We had reservations for 8 pm, we were there 10 minutes early and were not seated until 830. They had plenty of open tables and not busy, so not really a reason to be delayed. I requested lemon for my water, which I never received. We came for cheese and chocolate fondue, but when we had our chocolate, with the sweet additons of cheesecake and berries they were out of cheese cake so they didn't serve it since they didn't do substitutions, also the chocolate fondue as requested was carmel chocolate and heath bar, but they were out of heath/toffee pieces so they asked if we wanted to sub candied pecans.
Overall not please with service.
My friend and I come to the MP several times a year for her birthday, then mine.. this time was a 'just because'... and well worth it... creative, good food, laughter, quiet ... what isn't to like. This time our server was fantabulous!
I made reservations a week in advance and added the birthday package for my wife. That's why we were dining there this time.
They called about 2 hours before our scheduled reservation to tell me that they were out of the balloon bouquet that was part of the birthday package (a week advance notice was not enough time for them to go buy the balloons, I guess).
I cancelled the birthday package and kept the reservations.
Dinner went fairly well and we ordered the USO menu, all you can eat. Dinner went well until we ordered a refill for our plates. It took them 45 minutes to bring the refills. I refused them and ordered dessert. While waiting for that, I had to ask for the table to be cleared and then again later to have the table cleaned before the dessert was prepared.
This place charges premium prices for the gimmick of you cooking your own food. The service should be 10 times better. There should be ZERO frustration when you pay that much for what you get.
I would not recommend friends to go here.
You can do much better at many other places.
Our server was amazing!! We had a fantastic experience!
I have been to several Melting Pot locations and this one is pretty much on par in most regards. The table service was friendly, the food was tasty and fresh, and the place was clean. The only disappointing portion of the evening was the check-in service. The hostesses were unfriendly, almost dismissive, and seemed largely uninterested in service. Despite our reservation, we got a curt "Yeah, it will still be 30-40 minutes and you can sit over there if you want" with a vague wave toward the bar. So, if you are willing to endure your initial interaction, the rest of the evening should be quite pleasant once seated.
Service was horrible and not what we have experienced in the past. The food was okay but not great. The location appears to have staffing issues. Waiting for drinks and even time between check in from the waiter is long. I will not recommend and will not be returning again.
Great night out. We had a discount we purchased and they made it really easy to use Food was better than ever and service was great. Main complaint is the music and type of music was crazy loud. It was hard to hold a conversation and the type of music felt out of place. It certainly didn’t feel like a special night out but we didn’t intend it to be.
Service was inattentive. We were out of water for quite awhile. Food was way overpriced and under seasoned. Also, they added a 3% surcharge, which we were told upon asking that it’s to help the employees. If they charge that much they should be paying their employees well enough to not need to add to the cost of my bill.
Great menu with lots of options. Service is always fantastic, as is the food. Banana Foster Fondue - to die for
Excellent food, even better service. We were most fortunate to have Christian as our waiter. He, very patiently, took us through the entire process of how to order, suggestions on what to order, all in a very relaxed atmosphere. Neither my wife nor I had been to the Melting Pot before, so we welcomed all the help.
From the front desk, through the bar, to our table, through the last "burp", everything went very smoothly.
Kudos for your hiring practices They worked very well.
Our reservation was at 7:15, October 9, 2018 for my daughter's 21st birthday. We were promptly seated. We were not greeted or even served water for 5-7 minutes. Once the waiter showed up he was very friendly and talked about the menu some and started to walk away and I said we would like to order some beverages, there were three of us. Especially for a memorable moment for my daughter to order an alcohol beverage for her first time. We were served our cheese dip promptly. We waited 15-20 minutes for our drinks. We had already finished the cheese course at this time. We never did order a 2nd drink due to the wait time. By the time all was done with courses, it was 9:30pm. The bill came to $234.00. Sorry to say but it will be a long time before I return, if I do. This was our 2nd time there.
Worst experience ever! Very horrible service and the food was bad quality
Nothing special. Service was extremely slow. Total time there was 2.5 hours. Total time eating maybe 1 hour. Never again!
Slow and poor services. We had to wait about 30mins between each course for the wait staff to come back by. They brought dirty dishes from other tables, sat them on our table and then took our dishes away. They were out of glasses so they had to take our glasses away to refill our drinks. Only positive here is that while we waited for our reservation, we sat at the bar and saw that they have a great bartender that can make drinks properly.
I was surprised and disappointed with all the "extra" charges. $7-9 to have any flavor broth (other than vegetable) to cook the protein portion of our meal is crazy. for 3 courses and $103 for 2 people the portions are small (thankful we had got a groupon, but still at $62 still seemed high for what we got). Our server barely came around and had to flag someone down to refill water. The table across from us had an issue with their overhead light - it kept going out.. their waitress brought out at BROOM and used the handle to "tap" the light in order for it to come back on OVER THEIR FOOD, WHILE THEY WERE EATING!!!!! this happened TWICE while we were there..
Also, I didn't like the 3% surcharge for "labor benefits" you serve FONDUE.. the HIGH markup on some cheese, bread and small portions of meat should be more than enough to cover the employee benefits the state has implemented...
Is always fantastic, waitress was very sweet..food is always excellent
Mitchell our server was awesome! We we're newbies and he made sure we understood the menu and how it worked. The boyfriend had a wonderful 30th birthday!
The service was horrible, in both the bar and the restaurant. This is the second time I’ve been here in three months that I’ve had this experience. The only reason I went back is because I had coupons to use, and even with those, the price was exorbitant given the small amount of food that we got. Very disappointed.
Great service all around from the manager to the waiter who was just in training.
I had never been there before, so the experience was a great one, from the greeting, to the outstanding waiter knowledge and attentiveness. I will make it place to revisit for special occasions. Very friendly staff!
We got there at 13:05 and where told by the woman at the front that we are too early for a 13:15 reservation and said to to sit and wait. When we got to the table we noticed dust covering the entier wall where we sat (Which made my wife sick). While eating the area we where sitting had flys all around and even kept landing on my food which I would not eat because who wants to eat fly covered food? The food from we did get to enjoy was good but sad that 1/3 was covered in flys and dust.
I've only been to The Melting Pot one other time for dessert at the bar, it was fantastic then. Decided to come experience the 4-course experience and while the fondue and dessert were great, boiled meat in flavored liquid were not pleasant. For the price, I was expecting a higher class experience with our meat and it was not that.
I'd recommend this place for happy hour, appetizer fondue and a dessert. Not recommended for the "full" experience.
Extremely unhappy with our server. There was 4 of us, one being a vegan. When we asked for one of the 2 burner table across from us he said both tables were booked. One of them was never occupied during our time there. Besides being very dissatisfied with how he handled that situation he clearly didn’t know what he was doing. He had to redo the vegan cheese forgot things and very slow. Despite the awful server the other guys who served our salads and cleared our dishes were great and the food was good. It was the 1st time I had been and it was for my birthday. Not sure I’ll be coming back.....our server was that bad.
First time at the melting pot. Went for our anniversary. This place is so so good! it was great in every way. Can't wait to go back!
We came to celebrate a family dinner and the experience was great!!
We had a reservation for 7pm and were not seated until 7:22.
Our server was awesome!!!!!!!!! He was friendly, professional, and attentive.
Extremely disappointed....I have been to the melting pot countless times in years prior. Decided to return for the first time in a few years to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary. The dinner took over 3hrs, the waitress mentioned multiple times that she "forgot we were there". We were seated in an area hidden in the back, we did not receive drink refills, our salads were soggy, we had to request items at least 3 times before they were received, and we were told when the bill came there was a 3% upcharge for using a groupon. Why offer a deal if you are just going to charge more anyways? For terrible service, unfortunately not very good food, and an overly long meal, I do not think I will return. Heartbreaking to say after being a customer for over 13 years...but this was my last attempt at trying to receive good service there....felt like a true waste of money :(
A dining adventure but a bit overpriced. Food was delicious as usual. Drinks were waayyy too expensive for the quality and size of beverages and slow to receive and might have been because the bartender had to read how to make each drink. No view except watching others eat, and a child running through the hall. The most impressive person was the water/bus boy who was very polite, respectful, and courteous, waitress was ok. Bus girl asked if we were done with something and when we said yes she said, 'ok cool'. Have been 3 times now and not sure I will ever need to again. It's the kind of place you expect to feel like a VIP but don't. The added 3% fee is hurting the waitstaff and not helping.
I would have loved to have desert but the waiter suddenly left us abandoned for over 20 min at the end after giving us the desert menu and we ran out of time to order desert which was the part I was looking forward to the most.
We went to the restaurant for my birthday and it wasn’t what we expected.
Was my first experience at the Melting Pot. Service was great but slow due to being down by several servers. We were there to celebrate a birthday so didn't mind, but 3.5 hours for dinner is a bit long. The food was fantastic. I recommend it!
I have been to the Melting Pot many times in Seattle always with great service and full of fun. This dinner was a 1st anniversary for my son and daughter in law. My husband and I took them to dinner to celebrate. The service was HORRIBLE !!! Times 10 !! We were there for 90 minutes and were only served the cheese fondue and salad. Another 90 minutes for main course and chocolate. The waiter never checked on us and seemed to dart away knowing we were NOT happy. We felt trapped and thought of just leaving for a pizza somewhere else. So disappointed and then the $250 bill came .. bonus insult ! 👎👎👎
Terribly understaffed during our visit. Our waiter (after finally acknowledging us) indicated he may not get to us for some time; as he was waiting on six tables. Seemed very agitated. Then a pleasant lady came to serve us and come to find out she was a busser but was merely trying to help out (she mentioned we were her first customer she’s ever waited on). After waiting a good 15 mins for our drink order, I finally got up and went to the host up front and she apologized and graciously went to the bar to grab our drinks herself after I uninformed her of the issue. We received two small watered down Old Fashions. This was my wife’s birthday no less. Not a great start to our evening. After 10 more mins, I went next door to El Gaucho to see if they had availability (which they did) and we retreated there and had a remarkable meal. Evening was saved.
Great place fun fondue not bad on price. Good for a date or anniversary in my case. Waiter Logan was awesome. Would return!
Nicholas is our favorite server! He really went above and beyond to make sure our choices were enjoyed which we really value as customers. He definitely made our dinner special! The food was absolutely delicious and we will dine again soon!
Christian was amazing despite the short staff. Everybody gave each other a helping hand and it was amazing. So glad to have had a great birthday evening with my wife. Thank you!
We had company from out of town for my birthday which we decided to treat ourselves and take them to experience the Melting Pot. As there was an infant with us we asked for a high chair and I have to say that was the filthiest high chair I have ever seen. It took me 4 wet wipes to clean it so the baby could sit in it. I would suggest that when the hostesses are busy gossiping and wasting time they might take a cloth and wipe down the high chairs. Just a suggestion.
We were never waited on will you stop for over 20 minutes and no one even knowledged us.
Service was excruciatingly slow. Half an hour before we stopped someone and asked for water. We had 6:30 reservations and they were out of cheddar cheese fondue, 2 types of beer, ran out so we had to wait for the salad dressing to be made, they ran low on broccoli and never acknowledged we were there to celebrate a birthday. Our waiter Jaskaran was very nice and apologetic. He was the ONLY person who seemed to recognize the poor experience we endured. We’ve been to the Tacoma Melting Pot many times with no problems at all. I asked the hostess as we left if it was under new management and was told the General Manager had only been there for two months. I told her we wouldn’t be back. She acted as if she’d heard this before but didn’t ask specifically why or ask if we’d like to speak to a manager. Didn’t act like she cared in the least. Hope it gets better because the food is quite good but we’ll not waste our time or money to find out.
