It was my very first time at the Melting Pot. I went with my wife, from start to finish it was the best time. I never enjoyed dinner any where else.
I didn’t care for the food or the service. It was my family’s first time there and we didn’t understand the menu and we had to ask the waitress 3 times to explain it and then she still didn’t explain it correct for us to understand, it was like we were a bother for her to deal with. I won’t recommend. Disappointed because I’m a single mom who works 52 hours a week, this was my only day off in 2 weeks, I took my kids out to spend time and then we get horrible service.
We were extremely pleased with the experience we had here! The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was great! While the service was good our server could have been a bit more attentive. You should be forwarned that the full 4-course experience will take 2 hours so I would not recommend trying to catch something afterward.
Had a fantastic dinner at Melting Pot. The service was excellent, the food was fantastic, the entire evening was very wonderful!!!I highly recommend eating at the Melting Pot!!!
Had a blast and it was definitely a neat experience. Cooking broth was excellent and the service was great. Food was solid quality as well. My only gripe would be the dipping sauces...out of the 5 brought over I didn't care for 2 (curry and bleu cheese). The other 3 were okay but would have expected more uniqueness than sweet n' sour and teriyaki sauce. Nevertheless, I'd definitely revisit.
It was very nice place nice staff and good food. I’ve been here quite a few times and have always had a great time enjoying the food and the ambiance of the restaurant.
We had a great experience. Our server, Nicholas, explained everything thoroughly, was very helpful in making recommendations, polite, and prompt with all our courses and checking in to make sure we had everything. All the staff including the manager, Sam, were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend it.
It’s was alright. I said I have a nut allergy and they brought me pecans on my salad. I told them prior. And the music in the restaurant was very depressing. Overall 7/10
Way overpriced for the quality of the food - could have eaten real cuisine at the best sushi bar for the same money. This is average food with a gimmick. And what kind of restaurant runs out of coffee? Our server was very friendly, eager, a little nervous and very well-meaning ... can’t even fault him for forgetting our salads - mgr packed them to go and didn’t charge us.
We were barely waited on and it was not busy at all. When we requested a table with 2 burners we were told we couldn't as they were all taken, but there was only 4 people total in there eating the entire time we were.
We even had to remind our waitress of items that we ordered as they were not brought out.
We were disappointed this trip and have been in contact with the restaurant via their website.
My husband and I came out for date night and enjoyed a cocktail at the bar while waiting to be seated. We were then seated in a cozy corner spot on the bottom floor. The ambiance was great! I also liked the table we were seated at. Everything was great—I just don’t think it’s worth the price. Boiled meat? Ugh. We definitely enjoyed the overall experience. However, I can’t see myself ever going back. The food did not blow my mind and I feel like it should have for the price tag... $255 for two people.
The Melting Pot Tacoma rarely disappoints. The food is consistent and fresh, the servers are attentive (this last visit we had Adrian, and he was awesome), and the experience is fun. Always a fun date night.
What's about the fourth time I've been to The Melting Pot. Always good food
Everyone was great. The people that treated us at the door to Manager on duty, Sam and his crew. Our waiter was Adrian and he was outstanding.
Anniversary dinner tonight. Everything was amazing from cheese to salad (strawberry almond) to the main course omg that butter sauce with the lobster is to die for. Top it all off with chocolate (milk and baileys) amazing we love coming here and will again!
I had been looking forward to going for many years. It was an expensive okay experience. Service was okay. They ran out of coffee....but offered us espresso for $$. Who doesn't drink coffee with their chocolate. $480 tab and everything took so much time I was just over it by the time we left.
The Restaurant was very nice, the food was great. We did the full experience which surprised me to be a 3 hour event, which gave us time to enjoy the great atmosphere with our friends.
The food was amazing!! My husband and I were there for my birthday celebration. The waiter probably was pretty new which was fine, everyone has to start somewhere, but he lost our ticket originally but he owned up to it. We also had to get a replacement pot of entree broth because our food was taking so long to come out so it overcooked. Also, my husband ordered a Bud Light for his 2nd drink, which never showed up (also never charged so that was good). Other than that, it was awesome. The food was delicious as usual and although the service wasn't the greatest this time, it won't deter us from going back again!
Service was slow from the waiter but overall good experience
Great food, great atmosphere. We've enjoyed Melting Pot locations across the US, and this one does not disappoint. Exceptional service. We will be back.
I was alittle upset that we were stuck in traffic, called and told them that I was running 5-10 mins late. We got there 7 minutes late and they made us wait 25 because they gave away our table. Got back to our table finally and there was open tables everywhere.
The location of the restaurant is horrible. Our car was broken into and all our stuff was stolen.
Took my daughter for birthday dinner with one of her friends. It was quiet, which was nice. Clean, another bonus! The service was amazing! She explained the menu since we hadn't been there for the 4-course meal. Portions were good but I'm not sure it was worth $50 per person. The entree portion of the meal wasn't very good. You are basically eating boiled meat, just weird to me. My daughter and her friend enjoyed themselves but not sure if I will be going back anytime soon! Very pricey!!!!
Took my sweetie for her birthday dinner because she likes the surf and turf and s’mores dessert which are also my favorites too!
Great as always! No complaints............................ Don’t know what else to type, so I am just filling the rest in with pointless verbiage
Really fun experience, had a great time with friends and service was wonderful!
My husband and I enjoyed the experience for the 1st time!
Our sever could have been more attentive and messed our separate checks up badly after offering them. Still we're not correct the second time so we figured it out with our friends.
We were not happy about the extras on the bill and 4.50 for kids drink we think is a bit excessive.
We ordered 2 different pick 4 and got charged extra for the broth we picked? If it is extra I feel the waitress should have told us it would be extra for the flavor we picked.
Always enjoy the darker, quiet atmosphere. Great for long conversation, as this is a dining experience. Not a quick bite. Cheese was great, entree was great, the chocolate was minutely disappointing just because the alcohol didn’t cook out and was a bit strong to the taste. Loved my peach sangria. Really nice server. Good at conversation, left our entree a little long, but that may be because I’m not used to pausing for meals like a European. 😉
Server kept forgetting to turn the burner on or didn’t know how to operate it, which is essential at a fondue restaurant. It was quite frustrating, either it was blatant incompetence or bad training, either way it’s frustrating when it’s $50+ a person.
Our server was amazing but the hostess were horrible. They had two ladies at the front. I arrived 15 minutes early and the place was dead. My fiancé was going to be at the restaurant in 5 minutes but the hostess said she couldn’t seat us until he arrived or until it was closer to our reservation. He arrived and we informed the hostess our party was here and she said she would seat us soon. Another family of five came in after she had told us this and without reservation mind you! she sat them first. The restaurant is a chain and while I paid $180 for three person meal, I feel like the restaurant staff ego’s has gotten a little too big for their britches. The hostess intonation and whole demeanor was disrespectful. Thank goodness for our waitress. It was not worth the money or the fake environment.
Food was fantastic, service was excellent, and we left very satisfied.
I had not eaten at a Melting Pot in several years and was looking forward to it. The experience did not disappoint. The staff were friendly conversational and helpful. The food was just as good as I remember it. I will always recommend The Melting Pot to anyone who has never tried fondue before. 11/10 Will definitely return.
My out of town family and I dined together on February 23rd at the Melting Pot in Tacoma, Washington for a 4:45pm reservation. After enjoying meals at this Melting Pot location for over 10 years during our time living in the area, we looked forward to another wonderful meal.
Unfortunately, that's not what we experienced on this evening. Shortly after being seated on the second floor, we were greeted by our server Adrian who was lackluster in attitude and did not engage us in the menu or the kind of experience we were looking for. The Melting Pot is an extremely interactive restaurant and requires a certain level of bonding with the server in order to engage in the meal. Unfortunately, Adrian seemed preoccupied with something else rather than our table. Ten minutes after we were seated, another couple was seated across from us. We were disappointed to see that Adrian was not only their server as well but he spoke with an energy and life, showing favor towards their table throughout the night and being prompt in meeting their needs. We found this to be odd.
We ordered the Fiesta Cheese pot and were extremely disappointed that on a Friday night, the restaurant was supposedly out of the chips that accompany this dish. In addition, once the cheese was mixed at our table, it was far too cold and thick to enjoy. We manually turned our burner up to essentially “re-cook” it and continued to mix it, unfortunately there was simply not enough liquid for it to be creamy and enjoyable.
Our second pot, the Wisconsin Trio was satisfactory but a bit strong on the Blue Cheese and tainted the experience for the three of us sharing the pot. We continuously requested refills of dippers from bussers walking by as our server was not present in actually “SERVING” our table. We ordered The Original chocolate dessert pot and again disappointed in the temperature of the chocolate.
We were disappointed not only by the service, but also by the food which we had previously grown to love
We were having a family date night before my husbands relocation to Korea for work. We all did a 4 course experience. Our server was great at explaining how the menu worked, and gave us time to look at it. We dined at 7:45pm, which I would recommend much earlier timing! We were there ‘til nearly 10:00pm. Each course seemed to take longer than expected to serve. With this being a first time experience for us, I was surprised to find our food comes raw and is also cooked one by one in a pot. We are a family of 4 and seated with one burner. I did not want to use the same pot as family who ordered sea food, but I also didn’t want to prolong our dining any further, so frustrated, I just poured my whole plate into the pot to cook so they could eat as well. This was a bad idea, as it took a lot of time for mine to cook. There didn’t seem to be much of a kids menu, and my kids did not care for the main meal. Finally, desert came, and it was a blast! There were many sweet treats to choose from, and we enjoyed it. Overall, the fondue experience of both cheese and chocolate are wonderful and we expect to visit again for those, but we will likely skip on meal unless we request a 2 burner table. Quick note, the Strawberry Almond Salad was absolutely amazing, and that says a lot for me. Everyone finished their salad, which was more than a medium portion. Last few notes: midway, we asked for the drink menu from a man whom we believed to be the manager on floor, he said he would grab it but never returned. He passed us a few more times, but nothing. This was not a big deal to us. Additionally, I just reitterate that it may be common to space out the meals, however family was hungry and waiting seemed a little excessive, the resturaunt was not busy. The decor was peaceful, and bathrooms were maintained. Promise... I’m done now. Lol
We have been coming to the Melting pot for 2 years now and every experience has been great except for this one, it was horrible. The server took 15 minutes to bring our drinks out. And that was only the begining. He would come out multiple times to tend to other tables but wouldn’t bring out what we asked for whether it be extra sauce, or a refill. A family next to us showed up about 15 minutes after us and they were tended to faster than us. We also waited a long time for our dinner to be brought out while the waiter was tending to other tables instead of us. We finished our dinner well before that family and waited 30 minutes not only for our table to be cleared but for our fondue to be brought out. The family next to us was served dessert at the same time as us but we were done well before then. Not one server apologized for our wait or anything. On top of that they always overcharge me for my dinner. I order the vegetarian option and they always charge me $48.. the same price as the steak dinner, every single time I have dined here! I can’t help but think we were treated this way because we are a gay couple.
Overall good experience. I will say the hostess “greeter” had a very negative vibe. Not sure why when we walked in to give our name for reservation she seemed very bothered. I would imagine the hostess “greeter” should be a positive first impression but that was not the case. We quickly moved past it as our server was great!
Loved the food! Great atmosphere and presentation! Our server could of been better, she offered lots of good ideas for what we could try out! Unfortunately she kept forgetting to bring things out that she recommended and even forgot to give me a main course dish so I can enjoy my food when it was done cooking! Other then that? I’d said it was still worth the money for the experience!
