Mini New England Clam Chowder
old bay spiced bloody mary
The experience of dining there was perfect in absolutely every way.
We made it in time to take advantage of the extensive happy hour menu and $1.25 oysters. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly from the calamari tuna tar tar to the mahi mahi. We'll definitely go back to take advantage of the happy hour menu.
Cozy on a cold rainy night. Wonderful oysters from VA. Blackened mahi, crab cake, fries and of course the demitasse of chocolate pudding made for a near perfect dining.
Great spot for some oysters and champagne! Def going to back back for happy hour-
Dinner date with Daughter.
Great happy hour menu - great atmosphere
Was very excited to try this as I love seafood. Hush puppies to start which we’re very good. All other food was pretty bad. I got the salmon which had no flavor, and looked like it was just thrown on a plate. The service was not great either. Would not recommend, and will not go back.
Food was delicious, service was great. We especially loved the happy hour options and the complimentary dessert - what a pleasant surprise! The only issue was it was very noisy on a Saturday evening!
The food was delicious, especially the calamari salad. The service amazing.
The raw seafood was delicious but the main dishes were barely edible and definitely not worth any money
I recommend for good service good clams and good drinks
Always, always, always the perfect spot. Great for a family dinner, great with friends, and great for pre-show drinks and snacks with a date. Extra "yaas" for Monday all-night Happy Hour.
Enjoyed everything. Helped make a first date perfect.
Always good choice! and also good value when you visit during the happy hour.
We sat in the 3 season porch which was cold. They had some space heaters that didn’t quite reach the middle. The scallops were great but the butternut squash drizzle was cold - I think they put it on the plate too early as a garnish. Service was amazing from the door staff all the way through. Trendy and funky I really liked it
Love the consistency of the mermaid inn. Can’t beat their happy hour deals!
Oysters were very good and fresh!
Overall I had a very nice time, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food tasted good and came out pretty quick. If there was anything I would change it would be minor things about the food I ordered. I ordered the blackened Mahi mahi as an entree and an additional side of Mac and cheese. The mahi mahi was delicious but there wasnt much to the dish. It came with a small piece of cornbread, some pico and a creme sauce. I feel like the cornbread could have been bigger or another component could have been added to the dish like another veggie or potato. If I didn’t order the side of Mac and cheese I would definitely be hungry. And the Mac and cheese could use sharper cheese it was missing some flavor.
Calamari salad is to DIE for!! Also love the shishitos, tuna crudo, and salmon tartar. So good. Fall in love with mermaid inn and oyster bar even more every time I go!
Great menu options for happy hour. Lengthy bar can fit a number of people if you don't have a reservation but definitely recommend making one as it's busy!
Elegant, cozy ambience, refined service and delicious food! Our guest visiting from Italy was impressed. Looking forward to our next meal at The Mermaid Inn!
The food is sooo good and fresh. The staff is amazing.
Never disappoints- food, service, ambience always top notch.
Great as always
Love love love going back to this place. One of the best oysters in the city, and they offer a nice price for happy hour. Beautiful ambiance and always sweet waiters. No wonder it’s full most of the time
The service at this place is outstanding. Staff is very attentive and anticipatesyoir every need. Food is equally delicious. Crub spinach dip melts in your mouth and you can't go wrong with oysters on happy hour menu.
Everyone's talking about the happy hour deals, and with good reason! The oysters were a great deal and delicious, the happy hour apps were also great! ...BUT... The entrees while pricier were also delicious and worth it!
Our server and busser Frank was awesome! Great recommendations on food and drinks! Would definitely go again
Food was amazing! We ordered the special fish over the parmesan risotto and the tuna tostada. Will definitely be back soon!
There is never a bad time at Mermaid! The food was more delicious than our previous visit and our server was exceptional. Simply the best.
Food is always top notch. Love it.
Great menu selections; salmon was prepared individually as we requested. Delicious, nice presentation, complimentary dessert. Waiter was excellent; attentive, responsive, professional; a welcome change to the usual. Quiet room where you could speak normally and be heard, and a nice Motown sound for background music. Loved it all.
Outstanding restaurant, never disappoints us, have lived and dined in Manhattan over 50 years, this place is one of our go-to places
Love this place. Great lobster rolls! Great drinks!
This was my first time dining here, referred by a friend. It was down pouring that night and our table was out on the covered patio, very close to other tables, but our experience was still great. It was darkly lit with candles, giving romantic vibes. The food was delish - everything we ordered from apps to main course to dessert. I’d recommend to anyone!
great selection of oysters.crabcake mostly crab very little filing, scallops cooked perfectly
Loved it here! Great food, service, and ambiance. Highly recommend.
Our pre-holiday dinner was quite relaxing and enjoyable. The facade of the restaurant was deceiving; it looks like a small dark storefront, but inside it goes back a ways to a much larger restaurant, with a garden in back in summer. The interior is very glowing, cozy and festive feeling, the staff casual, warm and friendly. The seafood was uniformly fresh and delicious throughout. We were delighted with our special of the day oysters which were cold, plump, sweet and briny, and at happy hour, only $1.25 each! Calamari salad was a bit salty due to overabundance of feta and lobster knuckles escargot style ate a bit dry, wish there had been a little more butter and perhaps more salt on that one. The mahi mahi and scallop entrees were perfectly cooked and garnished. Small complimetary cracker basket and tiny chocolate pudding dessert also made things special. Noise level was energetic but low enough for adult conversation. All in all, a lovely place to spend a nice evening. I d like to come back in summer and check out that garden!
I have been hearing about this place for years, but only just got a chance to dine here. I have to say I had one of the better dinners I've had in the city here with my girlfriend.
We splurged, on clams, old bay fries, mussels, and linguini and clams. Everything was delicious, it was just a perfect meal from beginning to end. We plan to come back.
Did I mention the cocktails? excellent as well, my first iced cold toddy, will not be my last.
The front is a little tight near the bar, but you won't even notice once the food hits. Its my kind of spot, nothing too fancy, but still cozy with nice atmosphere. Great for dates.
Really cute place with great seafood. We also love the happy hour specials available before we sat down for dinner! The tequila grapefruit cocktail was amazing! The restaurant was also very accommodating with substitutions and modifications on the menu.
