Excellent service during Happy Hour in bar. We were placed at a table next to 2 tables with very loud children for dinner, requested to be moved and they did. Our server, Phillip, delivered everything we asked for but his demeaner was rushed and not real personable. They ran out of Milk Chocolate for desserts so that was disappointing but offered a gift card for dessert on next visit. We would go back for specials.
We’ve been many times and it’s always been enjoyable. I’m hoping our last visit was just an off day. They were sold out of many items. We ate dinner early at 5:30 and they were out of the ravioli and milk chocolate. What fondue restaurant sells out of their main item??
It was great but they ran out of some of the food. And considering it was supposed to be all you can eat that was a little disappointing.
Everything was wonderful wish it was a luttle less spendy but was very good and we had a great date night
Not what it once was. Denny’s is a classier place.
We had a great server named Kim! She made sure we always had everything we needed. She made this experience the best one we have had her! Thank you!!
Fantastic! Our waitress was awesome.
Went before show. Stated from onset when needed to leave (left
Food is delicious but the cost is very high. Plan to spend at least 3 hours or more here for a meal.
Way overpriced. The meat was good and the Caesar salad was great. The rest was expensive fluff. Four people sharing one pot had our wands tangled and only one type of sauce was allowed because there's only one burner on the table. It's more of a date place, not for families.
Went there for my daughter's 21st birthday for dessert. The waitress was not very pleasant. You would think that knowing we were there for a birthday she could have put a smile on her face and been a little more engaged. Definitely not worth the money when you have terrible wait staff. Disappointing to say the least.
Our waiter was wonderful, very informative. All 4 courses were delicious A nice variety for trying many different items.
Food was good, service was very slow. We waited 20-30 minutes before and between each course which resulted in us missing out on planned activities later in the evening. Super disappointed with the bar menu, we always look for and appreciate businesses that help support other local businesses. We have many great craft breweries and cider houses, yet they offer Coors and Mac & Jacks. Sad panda.
Good but pricey. Menu sort of confusing. Hard to find a way to get smaller portions-lots of food, lots of money.
I was very disappointed this time. Our waiter gauked at my girlfriend the whole time and dropped and fumbled the food. We both felt awful in the middle of the meal and didn't finish close to half of our food. I could have had 3 exception dinners for the price of this subpar dinner.
The first time I went was a few d as us ago. New years eve. The service was excellent but the food was just okay, the information we got to cook the food was incorrect so it cooked too long and ended up chewy. I probably wont go back
NYE party of 4. We understood when we booked our reservation that there was a prefix menu, when we sat down we were explained how the menu worked which to our understanding meant everyone got their own starter, own salad, we had to pick 1 cheese, 1 fondue & 1 dessert, since we were the unlucky table that only got one burner. When the starters were served our friends received one starter each since they did not order the same one, my boyfriend and I only received one shrimp cocktail with 4 pieces of shrimp to share. When we questioned this to our server she said the starters were to share, but that was not clearly explained to us and why did our friends who ordered two different starters get their own “full sized” starters? Our table only had 1 burner, when there were other four person tables who had two, there was even an open table across from us during our dinner with two burners. This meant that four of us, with different tastes, had to agree on everything and not have enough cheese or dessert fondue for all dipping. When we ordered our salads my boyfriend and I both ordered a salad without pecans, I am allergic to pecans, my salad came without, but his came with and they were buried on the bottom of the salad, so he did not see them until he was almost finished. When it came to ordering drinks, I ordered a glass of the board track racer the chief red blend, which was listed under the Other Reds section of the menu. When the wine was brought out it was a glass of white wine. I questioned this to the server and said it was supposed to be red and she told me I was wrong it was a white wine. I’ve had this wine many times before, so I knew it was red, but I also googled it on my phone to show her. She agreed to take it back and bring me something else, when she came back she told me that the register only had the button for the white wine, but here was the red.
Overall, the experience was poor and was not worth the price. We do not think we will ever come back.
Love going to the Melting Pot for special events, especially New Year's Eve. Good way to end the year!
Worst service ever, slow, inattentive; 2 hour experience, plates never cleared, had to ask for and waited 15-20 minutes for drinks. Twice. Also took forever for the bill. The food was decent but very over priced. Will not return or recommend.
S my fiancé birthday chose for the extra for his birthday and they never gave it to me very disappointed
We had ordered a special add on (touch of romance) and when we got there it wasn’t added so they gave us a free plate of chocolate covered strawberries and they were very sorry about the mishap. Amazing service.
Everything was great. The price for the value- especially given they don’t need staff to cook the food, was disproportionate. But we’ll keep going as it is the only game in town- overpriced or not.
Went for lunch with the family “just because” and had a wonderful time. Excellent service and a great opportunity to visit with the family over a self-paced, non-rushed yet perfectly timed meal.
They were short staffed due to a waiter walking out. Our waiter did a great job keeping our needs met while also helping the other tables.
We normally love going there for our date nights however this time was not so enjoyable. We got seated at our reservation time which was 630. Our server was ok, as she asked what we’d like to drink and I mentioned a sparkling champagne she immediately said oh we don’t have that. I proceeded to tell her that they normally go ask the bartender and sure enough she came back with the bottle. As we started our 4 course experience we were told the beer tap went out and she had to improvise the cheese fondue, which was horrible.... every other bite was large pepper chunks that made this course very unappealing. After that we were on to our salad and entree course which we waited for for twenty minutes.... right before we got to talk to a real person one of the busers took our bouillon broth as we told him we haven’t even gotten our entree yet.... during that time one of the waiters walked out leaving our server with way more tables than she could handle. Every time we saw someone pass our table we pleaded to get more water or sauces for our entrees. Needless to say we spent wayyyy too much for subpar food, and service. Not sure we’ll be coming back?!? Sad!
There was a bug in the Eiffel Tower cocktail we ordered. Another cocktail was brought to us, however it was a margarita in an Eiffel Tower glass - the server said it was an Eiffel Tower although it was the color of a margarita and tasted like one. The first Eiffel Tower cocktail was pinkish- we were also charged for the bug cocktail. Daniel was our server he was very nice other than insisting the post bug Eiffel Tower was not a margarita. We will not go here again, and I will not encourage others to go.
I have dined at Melting Pot many times and it seems the prices have gone out of sight. $197 for one cocktail, 2 adults and a 5 year old? Plus a $30 tip? Never again.
The restaurant was empty but we felt rushed. The service was fair - the server didn’t come back to ask if we needed more bread or veggies for the cheese. He didn’t ask if we needed more sauce for our entre - I had to ask the gal filling the water glasses. Then I still had a couple things left on my raw plate when the gal came by and began taking the hot pot away as she asked “are you finished cooking?” Inexcusable.
Great food, and our server was top notch. Thank you for accommodating our request for a ground floor table due to mobility issues.
Our server Andrew was very conscientious of teaxhing us on cooking our food and making sure we were careful not to burn ourselves.
We had a great experience at the Melting Pot! The food and service were outstanding!
We were there to celebrate a family birthday. The service and the food was not up to par compared to our past experiences. I won’t be recommending Tacoma Melting Pot.
What a fun outing. Our kids were finally old enough to enjoy and appreciate this awesome food adventure. Kim took good care of us and as always the food was on point!
Overall the the experience was pretty good. The waiter was busy with a party of 20 in the back of the restaurant so his attention was diverted quite a bit. He did his best to take care of us. The noise level was a little higher than you would expect for the restaurant as the group behind us was quite loud. Not the best if you are having a romantic dinner.
Great place and excellent food every time! Good service and nice atmosphere.
Cheese course was great, but when we got to the steak main course it was terribly bland and tasteless. Absolutely not worth the price of $63 a person. The dessert course was a nice rescue but unfortunately not enough to make the overall experience worth it.
We have been there multiple times before but they were off their game on 12/21/18. We did cheese fondue, salads and chocolate fondue. We tried a new cheese Alpine cheddar with cider and it was not very good. The salads have definitely shrank in size compared to the past. The chocolate fondue took a long time to get even warm.
The server was not knowledgeable about their drinks. My husband ordered a drink with sage in it and she said they were out of sage but later returned with it saying they were out of basil. I asked about their Rose wines and she suggested Pinot Grigio which is a white wine. She also said how happy she was to be getting off shift.
Food was good, but felt a little rushed and that waitress was in a hurry. We were celebrating our anniversary which was noted when made reservation, but there was no recognition whatsoever. When we are at the Bellevue Melting Pot, waiter was attentive, offered additional vegetables, and really made experience fun - this visit to Tacoma was opposite. Food was fine, just wasn't ambiance and experience had expected.
We had a new server so not really a problem negotiating around his inexperience, He tried his hardest. We had an 8:30pm reservation almost no one in the restaurant but it was still another 10 minutes before they would seat us. When we got to our table it took a while for our server to show up. We were very hungry and just wanted to order but the delay was extreme to figure out the process of what food comes first. We had to push our server to take our entire order and get the ball rolling. When the first course was presented ,food was placed in front of us but we had no serving utensils so for what felt like forever, We had to just look at our food and we had still not ordered our main course. We also had a Groupon, special for 4 people but we were only 3 people as one of our guests had to cancel. Would have liked the offer of bringing food for four people that the three of us could share but this was not offered as an option.
Overall, we felt kind of bad for our server as he was most likely not properly trained. He was also put in an awkward position with the first three drinks we ordered where not available. The cost is too expensive for the experience we received for me to recommend to others.
My husband and I recently went on a date to the Melting Pot in Tacoma. It was a gift from our children for our anniversary. We found it to be very romantic. Our server was very knowledgeable and sweet. The food came out quickly and was very delicious. We decided that we would like to bring our kids back to the restaurant some time. The only down side to the experience was it was very pricey. It is not some where I would go very often.
Everything was wonderful we had a very nice and informative waitress. Food selection was nice and the dessert was delicious.
