The chocolate fondue was very good, however, very overpriced. We had to order an extra plate for dipping because the pieces were so small. Also, it was a birthday celebration & there was nothing special done, like singing Happy Birthday or giving the birthday girl a piece of cake or an extra goody!
All in all, I would not recommend this restaurant due to the high prices & small amount of food received.

Decor needs to be updated. Looks tired inside. Service is very good. However, the price is the main sticking point. Dinner for 4 people shouldn't be over $240.00 (incl bottle of wine), especially when we are doing the actual cooking! The 4 course price fix is fun to try, but I won't be coming back when there are other options at more reasonable prices.

Daughter’s confirmation celebration. The restaurant is run down. The booth seat fell off when ever we got up to use restroom.

The experience is fun. Kids enjoyed it.

Our waiter was amazing! He was over worked. Running around waiting on to many tables.

Property is in subpar condition and is in need of some basic maintenance/upkeep. Our booth literally broke mid-meal, for example. They ran out of veggies for the fondue (it's a fondue restaurant) and brought out what appeared to be Tostitos to fill the gap. You cannot ruin fondue; you can only make it feel weird and cheap, which is what happened here. This location needs help.

Went for a Birthday gathering... the food was good but the process was painstakingly slow... 3.5 hours to eat is way too slow... had to look for the server a number of times... we will say that the server was very nice and accommodating but not punctual.

A novel idea, something different, a bit pricey, fondue was good. Dining room is long and narrow with booths on each side. There are two rows of fondue tables and what appears like a party room. The service was friendly and good, although he didn't know the children's pasta didn't come with a sauce. Otherwise, food was plentiful and good. Wouldn't want a steady diet of it, but the fondue is a fun experience occasionally.

Very disappointing meal. Food was fine and waiter was nice, but very rushed and overworked. This is the second time in a row we've gone to this restaurant and they've been understaffed. It took a very long time for the waiter to first come to our table so we could place our order and a long time to get the food. And when he was making the cheese fondue, he was rushing so much I thought the cheese was going to spill everywhere. And afterwards, he was nowhere to be found if we wanted a refill or anything else.
And most disappointing, I called ahead and asked for the dessert to come with a cake and candle as we were celebrating my son's birthday. And of course, they forgot. The waiter was probably too busy to see the request and no one bothered to tell him which made this night less special for my son. We used to frequent this place a lot, but I'm not sure we'll be returning.

We were greeted by a Male host who was chewing something. He seemed very confused. It was very unprofessional. He told us to wait a few minutes, then grabbed a few menus, looked around and said "Um, ok, I guess". It was a very weird experience. It was so hot in there it was uncomfortable.

I headed back to The Melting Pot after probably 10 years. My original experience was overpriced and not such a great experience. I thought I would give them a shot again today. Again, a completely underwhelming experience. First, they need to invest all that money they are charging you for food back into the restaurant and update the look. It's dark and dank. The place is carpeted with a carpet that's probably been there since it opened. Dark booths and dark ceilings make it especially gloomy. Additionally, put some money into the climate control in the building. Imagine 30 or 40 tables with boiling pots of fondue or broth, boiling away. It gets very warm and humid in the restaurant. Ok so now the food. Again, just not that impressed. The salad was probably the best thing. The portions are extremely small. They probably give you 2 ounces of each type of item. This is probably not enough for most people. Didn't taste bad just small portions. Dessert was ok. We had the regular chocolate fondue which comes with rice crispy treats to dip. The rice crispy treats were stale, everything else with dessert was ok. There were four of us and the bill came to $200 + without tip. We were in the mid 200's with tip. I just don't see the value in the meal for a price like that. If you decide to go prepare yourself for a very average experience.

Its OK. It's a fun novelty but I feel like it's way too much money for food that is moderate and you cook yourself. $50/head with no drinks can really got you a lot more at a host of other local somerville restaurants. I guess you're paying for the experience, which is unique, but it's something I would feel better about if it cost 40% less.

Service was terrible and the food was absolutely disgusting. Our waiter did not make our cheese right and he was rushing due to a huge party. We were there for two hours and there was no one in the place to warrant him to rush. Just a very bad first time experience.

My server was very nice. Others (and the host that evening), not so much. One server was walking around cursing, another sounded as though he were giving his customers an attitude (although in fairness, perhaps his customers were being rude as well). Host was running around with still other servers, yelling to bus tables the whole time we were there.
All this aside, the main courses were fine, but the first cheese course was pretty bad… not made like I am used to having it at other Melting Pot locations. Came out more like a soup, I had to request additional cheese be added. All in all, I will not be back.

I'm almost reluctant to share this review as I don't want this to be a poor reflection on our waitress who did a very good job waiting on us. She was very polite, professional, great personality, very attentive when she came to the table and a very hard worker.

The atmosphere, food and overall experience was good but not great as I experienced on my first time there in December, 2017. For a Saturday night the restaurant was very busy (which I expected it would be) We were seated and had to wait around 25 minutes before someone came to our table. Other groups were seated after us and were being served before we were. Perhaps a little short on help. We are not a complaining bunch so we waited patiently to be served. As a result of this, we sat through courses longer than expected. We chose the oil as our cooking method and was informed that the restaurant ran out of Tempura batter. Also, we were informed that since we were a party of only 4 people we could only chose one cooking method. I personally don't eat fried food and thought I would be able to chose another option. We also had to adjust the temperature on the cooker a number of times so as to not get splattered with oil while trying to cook our food. We sat at a table with a broken cooker as well. The separating wall next to our table was not secure and the waitress leaned on the wall and it literally almost shifted of the ledge.

This was my 2nd time there and my mom and sons (ages 24-29) first time. My oldest son travelled from Delaware to enjoy an evening out at dinner. We all agreed that we would have dinner at the Melting Pot again. We just all felt that at $209 for dinner we were expecting a more enjoyable experience.

Extremely bad waiter. We had ordered two four course meal and a kids meal. Didn't bring two cheese fondues or two choc fondues, had to argue about it. Similarly, didn't bring any bread or chips for the cheese fondue so had to ask for it and waiter behaved as if he was doing a favor. Money totally wasted and spoiled a special day...totally not worth going to this location. Over all Melting Pot is a great place but not Somerville location.

We've always enjoyed the Melting Pot at various locations. This location seems a bit outdated in its decor, and our server must have been inexperienced because he had to ask another employee a few of our questions about the menu. Otherwise, he was accommodating to us having two young children.

Love the melting pot. Cheese and chocolate were great. Service was poor. Made reservation via OpenTable yet we had to wait over 30min to be seated. Host and hostess were disorganized and harried. Table was wiped quickly no utensils/napkins. Had to ask twice and silver ware was put in a heap on the table. I understand being busy but overall poor poor service esp for the ever increasing prices and declining portion sizes. Will not be going back to this melting pot again

First and last time ever eating at this location. Horrible service, completely understaffed, and such a negative atmosphere. Made a reservation for 7:30PM did not get seated until 8:00PM. The server was not knowledgeable of the menu and the dessert ordered was not presentable and distasteful.

Fondue is always good and we loved it.
Service was subpar: very slow and with some minor mistakes such as no water in the pot which delayed our dinner.
The venue was very different from the many Melting Pots I have visited. In Somerville our table was in a narrow corridor, and it was challenging for wait staff to service us as other clients tried to pass behind them. The front door would often be left open which would bring in a freezing wind gust of 15 degrees.
Parking was an issue on Main St, especially because of the cold. Walking 3-5 blocks was not fun.

This was a fun birthday celebration for a party of six. We chose the four course option. Would have liked to have had 3 pots for dipping as opposed to 2. I felt it was a little pricey for the amount of food you get for the main course. On the up side the Birthday girl was happy and fun was had by all.

I have been to your location many times and was always happy to come back but this time was different. The service was just ok, portions of fondue was minimal, the filet minion was very chewy and the dessert to was minimal.Usually when I leave i am not hungry at all. This time I left not stuffed. Your restaurant is by no means cheap and my daughter was treating me and I felt not satisfied.

The wait time excessive. Very over priced for small portion of the main food and have to cook it ourselves.
The only thing worth dining for is for the fondue cheeses and deserts. I would not reccinend dinner
The bill was over $200 and only 3 entrees were ordered. No kids menus Defining not kid friendly as far as dinner Should have more options.

I would not even take a date there
