GREAT Food, Outstanding Ambiance and Wonderful service all in one place.
Really enjoyed the Mercury tonight. Valet parking attendant was very welcoming which made for a nice start. We had the caviar egg...kind of a unique appetizer and not for everyone but we enjoyed it. The salads were superb...I had the tomato mozzarella salad and my wife had the wedge. The black cod melted in my mouth. My wife had the halibut which she enjoyed although thought the sauce was slightly salty. We had key lime pie and coconut cream tart for dessert. Both were great and presented well. Service was strong throughout.
The food was good but not worth the price. The hostess was not very friendly which kind of killed the atmosphere. We were seated right by the entrance to the kitchen again (last time i used open table we were seated there). That will be our last trip to the Mercury.
Our lovely red headed hostess was one of the most thoughtful we have ever encountered.
She, our server and meal were all exceptional. We were delighted with the surprise Happy Anniversary dessert. I had mentioned to the hostess it was our Wedding Anniversary and she
must have made it happen. My husband offered me several restaurants to choose from and
so happy we chose The Mercury.
Once again I chose The Mercury when my daughter ask where I would like to celebrate a belated Father's Day since she was out of town on the real day. I was not disappointed! We were promptly seated at our favorite table and in short order we had received our drinks and they were well crafted. Our salads were very good and our entres were spot on and well timed too. Overall a very nice experience.
I made a reservation on open table, there were many tables empty in main room) yet we were seated in the huge back room with only 3 tables occupied and not as nice as the main room. I ordered salmon and asked for it to be prepared cooked through. The fish was served totally raw in the center, I asked for it to be cooked longer and after a while another new piece was served and I was asked to cut it to see if it was cooked enough. Again the fish was raw and it was taken away. After a while a third piece was brought out which was also raw in the center. By that time the other diners at my table had finished their meal. I was told the chef could not prepare it the way I wanted So I ordered an appetizer instead. I ended up eating alone since everyone else was finished, and left hungry. I will not go back to this restaurant or recommend it. Did not like the room we were seated in or the food preparation. I have had other restaurants give me less desired table seating when making my reservation on open table.
Normally I am very pleased with my selection but the Oriental Chicken Salad was not the best. The chicken was dry and hard and the salad was light on the dressing. Lettuce piece were very large and hard to eat without cutting. I should have gone with the Tuna Salad. My client ordered and said it was good. Better luck next time.
We were in sushi room. The noise from one table was disturbingly loud and rude. The man next to their table had his fingers in his ears. We had to move they were so loud. I know they saw everyone looking at them. But I had to say something to waiter before he said anything to the party. I know that is a tricky thing to handle and I did appreciate him finally speaking to them. The food was really good and the service was great also! Plus the surprise dessert for my birthday was delicious.
For the first time, this restaurant disappointed us. It's a lovely and comfortable place, with professional servers. We were there for lunch. I had The Mercury Salad and was dismayed to find it served with a large chunk of iceberg lettuce - to my mind, the cheapest and most tasteless choice. It had a good amount of protein but I only noticed 3 tiny bits of the bacon and only 1 cube of avocado. He had the fish sandwich which was okay, but nothing special. Not a good lunch destination. I hope the dinners are still good.
