Great hAppy hour
Everything about Mermaid in was terrific! Great service, lobster roll, fish tacos, sides of Brussel Sprouts & roasted beets were outstanding!
favorite place. love that I can get them to blacken fish tacos and still give me one fried~
Service was excellent the food well prepared and delicious atmosphere was quiet enough for conversation. Had a good meal at a reasonable price.
Best lobster rolls in NYC!
The waiter was great, the food was excellent. My sister in law said she would think about the French Toast for days. My 8 year old ordered off the menu and our server didn't even blink , smile and she got what she wanted.
We love this venue and go once or twice a week. I LOVE the oysters , the cod, calamari , I could go on and on lol :) top notch
Best brunch in NYC!
Went to celebrate our anniversary, bway show at 2, reservations for 6. We walked to UWS from the theater. We were about 30 minutes early for our reservation they seated us right away. Happy hour is available 5-7 even on weekends. Food and service were great. Gave complimentary glass of champagne for us to toast our anniversary.
I would highly recommend this restaurant! My Pomegranate Margarita and Mermaid Fish Taco were to die for!
The service was excellent and we really enjoyed the fish tacos.
Wonderful. Excellent service and superb food served in a spacious and stylish environment.
The food is consistently great and for seafood, cooked perfectly. Wish the seating was better. Our table always seems to be an afterthought, a way to crowd another two people in somewhere. Always feels like we are sitting in the hallway.
The happy hour menu is a great deal. You have the opportunity to order several small plates, all of which are flavorful and delicious, and wine is only $8.50. I was full and the bill was $44. A lot of money to be sure but not for a meal in Manhattan.
My parents came to town and we visited for dinner. Lovely service, wonderful food, and great service!
Great ambience and menu. Fun place for a date night.
Our waitress was awesome believe her name was Miriam ? Loved her!
Bartender was great
Lobster knuckles lacked flavor
Very noisy; hate to communicate
Oysters at happy hour were very good... and inexpensive... salmon tartare excellent. the striped bass special entree was not good, should have sent it back. i asked if it was wild striper and waiter said yes but it not, clearlyt farmed - was that tiny little branzino filet - on a weird bed of squash and mushrooms, tasteless and expensive.... stick with the happy hour menu.
Go for happy hour and try a bit of everything. The 2-3 bites an item is perfect. I highly recommend the fish tacos, shrimp slider, and house salad. The Pink flamingo is also nice and light.
Came at 5pm for pre-ballet dinner. Started with the $5 for two fried oysters off the Happy Hour menu and a glass of the HH white. Then had the linguini with clams! Delicious, not as garlicy as in some Italian places, very lemony and with arugula on top and 6 lovely clams! Enjoyed my little cup of chocolate pudding. Service very nice and consistent throughout even when got more crowded.
Wish there was one on UES!
I wish you would work on your wine list both bottles and by the glass. I should be able to get a good not great glass of white for under $16 and a bottle for $50 or so. Most other restaurants in the area include this price point
The food is always great and all the people who work there are extremely nice and helpful.
Everything was great except the wine. Wine is too cheap
Lovely meal in the outdoor area! The service was just attentive enough. The Gouda Mac& cheese with lobster was amazing and the shaved Kale salad and crab cake appetizer perfectly hit the spot with a glass of Prosecco to accompany it. Definitely a great spot for dinner and drinks with a friend or with a date!
I think there's potential for this place to improve. I requested a quiet table and was given the skimpiest table in the corner where the door to the patio was which was kind of disappointing considering all the empty booths. The ambience is lovely but like I said when you get seated at a below par table it kind of knocks down your experience a bit. The happy hour menu was cute and I say that because the portion size is meant for a doll (not an exaggeration). While adorable, I wanted a cup of clam chowder not an American Girl doll camping mug size. It was probably most frustrating because the food was delicious and had I known the taco and clam chowder was that small I would've ordered an actual appetizer. Now the drinks, I struggled with. A mango margarita without mango juice---yuck. This restaurant can definitely afford to add mango juice to their bar tab because drinking mango flavored clear liquor was really dreadful. Our server was really friendly but did not spend enough time at the table, she kept rushing off...maybe they were short staffed that night? I would go back but not for happy hour.
Food and service always a pleasure. Upper west side needs restaurants like this.
Great brunch menu. Staff was very accommodating in getting us a table in a desired location. Waiter service was excellent too. Very nice ambiance.
Excellent and very popular seafood restaurant on the UWS. The food was great, as was the service. My only complaints were about the noise level and how packed in the tables were. I could have easily leaned just over a little bit to my left and started eating the entree of the person sitting at the adjacent table.
The food was below average. Service was ok. Nothing special about this place. If you fancy some good food then prob not the place to go.
I had a 3 eggs and style with potatoes and sausage. I asked for scrambled eggs and they were not runny at all. It’s basically stir fry eggs. Sausage were fine but I wouldn’t pay 15 dollars for it.
Birthday celebration, good food and service. Looking forward to going back soon.
Consistently wonderful food and atmosphere! Definitely a favorite place!
Great staff, very good service and tasty food - this place continues to deliver high quality, consistently.
Love it so good. All the food is great, service is outstanding.
Great food, location And atmosphere! Waiter who took over our table was pushy to get us out. We still had drinks to finish! Other than this annoying situation, you have to try this seafood restaurant out! Well done
Mermaid is oyster happy hour as always was a treat!
Our reservation was on time and, as always, the food was terrific as was the service.
Service and cocktail excellent! Great, get to know you place! Will be back.
Great experience!!!! From the food to the care and attention of the entire Team this is a resturant that's not to be missed!!!! They have a great Happy Hour and make a reservation so you don't have to wait to long to experience this gem!
Food was delicious, but service was slow
Love their Happy Hour for Oysters and the "Hot and Dirty" cocktail!
