Oysters and clams the freshest. Food is all good and we’ve had a lot of different dishes over time. Happy hour is also a plus. But the staff really makes it special….Jason you’re the best.

This has become our favorite neighborhood spot. 2 menu highlights are seared calamari salad and whole Branzino which is simply outstanding. I believe one of the best prepared whole fish dishes among the neighboring restaurants. One thing I would add to the menu is vegetable sides you can order with the main dish. Like mushrooms, potatoes, etc. Definitely a great place and value.

Was seated outdoors as Friday was hopping. I come here regularly and every time it’s a top notch experience. The happy hour oysters are great. Service is impeccable and friendly. You can’t go wrong here.

Our server and the food were good, but our experience with someone who appeared to be a floor manager at the end of the night ruined the experience. We were at no point told that we had to give up our table at a certain time, and the restaurant was not at all crowded, with plenty of other available tables. Yet a woman approached us accusatorily about 2 hours into our meal telling us that we needed to move and finish our drinks at the bar as the next reservation had been waiting for more than 15 minutes. We were still ordering drinks, so we were surprised at this gesture. We looked at all of the empty tables around us and were thoroughly confused. Needless to say, we huddled in the bar and chugged our drinks and will not be returning in the future, despite this being a neighborhood favorite.

Went for a quiet birthday dinner. Raw Oysters only the Wellfleet had nice fresh ocean flavor, others were maybe not in season since they were tasteless. Strongly recommend ordering the Parker House Rolls, served hot were very good. Iceberg Wedge salad was very good and big enough to share between 2 people. The 2 fish dishes were very good, you may want to add an additional small plate since they come with a very small portion of side veggies. Passionfruit Caipirinha was very good.

Mermaid has the best fresh oysters and clams. Happy hour is a must. Now I absolutely looove the whole grilled branzino. The staff is super! Jason the manager great and treats staff well. Love this place.
