The Mermaid Inn Uptown
Swim on over for Mermaid Inn favorites like the lobster roll with Old Bay fries, seared skate wing, Mermaid fish tacos and the Happiest of Happy Hours.
he uptown location also features an expanded raw bar, brunch and the same casual and cozy "shore feel" as the downtown spot.
Danny Abrams, who has owned and operated some of the city's most beloved restaurants (including The Red Cat and The Harrison), is the principle owner, and Michael Cressotti is their corporate executive chef.
Lovely east coast decor, great food (especially the seafood) and good service
Incredibly fresh oysters, and amazing seafood dishes. Our go-to for a fabulous seafood heavy dinner on the UWS.
Food is simple yet elegant. All of the entrees are flawless, but the highlights of the evening were the crispy Brussels sprouts with Pecans and the cocktail "dark and stormy"
Edie and I had a wonderful time.. The staff was attentive and always serving. This is our “go to” place for dining.
It was not unusual to walk into this particular restaurant on a Friday evening to find it full of a mix of families, coworkers, and couples on dates—indeed, that’s the reason so many people love the Mermaid Inn. It’s always an excellent meal in a cozy setting with fantastic, friendly, well-informed staff. I made the reservation a week and a half ago because I was interested in the seared duck breast special. But that is not to say their seafood isn’t delicious; it is. I have never had a meal that I didn’t rave about from Mermaid, and while I expected a portion of a duck breast that was well-prepared and plated, I can honestly say that I couldn’t have been happier when an entire duck breast showed up perfectly seared and seasoned. The root vegetables and frisée salad were wonderful accompaniments, and the complimentary chocolate mousse is always a delightful finish. Many thanks, and kudos for another job well done!
Amazing happy hour menu items and signature cocktails. Ennoy tasting in small plates or indulge in great entrée.
I brought my elderly parents there. Little bit noisy because it was packed with happy hour customers. I love small portions and choices of the menu. Raw oysters and clams are all 1.25 they were delicious! It will be our regular place for sure
So delicious and such flawless service. Every time.
As usual excellent in every way
Happy hour is great. The food is fresh and service is 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
took my girlfriend here for her birthday..we got there at 6:30 to take advantage of the best happy hour around...got the lobster roll, 2 dozen oysters, and fried oysters to start...i had the chorizo crusted cod and she had the lobster knuckles..a few martinis and beers and it was a perfect meal and date
Incredible food, attentive, kind & funny server, and so intimate & cozy! I can't wait to go back!
The table for 5 was very cramped. A booth with a chair at the end doesn’t really work
The staff was very accommodating and professional. The food was good. I liked my kale caesar salad and linguine w clams. The dining room was full and quite loud.
Fantastic experience. Offered a happy hour special even at the dining table. Wonderful service. Highly recommend.
Mermaid Inn is a fabulous restaurant with excellent value, superb food preparation, and lovely service.
A great neighborhood place with solid seafood offerings and a nice bar.
This is a go to restaurant for us and it never disappoints. Really good food and excellent service. On this occasion they were particularly nice . They seated us early before our entire party had arrived and did not pressure us to order quickly or leave. They were not crowded but the courtesy was still very much appreciated.
Lobster roll delicious plus the brioche bun and old bay fries. Husband had the chorizo crusted cod which was fresh and delicately prepared. Service was attentive. Very pleasant dining experience. We sat in back room which offered a quieter atmosphere.
Drinks had a bit too much ice. It was a birthday dinner so as a surprise two cups of choc pudding with whipped cream were delivered complete with candle. Nice perk! We’ll be back.
Food was awful, and I had the “famous lobster roll.”
When I am in town I always stop here one evening for my fix of $1.25 oysters. The service was, as always perfect. Oysters were fresh.
I will be back again on my next trip....
The food was sub par. I asked for cod simply grilled with a drop of oil. It was saturated with oil. Ditto with airloom carrots and sautéed kale. They took back cod - I waited at least 20 min- and brought replacement which still was oily. All very expensive. I didn’t enjoy any part of the meal and will not be returning.
Solid brunch experience. Service was quick and accurate - very important when eating with children!
Went there twice in one week when visiting friends. It’s probably the best deal around if u go there during happy hour, the oysters are fresh and crisp, so are calamaretti and shrimp/avocado sliders. Great and superdiversified crowd, all ages and looks. Attentive waiters, friendly, owners/managers really take care. Highly recommended.
Jeremy was our waitress and she was lovely. The staff was very prompt to refill our waters and make sure our tables are clean. We really enjoyed the oysters and the suggestions that everyone made. The ambience was lovely and overall we give it five stars! We will be back!
Great service and food and atmosphere...
maybe a little too loud but otherwise a wonderful experience
Delicious meal as always.
Always good...so much so, they ran out of the Challah French toast! Most disappointing. Next time!
Never been before but will DEFINITELY go back. Food was exceptional and you can't beat oysters for $1.25 - and they were terrific, as were both the salmon and the roasted cod. Service was great too.
We come here every week for happy hour - but this Friday I thought the service was not good at all as our waiter was very unpleasant, bordering on rude
The food was excellent. My one advice is to serve the clam chowder in a nice receptacle than a thin walled mug. Everything else was great.
The restaurant is special and the food delicious. However the maitre de, check in desk, mod is full of themselves. We were 5 minutes late after i called and advised accordingly and we were treating like ex convicts. Too bad.great space, great restaurant, horrible attitude at reception
Wonderful! Thank you
Great happy hour deals!
Mermaid Inn is the perfect seafood restaurant that every neighborhood needs. The menu is imaginative, the food fresh and delicious, the service professional . We are fortunate to have this as our neighborhood fish spot.
Fresh and well-cooked seafood with an enticing happy hour makes the Inn very popular for good reason.
Awesome service, really lovely environment, great menu and deelish food!
Cheerful charming restaurant with delicious food
Been to Mermaid Oyster Bar (Greenwich Village) number of times, but this was first time uptown. Loved it :) Bigger than downtown, but still has that cozy feel. Food / Service is equally excellent. Good job! Many thanks.
Love it here, but even though we had a reservation they still gave my 80yo mom a hard time about what table we could have. But it was great otherwise.
