The Mermaid Inn Uptown
Swim on over for Mermaid Inn favorites like the lobster roll with Old Bay fries, seared skate wing, Mermaid fish tacos and the Happiest of Happy Hours.
he uptown location also features an expanded raw bar, brunch and the same casual and cozy "shore feel" as the downtown spot.

Party of 6. One persons food arrived cold. Steak ordered was tough Noise level was very high.
Food was excellent.
Food was delicious. The restaurant should have a little more light so you can see read the menu and see what you’re eating.
From the time we stepped into the Mermaid and we saw the servers lined up one could tell immediately that this was not your average joint. Our Server was Arleen, not only did she know every item , she presented them to perfection. We loved the Oysters and the littleneck as well as the Lobster roll
We’ all be back in no time!
Mermaid Inn is one of our favs. We had the lobster roll and it was great. Best happy hour in NYC!
We have never had a bad meal or bad service at Mermaid Inn. I highly recommend it for any occasion.
Happy hour at the Mermaid Inn can’t be beat! Everyone is there for the same thing! Platers of raw clams and oyster! Plus delicious lobster special on Sundays. You can taste so many of their entrees for a small price and tasting portion.
Been here before for dinner/happy hour and it’s great. Maybe brunch isn’t the vibe here or it was just off the day we went but our server was horrible and rude. Food was fine, nothing I’d go back for and there was no ambiance whatsoever. Overall a very disappointing experience.
Great place. Great food and service. Second time there. I will be back.
Good food and service. The wait staff and front of house staff were very good at what they do.
Everything was great, except the level of noise and music. It is deafening in there, but we love the food and the service, so we keep coming back.
Great food !!! They have great happy hour but also a great regular dinner menu. Great service !! Overall a great experience
The Mermaid charm never quits. From packing in the outstandingly fresh Happy Hour oysters and the HH small plates and on through the appetizers and main dishes Mermaid has so many wonderful, tasty choices. Loved the roast beets which converted a non-beet eater at our table.
This is the only happy hour that the old and young line up at 5pm to get into on the upper westside!!!
Great food and warm vibe. Getting a bit too popular and wait times are growing so best to go on a weekday to avoid the crowds. Still worth the wait though!
Great new neighborhood find
As always - an excellent time, an excellent meal. Our home away from home.
Great food and atmosphere!
We always have a good experience here. The food is always excellent and the service friendly and professional. The atmosphere has a lively and energetic vibe, always adds fun to the dining experience
Overbooked, crowded, noisy. Server too forward in asking if diner was finished. Busboys caught clothing of diner repeatedly because tables too close and don't allow good circulation. Dining room both overstaffed and understaffed -- servers and busboys scurrying but no one taking in the big picture and flow, no solicitousness to guests. Neighboring table too close and diner there enormously loud continuous voice never paused for breath (and boring). My guest and I could not hear one another. Could only converse with my guest by both of us leaning far over our food until our heads were nearly touching. V. unpleasant. If Mermaid did home delivery, I would never go to this restaurant. Since they don't, I'll be back for the food (with a sigh).
Excellent seafood, alcohol and wine list and service. But don't get there for dinner before 5:00
We’re always greeted by friendly staff. The servers are great and the food is tasty! There are some good additions to the red wine list - much appreciated!
Excellent in every way
Waiters in a rush for order, otherwise great.
The food was delicious and I really appreciated that they saw my comment about having a birthday so they brought out a dessert with a candle. The prices are a little steep.
Always great food. Excellent cocktails. Attentive fantastic service. A favorite for sure.
I love this restaurant and usually go on off hours but was meeting a friend at 8p in a Friday night’. We were seated promptly, the service was attentive and the food was delicious. My friend is on a restricted diet but was able to find several choices on the menu. I had never ordered the beets before but they were outrageous and will definitely order the next time I visit
The service is friendly and approachable. The food was great. Its a bit expensive, but very worth it for a special occasion.
Food was great. Service was very good. Fun, lively atmosphere. I felt very rushed. Dinner was extremely fast.
Everything was great as usual, Mermaid Inn is one of our go-to UWS spots. This last experience was a bit frustrating though as we had to ask the waitress repeatedly for things like water. We also asked for additional crackers for our crab dip (6 was certainly not sufficient) and asked 4x before giving up on it. So, great food and overall experience as always, but hope not to have the same waitress next time.
I have dined there several times and it is always a pleasant experience. Food is good and service is very attentive. I was a bit annoyed this time as we had a 745 reservation but arrived at 803 and were told our table had been given away. They did accommodate us after a 15 minute wait but it was a bit disappointing. Food and service were fine once we got our table.
meeting old friends
It was a great night. The food was amazing and the service was top notch.
I love the ambience and food there! Definitely will go again!
Perfect all the time
Our waiter was amazing. The host at the front was very polite and very accommodating. Great experience and will love to come back again
Food is good though expensive for what it is, service is very good but booths are tight, and noise level is very high, making conversation challenging.
great food - amazing octopus special and the crab cake is done perfectly. Companions loved the sunday lobster special
a bit noisy.
Waitress was giving us strange looks
