The Melting Pot - Seattle Ratings and Reviews
Loved the ability to eat smaller bites of food I loved. You're able to cook the meal to whatever degree of doneness you want. Large variety of choices to make the meal something that caters to your special needs, vegan/paleo/bariatric etc. Staff is very attentive and makes excellent recommendations. The atmosphere was quiet and we were able to converse in normal tones without shouting at each other. Will definitely return.
The Valet parking has changed. We had to drive down to the entrance, but we were blocked by out coming cars. Had to pre-pay for City parking costs in addition to paying the valet. We had a party of four but were seated at a table with only one burner. Would have preferred two burners for more options. Also were seated in a section with many children and would have preferred a more adult section (I guess next time we will request to sit in the bar area).
We dined at the Melting Pot before attending the Nutcracker. Service was incredibly slow even though our server knew that we needed to be at the Nutcracker at 7:30. We had a ridiculous amount of wait time between courses. We waited over half an hour between our entree and our chocolate fondue. We had a spill at our table and even though a busboy was clearing the table next to ours, he was reluctant to give us a towel and then he just watched us awkwardly as we tried to clean up the spill.
I had an terrible experience at the Melting Pot in Seattle. I had to tell the waiter to make my meal gluten free countless times. Jen failed to do so each time. I ended up eating food which contains gluten. I am allergic to it so it was not good. The food was expensive. This would have been fine if the service wasn’t so bad and slow. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
There was a small note in the front explaining the 3% surcharge, but nothing in the menu so it had to be explained. The Ice Wine was obviously VERY OLD. At $12/glass it should have been fresh and crisp not flat and dead. The drinks came out after the appetizer was already served. The duck didn't taste anything like duck and the shrimp, steak and lobster were OK in quality. The concept is really great and it is something I would recommend to do just for the experience, but the price point was pretty high. Dinner for 2, one drink each before and one dessert wine it was $200.00.
This dinner was to celebrate a birthday. We had an amazing time and before I knew it 3 hours had nearly passed. The cheese fondue was a good start. Every cut of meat was tender and choice. The desert was the best and I nearly exploded with all the food I ate. I will be back again for the next celebration.
The dining and service were fine for a normal restaurant, and the overall experience was fun; However, they are very proud of their food and they attach a price that might make you think you were getting extra special ingredients... or something. 3 people ~$225 less tip. And that’s another thing; with Seattle’s $15/hr minimum wage, what am I supposed to tip at a restaurant where I paid a 3% surcharge and a 30% higher ticket price for food I cooked myself? Well, the guy was nice enough so we dropped another $40 bucks. For the record, that’s closing in on $90/person. Take a few hours and enjoy the experience, but maybe only if you are expensing it.
The food was amazing but we were very disappointed by the overall restaurant experience. We had a reservation at 6:45 and didn't get sat until 7:45 (on a Thursday) and our first appetizer didn't come until after 8:15. We knew the meal would take long but not 2 1/2 hours. Around 10pm we had to go find a bar tender to get our server so we could finally cash out. We probably won't go back again for dinner. Maybe a desert or appetizer only.
I gave a low rating because we were sat and it took twenty minutes for a server to come ask if we have been helped. The manager gave us a discount on our wine and upgraded for the inconvenience. I also rated so low because the little fondue forks were filthy that they gave us. I asked if they had clean ones and they brought back one clean and more dirty. The bottle of liquid they use to pour in cheese also had stuff floating in it that wasn’t apart of our meal. Over I find that this particular melting pot was sub par and needs to be checked for health code standards and cleanliness.
Pretty great experience. Wouldn't go too often because its not the cheapest place especially considering you're cooking most of your own food but a pretty cool experience. It is almost impossible for one person to eat everything on the 4 course menu and not be overly full. If you're on a date, I recommend getting 1 full 4 course meal and a side salad for the other person. That should definitely be enough for two people to fill up without feeling like whales at the end of the day. Easier on the wallet too.
This was my girlfriend's and I first time having Fondue. And our server Abraham was very knowledgeable and made wonderful selections. 2 of us ordered the classic and the other ordered the Land and Sea. We all enjoyed it. We also stared with the beer cheese fondue and finished with the classic milk chocolate fondue for dessert. Everything was amazing and we left wishing we had bigger stomachs to we could have ate more. I will definitely send people there. It made me wish we had a Melting Pot where I live in Lake Tahoe.
We were very happy with your overall experience, but I'm still confused about about the new surcharge with the wages changing in Seattle.
Nothing to do with the restaurant overall, the food was great and the service was excellent. This was more of a dining experience than just having dinner which was nice.
We live nearby and had been wanting to go for a while. Finally did go, let me say, won't go back again. When the entree comes, you'll be watching your watch instead of enjoying your dinner company. The cheese and chocolate work great for this setting but the main course is AWEFUL. I will not be returning
Took 10 minutes to be seated. Not sure what was happening. Arrived at our table; Floor was sticky where we sat. They moved us tables and our feet were still stuck to ground. This started the night off wrong and made us question how sanitary the place was. Waiter was helping a new waiter get trained. Was uncomfortable to watch the teaching happen in front of us - they were snapping at each other and we were caught in the crossfire. Dinner and drinks took forever to arrive.
The customer service was very disappointing. There were long stretches of waiting on the server to either bring or take away items from our table. Also, there are lots of seating, yet we were seated directly next to the only other two groups in the whole place. This eliminated the intimate atmosphere that the restaurant puts off. The pricing was about as confusing as my phone bill, and the food was mediocre.
We had both been wanting to experience the Melting Pot for many years so it was both our 1st time and well......we sure are GLAD we did because it's our new FAVORITE PLACE !! There wasn't one thing that wasn't yummy and the service was great especially our AWESOME waiter who was very helpful and on top of it !
Our server was terrible. Ignored us for long stretches of time (he brought our cheese and never returned until it had been finished for so long it was hardened) until we finally, toward the end of the meal, had to grab a manager to bring a beverage refill and inquire if our server was ever going to bring the extra sauce we requested when he first brought the food. Every other server was very attentive so I'm not sure what made this guy have so many issues.
The food was excellent, as always. The new menu additions were fantastic. I've wanted quatro formaggio at this location for so long, and now that it's here I'm ecstatic. Filet Florentine is melt in your mouth. And my roommate couldn't stop praising the tuna. Expensive as always, if it weren't a hundred dollars for two people we would definitely come more regularly, but special occasions are always amazing exceptions.
We usually enjoy our time at The Melting Pot. This is the first time we have had a bad experience. The standards for their servers seems to have decreased. The server we had did not seem to know what he was doing or even have basic common sense. We ended up waiting longer than should be expected, food that was served was not coordinated well. He didn't seem to understand that food allergies pertain to marinades as well.
I have never been compelled to leave a poor tip for poor service. This is the first time I've felt that was necessary. It was truly the worst service I've ever experienced.
I've been to several The Melting Pots and though the food at the restaurant was good as always, the service was mediocre at best. The server first forgot my hot tea and I had to ask for it once I was able to spot him maybe 15 minutes after my next course had been served. They did not have the cheese fondue that I wanted which the server didn't realize until probably 10 minutes after I had ordered. Usually for one person, it takes me an hour. This was almost 2 hours. An even bigger hold up was that I had a coupon for a free box of chocolate dipped strawberries. The coupon made a big deal that you had to let the restaurant know in advance so they could be prepared. When I arrived, I made sure the hostess and server knew I had pre-ordered the strawberries. I probably ended up waiting 20 minutes for those to be brought to the table so that I could leave as they "weren't ready" yet the one I got were just haphazardly tossed in the box and had water droplets on them as if they had been sitting in the refrigerator for a long time. They were fairly small and I would have been very upset had I paid $16 for them (the price on the menu). They looked like they were less quality than you can pick up at the candy store at the nearest mall. The waiter did take the charge for my hot tea and my chocolate fondue off the bill (he initiated that as he said he was very sorry) and my coupon was for the strawberries to be free so ultimately I spent less than $25 on a $50+ meal but it was barely worth even that. Very disappointed. I'm hoping the service improves in the future.
