The Mermaid Oyster Bar
Service is always great. Can’t beat the delicious happy hour oysters.
Perfect! Love the cocktails and the oysters could not have been more delicious!
hope they have some happy hour dinner menus! but their happy hour oyster was good!
Food was fantastic! Only issue we had was that one of our dishes came out very late. Otherwise, this place is definitely one of my favorites.
Such a great little (not so) secret.. happy hour, great service too. Not too crowded, not too noisy. Lovely.
Excellent. Nice staff, great menu. Friendly service and good food
Amazing place! Atmosphere was beautiful and service was great. Had so much fun that I went back twice during happy hour xx
Delicious oysters, but had to wait a bit for a table with a reservation.
A treat every time!
Very cozy ambience. Lobster knuckles and oysters were delicious. Service was fantastic. We would go back!
Excellent food. Friendly and very efficient service by entire staff. The noise level was literally 90 to 95db at points during the meal (I checked on my app a few times). I’d go back for sure just not during a busy peak time when it is so loud.
Oysters were tasty as always. Usually I’ve found service to be excellent. On Friday, our server seemed a bit off her game that evening, but those things happen.
Always love visiting the Mermaid. Great neighborhood & great food!
This was my second time at this establishment. I was very impressed with the quality of the food and drinks, as well as the outstanding service and friendliness of the staff.
Absolutely going back again.
Food is always good, including the happy hour oysters. Best fish and chips I’ve had in a while and the fish tacos are excellent. Good people, good service. Can get a little pricey if you get into bottles of wine.
Buono il grand platter di crudi, con diverse varietà di ostriche. Atmosfera tranquilla, servizio un po' veloce.
great restaurant — neighborhood fem
Be sure to request a table in the back room unless you like noise and extreme crowding. Service was efficient, courteous and helpful. Tables are very close together but the back room was tolerable, at least after departure of particularly noisy neighbors.
Went for the NYE prefix.. super reasonably priced compared to others out there but honestly felt a bit rushed the whole night.
We were there new year's Eve and a shame that they didn't mention that only a menu was served upon reservation. Food is good and nice service.
Great service and food selection. Oysters were great!
Delicious oysters, lobster rolls and cocktails. Staff super friendly and accommodating 😍
Oysters should still be alive when served and they were not. This raises a red flag in terms of how fresh they are. Other than that everything was delicious.
We love meeting at mermaid!
I’ve been coming to Mermaid for years and I keep coming back because it’s just an amazing restaurant. Their happy hour offerings are very well priced, the ambience is perfect, and the staff (especially the manager, Joel and one of the servers, Cameron) is simply fantastic. Only complaint is that it’s so booked all of the time — but that’s to be expected!
The food was very good. The service was very spotty. Left us for along time waiting at table. Ordered bottle of wine and glasses stayed empty for quite some time.
Great happy hour!
It was good - not great. A bit too loud. Very difficult to talk. Waitress was just okay. The lobster rolls were good as was the salmon and the scallops. It seems a good place for millennials.
One of my favorite place in Greenwich Village to easily have a great time. It’s always fun eating at the mermaid oyster bar. We had the yellowfin tuna crudo, lobster knuckles “escargot” style, strip bass, and fries. For drinks, a spicy margarita and beer. The waitress and servers were very friendly and welcoming. The crowd is boisterous. The food is delicious. The strip bass excellent!
The Mermaid was a real treat. A very cozy spot tucked in the Village. The oysters were tremendous. The crab cake was the best I can remember. The oyster shooter was a great way to start the evening. The service was outstanding. The decor is just what you'd want for an East Coast Oyster Bar. I'll be back.
Absolutely loved this place!! Great happy hour, the oysters are tasty and SO CHEAP and the clams are fat and buttery. The salmon tartar is to die for, as I’m sure much more of their food is that we’ll have to try!! This will for sure be my new go-to spot for raw bar and light fare.
Food is terrific and service is friendly, but man did I feel rushed! I get that they want to turn tables over quickly, but I barely put down my fork, and the next course arrived. On a Friday evening, a dinner of oysters, a shared starter, main courses, and complimentary dessert should take more than 35 minutes! Slow it down.
Great food and service! Will definitely be back!
The Mermaid Oyster bar is always my go-to spot for happy hour! With reasonable cocktails and $1.25 oysters, the prices can’t be beat. But the affordable price doesn’t compromise the quality. The oysters are always fresh and delicious, the calamari is plentiful and the mini lobster rolls are divine.
This is a favorite spot for us. The food is outstanding, the service always attentive, and the atmosphere/vibe perfect.
Food always great, wish ya'll were open for lunch as well. Our server Caitlyn has waited on me before and she is an absolute doll, attentive polite and joyful!
Very good fish tacos made better by the happy hour value of oysters and New England clam chowder as appetizers.
Great location and outstanding service. Enjoyed the ambience and decor.
