About

Situated in the hub of Downtown Tacoma, the Pacific Ave. location provides a casually elegant, intimate atmosphere. The relaxing 4 course experience begins with cheese fondue prepared tableside. Fresh salad follows while your entrée pot heats up. You’ll simmer a variety of tantalizing meats, seafood, & vegetables. Each morsel is hot, fresh, & flavorful. Entrees are accompanied by an array of dipping sauces to add to the fun. Your choice of chocolate fondue is the grand finale, served with a variety of delicious dippers. I very much appreciate that I can arrange rose petals on the table and chocolate dipped strawberries for my husband. He lights up like a Christmas tree and blushingly grins ear to ear every time. We had a new server and she was adorable and friendly and the evening was absolutely perfect. This whole experience is the reason I take my husband here for special occasions, it makes him feel worth it.

$260 for 4 people is outrageous. We ordered basic with waters. The chicken is not a great option for boiling in a broth. Just didn't think the food to cost equaled value to me. Wait staff was great.

The food and service were both excellent. It's a long drive for us so we don't go as often as we would otherwise but it is worth it. My only issue is that my eyes are bad and it is very hard for me to see because it is too dark. I had to ask a waiter which restroom was the mens because I couldn't see the sings in the dark. Maybe they could light up the restroom area outside a little.

This was the perfect setting for our girls lunch! So awesome that the Melting Pot does lunch now! The setting was great, very quiet and our server, Gus, was fantastic! Very attentive. Can’t wait to go back!!

The server was really nice, but was taking care of waaayyy too many other tables. The food was good, not worth the $150 bill though. I’ve had better food and better service elsewhere.. Tacoma has so many good restaurants, go spend your hard earned money somewhere else.

Had a lovely experience there. Food was amazing (some things very creative and not 100% sure what it was). Cocktails where great. A very intimate dinner. We were sat in a secluded corner, noise was low and the jazz music was nice. It's a long dinner for sure. The menu is set up to make the 4 course meal your best option for the price. Dinner took a little over 2 hours. Portion size is perfect. Service was great, staff very helpful with explaining what items where. This place is pricey, but you get what you pay for. It's more than just a meal, it is a dining experience.

Melting pot is great for Happy Hour but not reasonable for family dining. It is an experience to come so plan to devote a minimum of 2 hours to being at dinner.

We had an unpleasant experience with both the Manager and General Manager although our server was friendly, helpful, and wonderful. We made reservations based on an email about the $4.11 Fondue and Specialty Cocktail menus available April 11 & 12.

The seasonal menus given to us on April 11 had 2 specialty cocktails we were very interested in, the Modern Old Fashioned and the Classic Old Fashioned. We ordered these and, 5-10 minutes later, the Manager came to our table to let us know these cocktails were not available until the next day. He did not offer a reason or substitution and became slightly defensive when we asked why the menus were put on our table with no availability dates. He asked what else we would like but did not have a beverage menu and sent the server back with it. Our replacement wine arrived when our meal was almost finished.

The General Manager interrupted our meal again and asked vague questions about how we were doing, not bringing up the cocktail situation. He seemed reluctant to leave until we asked why the cocktail menu was not available. He said he would speak to the bar 3 times and 3 times we insisted we did not want the drinks now as we could not drive home after that much alcohol. He replied that he would talk to the bar because someone else might order off that menu. 5 minutes later, our server showed up with 2 Old Fashioneds. We are not sure why they could not have made them 30 minutes ago. We sent them back and tried to carry on with our daughter's birthday celebration without any other unnecessary interruptions. We will not be returning to the Melting Pot in Tacoma anytime soon.

The Melting Pot is always fun! This time we went the staff seemed ... tired, maybe. Timing was off and that made for a few awkward pauses. Example, the flight of wine delivery was delayed so that I’d be almost done with a course when the matching wine shows up. Add in a loud toddler and my husband was on edge by the end of our night out.

My friend and I celebrated Easter at The Melting Pot which also included a visit from the Easter Bunny! We enjoyed the Easter Special and were very impressed with our meal. We chose the Classic cheese fondue which was a perfect balance of cheese, wine and garlic...absolutely delicious! The California salad was excellent, as was the main course. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate turtle with pecans fondue. Wow! It was delicious! Our dining experience was great and well worth a return trip to The Melting Pot in the very near future!
PS Our waiter was excellent...very friendly and helpful.

I have never before been to the melting pot, I have heard great things and for my 5 year anniversary with my girlfriend, I decided it would be a suitable place to celebrate. Upon entering there was no one to greet us we had to wait a few moments for someone to come get us. which a homeless guy walks right in and lights his cigarette up in the fire located next to the entrance, while my server told him to leave, It felt as though this was common? Regardless we make our way to our table, I'm thinking the atmosphere is sufficient and quiet very accommodating. Upon being seated we have a small stove hot plate located at the center of our table I later found out this is where the fondue and food is cooked and warmed (very interesting invention) Furthermore we get our menus and my partner and I are looking it over and we just are having the hardest time making sense of it. The menu is extremely cluttered and frustratingly difficult to decipher our waitress (who was great) had to help us 3 times to get it figured out. Due to the nature of it being a special occasion, I went ahead with "the big night out" option a two-person 4course meal which provides cheese fondue, salad, entree, and fondue dessert. with the entree you get to choose 3 items from a list of what appears to around 12 items such as duck, steak etc. the cost for this item was over $100 I'm thinking well ok at least we get 3 portions. our fondue and each course comes out with haste which was nice and then our entrees arrived and I'm quite shocked and upset, while you get to choose from 3 high-quality items you get 4 bite-sized pieces from each which hardly satisfied my partner and I. The cheese fondue was not pleasant, the salad was 3 bites worth and the actual meal failed to fill either of us, the only decent part was the dessert at the end of the night, with a tip included I ended spending around $140 only to go home and make food because I was still very hungry. I honestly feel robbed and would never return.

The hour we were there was fantastic. Not sure what the sprinkles were on the Caesars salad, but neither my wife or I wanted the unknown flavor. The meat lovers main course was great. Every piece of steak was delish. Stuffed, we received coupon for our desert.

I didn’t care for the food or the service. It was my family’s first time there and we didn’t understand the menu and we had to ask the waitress 3 times to explain it and then she still didn’t explain it correct for us to understand, it was like we were a bother for her to deal with. I won’t recommend. Disappointed because I’m a single mom who works 52 hours a week, this was my only day off in 2 weeks, I took my kids out to spend time and then we get horrible service.

We were extremely pleased with the experience we had here! The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was great! While the service was good our server could have been a bit more attentive. You should be forwarned that the full 4-course experience will take 2 hours so I would not recommend trying to catch something afterward.

Had a blast and it was definitely a neat experience. Cooking broth was excellent and the service was great. Food was solid quality as well. My only gripe would be the dipping sauces...out of the 5 brought over I didn't care for 2 (curry and bleu cheese). The other 3 were okay but would have expected more uniqueness than sweet n' sour and teriyaki sauce. Nevertheless, I'd definitely revisit.

Way overpriced for the quality of the food - could have eaten real cuisine at the best sushi bar for the same money. This is average food with a gimmick. And what kind of restaurant runs out of coffee? Our server was very friendly, eager, a little nervous and very well-meaning ... can’t even fault him for forgetting our salads - mgr packed them to go and didn’t charge us.

We were barely waited on and it was not busy at all. When we requested a table with 2 burners we were told we couldn't as they were all taken, but there was only 4 people total in there eating the entire time we were.

We even had to remind our waitress of items that we ordered as they were not brought out.

My husband and I came out for date night and enjoyed a cocktail at the bar while waiting to be seated. We were then seated in a cozy corner spot on the bottom floor. The ambiance was great! I also liked the table we were seated at. Everything was great—I just don’t think it’s worth the price. Boiled meat? Ugh. We definitely enjoyed the overall experience. However, I can’t see myself ever going back. The food did not blow my mind and I feel like it should have for the price tag... $255 for two people.
