Melting pot is one of my favorite places. Evan is the best bartender. He really makes you feel special.

I went to the melting pot in Troy to try and relive the night I proposed to my wife, however the restaurant was nothing like the one I have been which was in Ann Arbor. We had to pay 100.00 dollars to get ther romance package to get what they call the best table " most romantic" it was nothing more than a booth for two in the corner of the place with a slightly higher than normal divider... the place was very loud and I could hear conversations from the tables in that section. The one in Ann Arbor you felt like you were in a private place all to yourselves. In all it cost me 240.00 dollars for an ok meal and horrible atmosphere !!!
Would not recommend going here for any kind of special occasion .

They had absolutely awful service. We had to wait 30 minutes after our reservation, and the waitress was not attentive at all.

First time visiting, me and my wife were impressed with the overall concept. Our personal favorites: the cheese fondue and the dessert (OMG!). The only thing I regret is not visiting this restaurant before.

We have visited many Melting Pots over the years and various locations. Food was exceptional as always, however our experience was not. We arrived for a late lunch early dinner at our reservation time at 2:30pm and did not leave until 6:10pm. The length of our meal was ridiculously long. We had at least a 20 to 30 minute wait between courses. And on several occasions we had to get up to find someone to get our server. The reasons we needed the server was for additional dipping items for cheese, chocolate and our bill. We have never sat at a MP for almost 4 hours for a meal. When we come we always get the 4 course meal and know it is at least a 2 to 2.5 hour experience. The restaurant did not seemed overly busy as we were the ONLY party in the side room. We can say our server was very nice and pleasant but the speed of the service was below satisfactory.

Upon arrival parking lot was under construction which had very limited parking spaces. Had to wait 15 minutes for one to open up. The restaurant should do something to draw you in based on the parking inconvienience.

Atmosphere was good with low noise level which allowed for easy communication. However, Service was extremely slow. Took 2 1/2 hours to get through dinner then had to chase down waiter to bring the bill.

It was a birthday dinner and waiter said he would bring a desert out for the birthday guest. That never arrived at the table.

Would likely not go back.

Overpriced, difficult to park, uncomfortable booth. If you go, just get the cheese and chocolate—skip the entree. Beef was tough, lobster not very good. It was a pain having to cook and time the entree. Also, messy! Cheese and chocolate courses were good, though.

The service was extremely slow, there were large breaks in between courses. Barely seen our waiter unless he was being the last course. We sat down at 6:45 and didn't leave until 9pm.

A place we chose for our 5 year wedding anniversary was not an exciting experience like I anticipated.

I’ve been to the melting pot in 3 states and have nothing but good things to say about the food and service. However, the last time we went for sweetest day over the weekend the service was not up to normal melting pot standards. I’d still recommend the place to anyone I know because I’ve never had an experience like this with the restaurants but felt very neglected this time.

Not a place if you want a good entree. Cheese and chocolate fondue was good but when you have to boil your chicken, pork or steak that is a real turn off. Prices are astronomical for what you get. If my bill was half of what it actually was it would still be overpriced. I can say that I will never be back.

Wouldn't have minded it being overpriced if

- the waitress hadn't phoned it in. took 15 minutes every time to check on us, never asked if we wanted more drinks even though they were clearly empty, rushed through the meal explanations, and had a poor attitude
- it hadn't taken 2 hours to get 3/4 of the way through the meal, forcing us to skip the fondue, which was the main reason for going
- we hadn't been seated next to a noisy couple when the restaurant was empty and other tables were available, wanting a romantic evening for a special anniversary occasion

$135, 2 hours, and a really poor experience later, we went home

Been here 3 times in last few months. First two times were great. This time we brought my mom as a special surprise. Service was awful. Her water never got refilled. We only got refills on our soda at very end of meal. We ordered our chocolate right away when we were done with our entrees. Waited 25 minutes then waiter came out finally and said are you done cooking so I can put the chocolate in. We were done when we ordered our chocolate 25 minutes ago. Table behind us came in over a half hour after us and left at the same time and only because we rushed the chocolate because my child was getting tired. I know it takes time to eat here but over 2 hours is unacceptable when we order immediately at sitting down and tables around us are getting served faster. We had no special requests for food or ordered anything not on the menu. Chocolate was not great but probably because we rush through without waiting long enough for it to melt because at this point we wanted to leave. If I hadn't been here several times before with great food and service I probably wouldn't come back. I will return hoping for a better experience next time. Other than our waiter food was good, sat on time with our reservation, value good ( it is a little pricy so I expect to be treated as a customer and not an inconvenience).

Great experience. Due to the constructions close by the restaurant, there is a lot of dust and hard to find a parking place close by.
My only disappointment was the size of each portion of food. Definitely they need to improve because for a couple, the size is too small and you have to pay each time that you want a refil.

Ive only been here twice, both for special occasions. 3 years ago our experience was one to remember, ambience, our waitress, the manager, our meal everything. This experience was different. It wouldn’t stop me from trying it again, but I dont know how common this issue is. Our meat meal was cooked in a wine base and a oil base. And for some reason, the smoke was too intense. I had to step out 3 times just to get my eyes to stop watering! I had 5 other people at my table who all had burning eyes. Only one other was watering like me though. A manager seemed semi concerned and came over twice. Turned down the heat, and asked once more if we were ok.
Our waiter didn’t seem to notice the tears and makeup all over our faces lol.
It was all their first time dining, and I had wished it was a better experience for them.
Sadly I didn’t like the tastes of either broths. But the chocolate made up for it!!
So overall this experience wasn’t the best and I wasn’t able to enjoy my $45 meal, but I would try it again. The server was nice and funny and the overall food was good.

The only thing negative I can say about them is they don't come through on promising something special on anniversaries for joining...which I did, Our visit Sunday was for our anniversary and they gave us nothing. They asked if we were celebrating anything and we told them it was our 34th anniversary...but still nothing. They did congratulate us.

Had a reservation for 730. Didn't get seated in an empty restaurant for 20 min. And onece at table with one burner for 4 people. Was told it was our fault we should have called ahead. But we made reservations on line and it wasn't an option. The drinks arrived at the same time we were served our cheese meal. The waitress never came around again till after the apps were done. So we could t get a second drink till the entree arrived after the salads were eaten. The one burner worked occasionally, but didn't get hot enough to heat the food to temp, so we all used the oil, which only two of us wanted to use. No offer of coffee, felt rushed out as bills were handed at the beginning of dessert. The bills were wrong and not divided as we asked. The other couple ended up seating themselves at another table alone so they could get their chocolate hot enough to eat and enjoy. So we cleared our own dishes from the original table, so we didn't have to be surrounded by
dirty glasses and plates, to the dirty table beside us. Again. Restaurant was almost empty. We could hear staff laughing and talking but nobody around to help us. I paid 140 dollars US. I have a pregnant wife and a two year old. We paid a babysitter 100 dollars to watch her so we could have one last date night while my wife was semi comfortable. It was unquestionably the worst feeataurant experience I can remember. I was given two 25 dollar gift certificates which I gave away, cause we don't want to waste an entire rare evening on a place that just doesn't care about customer service. The managaer said the burner worked, and walked away. It shut itself off as it did for us too. He was wrong. Didn't offer to take a drink off my bill even cause the girl came to get our money so er before the meal wS even done. I had already paid. And paid for extra drinks the the other couple had. I wonder if anyone from the company even reads these emails.

This was kind of a sad experience. The restaurant was in the middle of a construction site and clearly needed a renovation of its own. Even though we had a reservation and there was ample room in the main dining room, we were seated in the bar area and had to be moved twice because the booths were all broken. The hostess said all the tables were "busted" and any of the booths we would get were in disrepair so it wasn't worth trying to find a non-broken one. Everything was fine then on until the busboy took away half of our entree in the middle of eating before we even had a chance to eat it. We had to ask him to leave our food and were not sure why everything was being removed while we were clearly still eating. The waitress said he was brand new and had been making a lot of mistakes. Understand he's not an all star but that's not really my problem. For a meal that ended up being $60 a person, it was not up to par. Would avoid going back to this location. The staff seem sad and clearly dislike their job.
