Lunch was great. Good food and great customer service.
Took my wife of 26 years to The Mercury on our anniversary and we were joined by our daughter and her fiancé. We generally choose The Mercury for special occasions as well as everyday dining. We love the food, service and ambiance provided here! Tonight lived up to our expectations in every way. Service by Tony was timely and on point. The food was cooked as requested, and the setting was spectacular to boot.
We had been to Mercury several times before so we knew what to expect, but wow .... what an evening. This was one of the best dinners we have ever had in Dallas. Granted, we ordered some pretty fattening and delicious things, but even with this advantage, the Mercury still far exceeded our expectations.
The veal milanaise was outrageously good. Basically the Best wiener schnitzel I have ever had. My wife had the lamb shank, which was probably also the best we have ever had. The pasta appetizer (a carbonara type preparation with ham) and mushroom gnocchi side were fantastic. Service was perfect. Desert was good, not great.
Mercury is always a special place to dine - love how dark it is and the food is always delicious.
Always consistent. Great menu and service. Never disappointed!
Excellent as always.... we had a server who was being shadowed by a new server and he was professional and kind to the new employee and we delighted in being in the section where training was going on... The tomato/artichoke bisque was so comforting, and of course the Mercury Salad was so yummy.
I like this place for a business lunch. Good food, always consistent. Noise level is such that you can have a conversation.
Food excellent. Not too loud. Lovely.
As always they make you fill important and if there is mistake they rush to take care of it. By far one of the better and most consistent restaurants in DALLAS and the best in the north Dallas area
Fantastic lunch experience...as always! Food was great and the service outstanding. The waiter was great accommodating our special food requests.
Food was excellent. Service was outstanding. We had a great time. Thank you!
Great birthday celebration with delicious food and great wine. Very accommodating service!
Awesome as aleays
This was our first visit to Mercury on recommendation of my sister. It was a really nice dining experience. We went to celebrate my sister's and my birthday. I had heard it is better to sit in the main dining room because we sat in the Manhattan room and it was very loud. The food was absolutely delicious! We had the tagliolini pasta appetizer and lamb shank and mushroom risotto entrees. We also had their wine that they were advertising on special for $89 and it was a lovely Cornerstone cabernet. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone for a nice romantic dinner or to celebrate a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary. My brother-in-law said that they also have a sushi bar in the back that is very fun and has great atmosphere.
I took my wife to the Mercury for her birthday and we were joined by our daughter and her fiancé on a recent Saturday night. We were properly seated and our requested table. After a short wait we were served bread with their excellent pate and some water and then our server came by and took our drink order. The drinks were well-crafted, and once we had settled in we ordered our food which consisted of several appetizers, a shared wedge salad, and a combination of excellent Cod fish for my wife and steaks for the rest of us. Everything was prepared to our liking and we left feeling fully satisfied with our excellent evening. We will be back soon.
I think we surprised them. This was an impulse visit on a Friday night. Because of a change in plans my wife and I were wondering what to do for dinner and she suggested that I look The Mercury on Open Table. It was 6:45 and they showed availability so I clicked the "Reserve" button and off we went. When we arrived I believe it was the manager and possibly even owner who was at the desk. He acted surprised that we had a reservation but he recovered quickly. We were seated in just a moment and we started a great evening. They make a good martini and most people don't. We want our 'tinis very, very cold. Deliver me from a luke cold 'tini. We shared the wedge salad. It was good but I believe that was a touch of pork belly in it. What ever it was it did not work but was easy to discard. My wife and I both had the filets and they were outstanding. We shared they variant of twice baked potatoes that they do and here my wife and I varied. She disliked them and referred to them as baby food because she found them too thin. I rather liked them. A bit more texture and a bit fewer chives would have been nice but I would go back to them easily. Our server was very nice and attentive. It is a wonderful neighborhood spot and we enjoy it for that. The highlight was easily the filet. We both added the bearnaise which was very nice. Their filet will stand with anyone's and I do mean anyone's. It is a bit large for us at 9 ounces. Their steak portions are all large. Our 68 year old appetites are more like 6 ounces. This was a great evening out and we enjoyed it very much.
A last minute change of plans paid off with a great dinner. They accommodated our requests and prepared an exception meal.
We just regret not asking the price of the evening's special ($20 above all other entrees).
The Mercury is always our favorite spot for special occasions.
It was just ok. Food was not great. Service was very slow and not attentive. Expensive for what we ate.
A very nice bar, comfy couches and a mean martini. Enjoyed the meal, we had the fillet and the lamb shanks, both very good. Order got a bit mixed, but overall service was good.
The chicken for all of us was under cooked. And the ceaser salad was soggy.
Service and food were outstanding!!! Thank you so much!!!
So incredibly disappointed! In all our years of dining, we’ve NEVER walked out of a restaurant, until then!
We had chosen Mercury from previous good food experiences. We had chosen it for our 10yr wedding anniversary because we wanted to stay close to home, not go all out since we have travel plans a few weeks later and it was a Thurs. Our expectations weren’t ridiculously high, we simply wanted good food and a nice ambiance. Our goal was to relax, enjoy good food, start with a cocktail and go all out on a special bottle to celebrate.
After we were seated, we were ignored and all the attention was given to the regulars around us. We ordered cocktails and they NEVER arrived. Meanwhile, the older couple regulars on both sides of us received their drinks and given lots of attention. They kept pulling rank, saying we’re so and so, so and so knows us well. Our waiter was mailing it in and could care less who we were since we don’t go there regularly. We felt incredibly out of place and seated poorly. (I say this because I did mention on our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary.) It was loud, I couldn’t even understand the waiter and had to ask HIM what the specials were for the day? He didn’t smile or even offer up any excitement for having us there. Again, we weren’t expecting service like we get at Chamberlains/The French Room/Lawry’s/Abacus etc.. but maybe a little special attention or at least a, happy anniversary and thanks for sharing it here with us, would’ve been nice. Regardless, we decided to order our drinks again try to tough it out, thinking maybe it was us, get ourselves etc. But the sad look on my wife’s face killed me!
We ended up at Lawrys on our way home. No reservations, they accommodated us. They made my beautiful wife feel special. We ordered Sea Bass/Prime Rib and a 2007 Far Niente Cab.
Mercury, sorry you didn’t think we belonged there.
Food was great but service was slow and waiter was overwhelmed. Overall, restaurant seemed unprepared for Valentine’s Day even though they had taken reservations. Management attempted to make right, which is appreciated, but doesn’t take away from the experience. Disappointed as this was one of my favorites.
Great Valentine's Day dinner. Good wine list. Liked the fact that
you could order off the menu instead of fixed price for Valentine's.
Best martinis also
Fun valentine's dinner. The food was really good and it had a fun vibe. It was really busy for Valentine's Day so the service was a little spotty, but other than that, it was a fun night.
We waited 55 minutes for the food, food wasn’t cooked enough.
Was very busy. Servers were running around . Giving uncomfortable feeling
Valentines Day dinner with my wife was excellent! We were seated promptly at our preferred table and our server Jesse took our drink order after we had a few minutes to get settled in. While waiting for our drinks we were served their outstanding bread, butter and pate. The drinks came quickly and Jesse handed us menus and told us about their specials for the evening. We ended up selecting our usual shared Wedge salad, Halibut for my wife and Filet for myself. All were prepared perfectly. We enjoyed all aspects of this experience.
Noise. 90 minutes for main course. Missing one side. Entries warm to room temp. Plates passed by guests due to tables jammed. Not cool for a $600+ meal for six. Not going back.
First time to visit The Mercury. The food was very good. I had the Tuna Mignon, very interesting way to serve Tuna but I liked it. My wife had the pan roasted halibut. Again we were both very satisfied with our meals. Our waitress was very attentive and did a good job. I would recommend The Mercury
Always an amazing experience. Great ambiance. Great food. We had sushi tonight and all dishes were a real treat. Will always return.
Excellent meal, very good service. A nice wine list and good food choices.
Absolutely perfect! Food was exceptional and so was the service! Will definitely return.
Food was good. Service was lacking but they were very busy.
Excellent service. Great waiters and staff. Chef always adding new touches to the menu.
We have frequented Mercury for years and have yet to be disappointed. Their fish is amazing, especially the cod. I had the "Pan Roasted Halibut" which again was fresh and tasty. HOWEVER, the accompanying "artichoke cocktail, roasted vegetables and truffle sauce" was meager, soft and overcooked and somewhat bland. The truffle sauce came late and on the side, which may have impacted my impressions somewhat. I think at this price point, the accompanying food should not be an afterthought as it was on this dish.
Food is always great. Service I?s better than most upscale restaurants in town. Valet is easy access in and out.
Restaurant a little dark for lunch time dining.
Great burgers and onion rings.
My wife and I have been going to Mercury for as long as it has been open. It is one of those restaurants that I have never had a bad meal at - quite the contrary, the food is always great as is the service. Just consistently good!
Great food, probably the best foie gras in Dallas. The only issue was we had to keep asking for tea and water refills. It got pretty annoying since we were dining early and they only had about 6 other tables occupied in the upper part. With that said you can't go wrong dining at The Mercury!!
