Eating at the Melting Pot can get pretty pricey, but we share 1 four-course meal between two people and it's plenty of food. It's a fun change of pace, the servers are really great, and the food is yummy. It's not for every day, but if you want to switch things up it can be a great choice.
Bad service. Server at other section was extremely loud. Our server was also the bartender so was not very attentive. Also made our drinks wrong and couldnt understand how to make them correctly despite them being on the cocktail menu. We could hear him talking crap about customers and his job. Took over 3 hours. The manager was also very unprofessional and talked peoples ears off about behind the scenes stuff, which should not be anyones business and comes off as grumbling. We couldnt wait to get out of there. Ive been to several Melting Pots of the years and will never return to this location.
Will definitely be returning! Loved everything and our waiter was amazing!!!!!
It was very nice, although our waitress did take her time coming back to our table to bring our other courses
Experience was outstanding and great for last minute. Extremely professional and provided us with great conversation along with quality customer service.
RS made the experience wonderful for our daughter! Thanks to Paul and the rest of the crew! It was a beautiful night that we will cherish!
The food was good, but the service was very slow. I understand that fondue is an experience for family and friends to spend time while dipping and cooking, but my 3 course meal took almost 3 hrs!
We had extremely slow service, despite having a reservation we were seated in the bar and served by the bartender who was also making drinks for the entire restaurant. Our dinner took over 3 hours! And at the end we paid $350 for a dinner and sat in a booth with completely torn seats like a crappy diner. Fixed tears with tape also made this dinner feel cheap. Would not recommend to anyone I will take my money elsewhere in the future.
Food was good, service was great. It was our servers 2nd day back, She ROCKED very knowledgeable, We were seated upstairs. Looking at the interior seeing that the drywall needed to be repaired and painted I was very optimistic about the food, Many options to choose from. All 6 of us left stuffed and we took food home with us, Very good place for friends to take their time and enjoy a good meal,
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the bay area. My whole family love the food and the fondues. My kids love the cheese and the chocolate fondue. They also had a great time cooking their own food in the pot. The ingredients are high-quality and the waiter was extremely nice. The place is also very cozy and the tables have a reasonable distance from other people, and this is something that I like compared to other restaurants that I have been to in the area. We will definitely go back soon.
The Melting Pot is highly specialized -- all fondue -- but is comprehensive within that genre. The cheese fondue appetizer (we always get the classic Alpine) is perfectly prepared. The apple slices could have been a less sweet apple to provide better contrast to the unctuous cheese. The salads were overdressed but generally as advertised; the red cabbage mentioned showed up as a single shred so maybe shouldn't be mentioned on the menu. For the main fondue we used bouillon and a variety of meats and the potsticker. The potsticker I wouldn't recommend with bouillon; it doesn't get crisp so it was just OK. Among the other items, the seasoned chicken was amazing, the sesame crusted ahi tuna was almost as good, as was the filet steak. The other steaks and pork were perfectly good but not as interesting as the rest. The chocolate fondue for dessert had almost only sweet things to dip, which ended up with sweet on sweet. Perhaps some greater contrast (apple slices?) would be an improvement. That said, the crispy rice treats were exceptionally good (not excessive marshmallow). The mixed drinks also seemed to be on the sweet side. Clearly they are catering to an audience that likes sweets. Overall, The Melting Pot provides a very good fondue experience.
Loved our server Mia
Great place. Went there with my wife for my anniversary and it was an awesome experience.
Our waiter, Paul, was amazing throughout the whole dinner.
The food was great. We had never had a fancy "4 course meal" and it was a very good first time trying it out. Everything was delicious and the portions were just the perfect size.
Definitely try this out on an anniversary or a special occasion.
A bit busier than usual, which means service could be a tad spotty - but I have no complaints, given that I was able to enjoy all ingredients raw or blended, just to my liking ))
This place is a combination of good food and ambience.
Very nice cozy, romantic dinner. Food was delicious and our server was very nice and attentive to our needs. I will definitely return.
NOTE: Ive said the same thing on yelp review and corp email, last friday Apr 13 (plus the restaurant has my contact info for the original reservation)...no one reached out to me five days later, still.
Have a reservation for one, made week prior, for 8pm. Arrived early and sat by 755pm. For the next 40 mins, NO ONE stops at the table. Even to offer water.
There are tables of three in front and behind me, as well as a party of 12+ to the side of me. All being attentively attended too. I have a movie at 930, which would have plenty of time to eat. 835pm I get up and tell the hostess, who was nice enough, then left.
Excellent for special occasions -- birthdays, anniversaries, dates, graduations, etc.
As always, a great place to celebrate!
The cheese and chocolate fondue were awesome. The other two courses were just okay. Glad I went but won’t go back.
Paul, our server, went above and beyond to make it a fun and memorable dinner for our group. And Rob, the owner, made sure everything was perfect. We really appreciate their friendliness! Our girls are still talking about “the best dinner ever.”
Had a great time! Our server was excellent and very attentive
In the past this has been a great celebration place that was fun and nice with a quiet setting. This time, the hostess was in a dither, couldn't seem to manage the reservations and when they finally seated us it was in a back room with no heat and was clearly normally used for storage. After waiting a half hour a server came by explained that we weren't her table and offered to get a drink order placed for us. After waiting another half hour not only had we not seen the drinks we still hadn't seen our server. Finally we gave up and went somewhere else. Really disappointing as they used to be a great answer.
They seemed very disorganized. Waited 20 mins between being seated and placing an order.
Then when we got our fondue with bread and fruits, we had also ordered meats.
The meats came 20 minutes later. Not only were we nearly out of cheese, we were almost already full.
Disappointing since my girlfriend never had fondue before and was excited to show her for the first time. Also, drove 40 mins each way for this.
The service was okay. The ambience wants particular great. We really wanted cheese fondue but the they ran out of bread and provided with browned unfavorable apples
The Melting Pot did a fantastic job of accommodating our large group! Our server was kind, attentive and enthusiastic. She did a wonderful job of keeping kids and grownups alike happy!
This is the second time that I have been at the Melting Pot. It was a fun time with the cheese fondue and the rest of the meal. I enjoyed eating there and it is fun to watch the trains. The entire party like the location and the food. The staff was great and I would highly recommend it. Thanks for a great night out.
Haven’t been here in many years and still as good as i remember!
The food was great, 4 course options is very worth it. Service was terrible, it took 3 hours from arriving to finishing the meal. The place is also quite dirty - trash on the floor, dust in the stairs handrail.
Because the food was so good, the place was quiet, and we were not in a hurry, it worked for what we were looking for that night.
I love the melting pot and we were excited to take our kids for the first time. Luckily they still enjoyed the experience but we won't be going back. The bartender was our server, he made my husband the wrong drink and never corrected it (nor even realized he made an old fashioned when a Manhattan was ordered). We had to ask 3 times for the extras meat dippers we ordered for our cheese, course we taking for ever and we generally had to ask for them. They finally gave us someone else at the end who was much better but too little too late. The bartender came by our table twice talking non sense (literally non sense) almost to be point he was freaking us out. The trains didn't bother me as other people have posted, it is in a train station, kind of expected but the place is old, food is mediocre and service was non existent. I will have to wait to take my kids to the one in Orange County (because they did think the experience was fun) but won't be coming back here.
Bread was stale, portions were small and pricing was too expensive for the experience.
The pots seem to heat up real slow at this location. It was hard to enjoy our food surrounded by loud guests.
When we arrived ontime for our 7pm reservation, the hostess infront was all confused -she said someone called with the same name as ours and said they were running late. We did not call. Then another hostesss came and looked the reservations; there was noone with same name as ours on the list. Anyhow, we were asked to wait as they were not ready. We got seated in about 5-10mins.
Area we got seated had -1 party of 7adults, 1 party of 4 adults+4kids, 1 party of 3 adults and us party of 2. Fo ther whole area there was only one sever. It took her 20+mins to properly greet us and get us menus after seating. She did say sorry about the wait, (and added, I wasn't ready yet. Hostess just sat you guys without asking her.)
This continued throughout the evening...waiting for drinkings.....then our food.....and even for the check in last (we sat for 15mins fo6r someone to run the payment). Definately, not coming back here.
Fiesta fondue was mediocre and awkwardly melted/weird consistency.
Service was painfully slow. I know fondue is a longer meal, but it was almost 3 hours. The next course seemed to never come. And twice, once it arrived it was wrong. We took it anyway though. No saying when we’d get the right one back....
Service has gotten worse since the last time. One of us doesn’t drink alcohol, and so We specifically asked for the wine in the cheese fondue to be substituted with vegetable broth and the waiter ignored it. We could taste wine in the fondue. But the service sucked so badly that we didn’t wanna argue or ask for a change.
We had to repeat our dessert order four times and send it back a few times to get it right.
Paradise was our server, it was our fist time there and she was AMAZING, FUNNY, AND INFORMATIVE, i would go back for the experince, but most of all for the service Paradice provided, made is a very, fun experience!
Our server was excellent. Very helpful. Food was good, give yourself a good two hours to eat here.
I have been this same restaurant in Oklahoma, the food and the service are much better than here. Here, they are not kids friendly even though I already mentioned that we had 1 3-years old needs booster seat or high chair, but they seems like never care for the customer note in the booking. Usually I don’t feel bad like this if I was not experienced the other place’s services.
Waiter told us upon arrival he didn’t know anything about the menu... after we waited 45 mins to sit down even though we had a reservation... unfortunate way to spend my birthday.
Overall good service, good food, good experience. A bit pricey for what you get in meat portions, but it is good for a date night or special occasion.
