It was really disappointing. Our server recommended we share two four course meals between three adults and a young child. The amount of cheese and sides would have been appropriate for one person. The food to dip consisted of three baby carrots, one piece of broccoli, and a giant bowl of stale bread. The protein course was fine, but again we got three mushrooms and a couple of thin slices of potato and one piece of broccoli.
The dessert was similar. We had plenty of cake, rice crispy treats, etc, but just three tiny slices of banana, a few tiny bits of strawberry, and one piece of pineapple.
I won’t be returning.
We were seated upstairs where there was not another soul. We asked if their was music up stairs as there was downstairs and we were told the speakers had blown out. After a while my husband got up and looked at a switch on the wall-it was volume which he turned up and the music started playing. Our waiter was very nice, but was sweating profusely the whole time and he seemed very stressed but when we asked him how many tables he was serving he said only 3. We were only having one course-not the whole package but it took 1 1/2 hours to bring our food. And we are the ones cooking it! Not sure what could take them so long.
The food was OK, but overpriced and the management seems lacking.
This is one of our favorites , but we were disappointed. Were seated and given menus then waited and waited and waited. After about 10 minutes my wife seeing me boiling left her seat and asked for water and a waitress. Five minutes goes by and nothing. She gets up and asks again. I was getting my things together to leave when the manager showed up and apologised. We ordered and had a great meal. But i clearly had a bad dinner experience. When the bill came, no change - not even a free desert. Not sure i will be back; too bad because i love fondue.
We sat upstairs where it is very quiet. Downstairs you could here that the restaurant was very noisy. The food is good - interesting and tasty. You cook your own entree so it does take awhile. The problem was the service. Everything - from drinks to dessert - took forever to get to our table. I timed it and one course took 25 minutes to finally arrive. The waiter said the kitchen was backed up, but, at least upstairs, there was hardly anyone there. Our dinner lasted over 4 hours. Not worth the time and on the pricey side. Would not recommend.
I often go to the Melting Pot, and this was one of the best experiences we have had in years. We were reluctant to go since having our first child; However the staff was wonderful in accommodating us, and we had a great romantic date with our 7 month old son with us.
Food, service, value was all there. We sat at a booth near the bar which was a good location. Some minor issues with the furniture and bathroom the management should fix. Some of the other reviews were mixed but fortunately, we had a great time and will definitely go back! Generally I would budget 2-3 hours if you plan on dining here.

Very difficult to find with poorly visible signage. Once there, we were seated in an uncomfortable table near railroad track. Very noisy and certainly not a romantic dinner table. Of course, it seemed to be mainly kids that night, so perhaps we don’t fit their demographic.
There were 2 young waiters trying to take care of all the tables. They were very friendly and tried their hardest, but were obviously overburdened. They were dressed professionally, but other workers were very casual and unprofessionally dressed. One of the workers plopped himself down at the bar for a break and whipped out his phone to watch videos, while eating a fast food meal that he purchased elsewhere. I can understand taking a break, but seriously? Perhaps use a break room? This seemed perfectly acceptable to the manager, since he had a box from KFC at the bar as well. Honestly, I felt like we were intruding on their break time and dinner. Simply weird.
The food itself was fair for us. We had a wonky heating element that took an inordinate amount of time to melt the cheese. It took a long time between courses and the dishes were not cleared in a timely manner. We purchased a wine flight and had to ask numerous times for the next one in the flight.
Other observations that we noted were dirty dishes piled on tables and left for a long time. Cursory cleaning of tables between customer seatings, and no vacuuming of crumbs under tables between seatings.
All in all, this was a very poor experience. The attitude was poor, the service was poor, and the cleanliness was poor. As I said earlier, our waiter did the best he could and we still tipped him, but the overall restaurant and management was atrocious. I expect more when I’m spending $150 for dinner.
I was a little unsettled by the torn banquette, the small portions and the somewhat hard sell of the bigger ticket item, the 4 course option. It was my first time there, I prefer to learn a little bit more about the food, the history, the experience and would rather start with a sampling of the food quality and then if excellent COME back for more!
The approach to dive right into the 4 course option when I didn't know anything at all about the restaurant or how it worked, felt too pushy.
I did however, appreciate the $15 never ending discount certificate. I think this place could be really great because it's such easy access when meeting friends from the south bay but it is outdated and tired. Nothing super inviting or fun to bring me back.
So sorry. I was prepared to love it but it just wasn't meant to be.
We have been to this location multiple times - 3 in the past 4 months. Each meal is with a large group, costing $300+. The service is typically not very good, and the meal is expensive. Tonight we had made a reservation for 10 people at 7:30 because we were unable to get a reservation any other night this week or earlier. We were seated an hour late as the large table was occupied by a group that had shown up 45 minutes late. This was after the hostess repeatedly told us they were 10 minutes from being ready, until the manager finally told us the table had not yet started dessert. Because of this our group was divided into two tables in the bar and we did not sit together. The server was inattentive, and we repeatedly walked to the counter and requested items - food, refills, drinks, etc. The waitress spilled the food, did not explain the meal and sauces, and was unavailable. We had four children fall asleep at the table. Our chocolate burned because the waitress did not return to the table. The restaurant was officially closed and all the workers brought their friends in and ordered takeout from the neighborhood taqueria, eating at the bar right next to us - yet we still had no service. At the conclusion, we were overcharged for drinks we did not order, and an 18% gratuity was added to our bill for being a large party - although we didn't sit at our table together as one party. For an expensive restaurant, the service and quality is unacceptable.
I wish I could say it was a good dining experience, but I can't. They messed up our reservation, ok that happens. There were no explanations or apologies. They fixed it by giving us a sever with little to no experience in a very loud section. We were the server's only table - table of 4. We were easy, no special requests. Once we were finally seated, it took over an hour for 4 drinks to arrive - nothing special or exotic, just basic drinks. Our cheese arrived shortly thereafter. It took another 2 1/2 hours to serve up the remainder of our courses. No one bothered to help this newbie and we were the ones who had a less than ideal dining experience as a result. At these prices, I want a fun and enjoyable dining experience. Instead, it was burdensome, not smooth, and not at all what I had hoped. By the 4th course, I just wanted it to be done. What made me upset, was that they are the reason it was taking so long, then by the time we were working through our main course, it was getting close to closing and they began rushing us. Its not our fault this whole experience took nearly 4 hours. No, I won't be back.
Such nice people on the phone, helping us plan the evening out. Then a responsive server, but a few of the notes that were supposed to be shared ahead of time didn't make it through or the sever didn't read them. An expresso ordered 2 times finally arrived - they gave it to us on the house. Unfortunately the table right next to us was very loud. The configuration of the restaurant is strange - long tables. We always like the group dipping and cooking and cheese and chocolate are always fun. It runs about $60 per person - the food is okay, but I'm not sure the fondue experience makes it worth that much. We feel ambivalent about Melting Pot - as maybe you can tell.
We had a 4 course meal here, for the cheese fondue we chose the garlic and herb quartet. It was very ordinary, the taste was over powered by the white wine and we could actually get the taste of garlic or the herb. Salads were good, we had a house salad and a mandarin & almonds salad, nothing too special but you would love to have them anyday. The Entree was prett okay, did not feel anything special about it. Now the best part was the choclate fondue. It was really amazing and this one meal made our day. I would be back to this place only to have their choclate fondue!! Overall it is a decent place if you want to go for date or have a place you want to a quiet place to have some good conversation!
My sister and I took oyr daughters here for their belated birthday dinner. Hyle was an amazing server which made our experience that much more spectacular. It is so nice to have an interactive meal that is paced perfe tly so that you can enjoy both the food and the company. We will be back again.
We went there for a birthday celebration. We were only seated 15 min after our reservation and we went 15 min ahead of time. There were a lot of empty tables but they were not seating us. During reservation, I made a request for birthday and a booth. And during the visit they told us they dont have any space and made us sit in the open area. And on top of it. they forgot that its a birthday celebration and never wished or brought the special dessert for birthday. For the food, the server forgot the ingredients of the fondue and since we knew the menu so well, we had to remind him of the missing ingredients. Never go there for a special occasion!!!
I stood in the front entrance when I arrived and went unacknowledged for a few minutes even though staff was walking back and forth. I'm patient so it didn't really bother me, but a quick "Hey! Someone will be right with you!" would've been thoughtful.
We were sat in what felt like the busiest and most noisy spot. Next to the bar, front door, service hall to kitchen, along a narrow walkway, and a view of a drawn curtain. Not exactly appealing.
Thankfully we had an excellent server. Unfortunately it was his last evening working at the restaurant, major bummer!
The food was fortunately all we needed to take the cons of the night off pure minds. We enjoyed every bit we were there once the food arrived. The quality of the food has always been great here, and the drinks were phenomenal. It really did make up for these seats that seemed to only be put in so they could cram more people in the restaurant.
Noted on reservation it was for a birthday. Not even a mention to my daughter. Nothing. Food portions were BEYOND small, beef was riddled with fat. Server was pleasant but completely unattentive. My kids had specifically requested to go here and they were so incredibly disappointed.
This place needs to get their act together but reading other reviews, I see this is a long time problem for the Melting Pot. The only saving grace was the owner Rob, who bent over backwards to try and make our experience better. But you'd think by now he would have hired better staff. The service was slow and inexperienced. The food was poor quality - the carrots for our cheese course had gotten that white crust on them. The portions were small and the check was large. We spoke to the owner, showed him the carrots and our dirty silverware. He brought me a free beer but then at the end of the meal, that beer was on our bill. This place just can't get right. Skip the Melting Pot and go to a restaurant that actually cares.
Great food, great service. Experience ruined by annoying family with two tween girls who would not stop LOUDLY singing to the songs being played in the restaurant. Will still go again, the food was worth it
Don't be fooled, one 4 course experience can feed two people.
I have been to this location many of times, but probably not for about 2 years. The waitress was super sweet, but the owner/bartender behind the bar was absolutely TERRIBLE. It took me 3 times to describe what was in a vodka soda. We ordered drinks when our order was taken. Three glasses of wine and one vodka soda. 40 minutes later we STILL didn't get it. The vodka soda ended up being a vodka tonic (at least I think it was). We didn't dare try to order another round. He tried to apologize by bringing this gigantic sweet pink drink. He seemed like he was on drugs. I don't think I will be going to that location ever again.
First of all, it was our 1st visit to this establishment. I had read a few reviews and was somewhat skeptical planning my Grandson and Son's birthday celebration there. My Grandson and Son suggested, why not, so my wife and I booked a table on line. Now, you need to know this was one-hell-uv-a great experience for all of us! The service was absolutely excellent! The staff really treated us well. The cheese fondu was out of this world! We had a very nice experience. We never waited for any of our orders. We were treated with a chocolate fondu dessert that was one of the best experience I have had. We enjoyed the 2 1/2 hour experience and upon leaving, we met the owner. He was gracious and even gave my wife and I a nice note wrapped in a ribbon for our 47 years of marriage! Yes, it is pricey, but it's an experience you will enjoy.
