The melting pot is a chain restaurant and most people know how it works. You don’t expect gourmet food; it’s more of just a fun thing to do with the kids. There is a manager that always comes in the beginning of the meal and gives you his business card, asking you to let him know if you need anything. However, this seems just for show and odd, Since he then disappears for the rest of the meal. The waiter was nice but nit great; he did not bring our water until our second course. He forgot my wine. In between courses, the hotplate would be left on, steaming hot and empty while we were eating our salads, which seems like a safety concern. Little things like that were irritating. The meat isn’t of amazing quality. The cheese and dessert fondue are the best things about the menu. I’m always struck that ordering a chocolate fondue for two people, which is more than $20, gives you so little chocolate to dip in. I believe it was less than a quarter of a cup of chocolate for two people, not enough to dip the variety of desserts they give you. Same with a cheese fondue. They need to be a little bit more generous with their servings.
Took my niece here for her 12th birthday. She loved the cheese and chocolate courses, the main course was too slow for her (not “intant dipping” - you have to wait several minutes for each bite-size serving to cook) but I really appreciate the fact that they have a kids menu that is much less expensive. We also each had a salad which were very fresh and tasty and good-sized; but four courses is really too much food for the amount of time they allow for serving in between the courses. Next time I would skip the salad for that reason.
A true classic! Great service and fun interactive meal. Great value! Will be back for sure!
Our meal was uncomfortable because of our server. The Seattle Melting Pot is my favorite location, but our server was awkward, ignored my boyfriend, and blamed management for the time we had to wait to get our bill. I will probably not be back to this location. We could not wait to leave.
We had a groupon and it was the best money we spent. We ordered extras as well and are really looking forward to our next visit!
My first visit to a Melting Pot restaurant in over 12 years. I made reservations through OpenTable and was disappointed when I arrived before my guest and was told I had to wait in the bar until my party arrived. As hard as I try to understand this requirement from the restaurant's viewpoint, I can't. I've made the reservation, arrived on time, so what's the problem? After waiting in the bar until my guest arrived, we went back to the front desk to be seated, only to find it was taking an unusual amount of time to identify a table. We were directed back to the bar only to be called up as we were just sitting down. After being seated, we had a wonderful server, who mixed knowledge, humor and skill to make our experience both relaxing and enjoyable. We found that one meal provided enough food for two of us. The dessert fondue, Bananas Foster, was rich and I had to limit how much I ate otherwise I would have been uncomfortable during the opera. The meal took longer than I expected - almost 90 minutes, so a word of caution if you're on a timeline (attending a play or opera); give yourself plenty of time and don't expect to get in an out in less than 90 minutes to enjoy the full fondue experience. Oh, almost forgot - the bartender in the bar was very helpful and provided superb service. Did I mention our server (I did, but it's worth repeating) - she was fantastic. I'll go back just to sit in her section again.
We go to the Melting pot once or twice a year and frankly were getting ready to give up on the place after our last couple of visits. We had our best experience to date on our most recent visit to the Seattle Melting Pot. We had the Wisconsin trio cheese fondue and it was delicious, I'd sub more broccoli for the carrots though. I did an entire Cajun meat selection after my Caesar salad and the spices went great with the accompanying dipping sauces while my wife had a chicken and two beef options. The service was very good and the only thing that kept it from being perfect was the wine list appears to be outdated as we ended up with our fourth choice for a wine.
We had so much fun here! We came for my birthday and I highly recommend this place! Especially for date night, they have a package for that and it's about $30 extra but it is well worth it! They put you in a secluded area and they prepare your table with scattered rose pedals, candle light, and champaign!
Their food was also insanely good! We had the spinach artichoke cheese and they melt it right in front of you. We also had 2 salads and 2 of the pick 3 entree's and we chose 6 different things to share and honestly we could have gone with just the one but we had a groupon for meal for two. All of the staff were great and I can't remember our waitress' name but she was so kind and personable! This will be our go to Birthday date night spot from now on!
It was awesome. Asked for the date night special and the Melting pot came through with rose pedals candles and iced sparkling cider (wife is pregnant) and chocolate cover strawberries! I however felt bad for the guys in my section that didn't do the "date night" cause there ladies were like ..... Haha anyway loved it made for a great 1st anniversary
While overpriced (which we expected), food was good and always a fun experience. However service was horrible. Waiter forgot/had to be reminded of all the ingredients for the cheese, was slow with refills and manager was rude and unprofessional. Will not be returning to the Seattle location again.
The food was great and Kelly was an amazing server!
Not enough food for how expensive it is. They must change carpet
Was given a great table around the corner from the kitchen in a very secluded small room. It was perfect for a romantic date! The service was great, and the food was delicious!
Food was great, atmosphere was a little annoying, the ladies that were across from us kept having issues with whatever they were ordering and they were being very rude to the waitress which made our experience not as great because the waitress kept coming back to us almost every 10 mins asking if everything was okay. We were on our anniversary dinner so we were kinda of hoping to be left alone for a good portion of the time.
Our server, Megan, was awesome and made the night light and fun.
Our server was very sweet and accommodating with our special diet requests. We specifically chose to dine there because it was on our way home from the airport after a fun filled anniversary trip. It was very pleasant way to finish off our weekend.
The food was delicious, the service outstanding, and the atmosphere cozy and romantic. Our server was on it! She knew all about the different types of fondue, drinks, and sides. We will definitely go back to this location in Seattle be because of the quality of service and delicious food. If you've never had Melting Pot fondue, please make it a goal to go to one and experience the fun and novel cooking method they have to offer. One of a kind!
Salad, Cheese & dessert for 4 = $190. Portions seemed very small for the prices. I've been in the past and it wasn't that skimpy.
Outstanding service! I wish I could remember our waitress’s name but she was wonderful and made my birthday so special. The drinks and food were delicious. So much fun!
A friend of mine gifted a Groupon for us to this place and we were expecting to be amazed with great food, service, and a great time. Unfortunately, our reservation was at 7:30pm and we did not leave until 9:45-10:00. The service was horrible - I don't know if it was because we had a Groupon, but service overall was bad. The food was not what we expected and was very tasteless. The portion size was not worth the price! Thank God, we had the Groupon, because I was not going to spend $163 on horrible food and service. Honestly, that would have been my first dine and dash. Overall, I would not go back ever and will not recommend this place to any of my friends.
We are frequent diners and club fondue members at the Melting Pot, but this was our first visit to this Seattle location. Unfortunately, the service was beyond terrible (dinner took 3.5 hours, no exaggeration) and when the bill finally came, my brother thought he had been overcharged so we asked to see the itemized receipt. They were literally unable to produce one. After waiting for 20 more minutes for our waiter to figure out how to print a new receipt, we gave up and left because the valet was closing at 10:30pm and we had to retrieve our car before it was locked up overnight. Disappointing because my daughter recently moved to Seattle and we would have been frequent diners here if not for such abysmal service.
Amazing food and service. Recommendating everyone I know. Can’t wait to go back
Back to school dinner.
Birthday. She loved it! Thank You, Ryan!
We love going to the Melting Pot. It is always nice to sit down and have a nice fondue dinner with loved ones. Great experience for our 3 year old and family friendly.
I have been to 4 different Melting Pots and I can say with certainty that the Seattle location was an extreme disappointment. I would like to praise the service staff, they did an amazing job. We never had an empty glass or plate on our table for too long, They were on point.
The first aspect I was taken back by was the music and lighting. The lighting was significantly brighter than other locations and the music was more of an upbeat dancing style. In the other locations we frequented the lights were at a level consistent with romantic candle light and the music was fitting to that mood as well.
Now on to the food. The salad was just ok, the greens were a bit soft/soggy and the strawberries were not quite ripe. The cheese dip was great, though it seems the portion was not sufficient for 3 people, we had a significant amount of bread remaining after the cheese was depleted. The meats in entree were adequate, however, once again for a party of 3, the vegetables (potatoes and mushroom caps) was severely lacking. Lastly the dessert, the flavor of chocolate my wife selected was phenomenal, as were most of the dippers, the pineapple pieces were nearly translucent.
The last topic I would like to cover are the birthday favors I ordered special, the balloons, a rose, and chocolate covered strawberries. When I made the reservation I spoke with the hostess and asked that the special message say "Happy Birthday (Wife's Name)", it did not include her name, and after my wife took the rose out of the plastic wrapper it went limp and curled about 4 inches down the stem.
Due to the fact that the the experience is what you pay for at this establishment and comparing it to our previous experiences at other locations, this visit was highly disappointing and fell significantly short of our expectations.
Service was unbelievably terrible. Never again will I go here. Super disappointed.
Spent our first anniversary here for an amazing dinner. Our server was extremely welcoming given it was our first time at this type of restaurant. Everything was explained well and we were very satisfied.
My fiance and I had lunch here because we were unable to make it to our dinner reservation on time. The Melting Pot is her favorite but we had never been to this location. In my reservation I requested that they verbally congradulate my fiance on the engagement. I was impressed and extremely happy when the server brought out a plate that said "congrats" with two chocolate covered strawberries. That was much more than expected and service was excellent. I was a little bummed to hear that they didn't do a lunch happy hour like the website said, but the level of service and quality of food made up for this.
Waitlsr seemed forgetful and pretty out of it the whole night.
We have been wanting to try the Melting Pot, but were hesitant about the cost in case we wouldn't like it. We found a Groupon and decided to finally try it and we are so glad that we did. The food was absolutely delicious and the experience itself was so unique. Definitely recommend trying it!
It was good, they had the roses in a vase, rose pedals on the table, chanpaygne chilled on the table, it was a nice quiet area for a Tuesday night, my biggest complaint was the waitress who just turned 18 had no idea what the Ultimate Night of Romance Packagae included, which was embarressing as I had to explain to her and she had to confirm and we didnt get everything the package said we would.
Food was over seasoned and we felt rushed. We had a 4 coarse meal and half way through a coarse the next one was coming out . Are drinks took for ever to arrive and the bill came why we were eating dessert. Felt like they wanted to get rid of us. And when the waitress took the hot oul away I thought she was going to drop it because she had dishes in one hand and hot oil in the other.
Our family had a great time! We will be going back. It is fun and tons of food!
A far reach from the cozy dimly lit ambience and the impeccable service of better examples of this restaurant. Poorly trained service and bar staff, bright lightbulbs over every table, and the type of atmosphere you'd expect at a Red Robin. The ingredients were nothing notable. No local cheeses, and no explanation of the ingredients whatsoever. In fact, the only thing about this place that smacks of a fine dining experience is the price.
The best part of the night was being seated two hours early, after that everything went downhill and just kept getting worse!!!! The herbed chicken had curry powder on it, it was not disclosed, (curry makes my husband very sick)
Once we asked, we then had to ask more than once to have the chicken removed. There was no offer to replace with something else. Nor was there any drink refill for my husband who had nothing left in his glass from r more than half the meal. Moving on from that we told the server that we could not have strawberries or pineapples, and guess what came to the table! An hour later my husband still has no drink refill, but was able to ask a mother person and get a coffee drink. We get the check, food still not cleared it takes another long while for the check to be picked up so we can leave. Very sad as this was the place we picked to go out n a date.
My boyfriend and I totally loved this place. Great for a quiet romantic night out! And fun interactive way to eat
We loved our server, he was personable, attentive and overall fantastic :) the food was delicious and timely, we loved our wine flights as well. We also got out of there just in time to go to our opera, very impressed. We liked dinner better than the opera 😂😂 thank you for a lovely evening!!
Sucks for parking. You are stuck paying event parking prices. It was over $30 to park. They also charge you a 3% more on your menu to cover the cost of paying the employees and then the usually tip amount.
Waitor was rushing us too much and it took multiple times to ask him to refill our waters before he did. Made us feel inconvenient for inquiring about the gluten free menu
