The Melting Pot - San Antonio Ratings and Reviews
Not sure if it was because of Valentine's day week, but it started a little bit slow. Other than that, everything was amazing! Hallie (sorry if I mispelled her name) was a great server and took her time to explain and answer the questions we had. I'll definetely come back
The overall experience was nice however I didn't appreciate that we had to wait for a table after placing a reservation in advance. When I called to confirm the reservation I was informed that a private room would be provided for us with a special sign to note Haapy Anniversary and that was not done. Also, it took over a hour for me to get a refill on my drink and I was still charged for it! I do believe the restaurant could have done a better job with their service.
We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary here and had a wonderful time. The staff were always checking to make sure we had what we needed, our waiter was so helpful and friendly, and the food was fabulous (and so much of it!). A perfect restaurant for our special, romantic evening.
Everything would have been great but due to the fact that the rats are running around while I was trying to place my food order, this was very annoying and upsetting I really lost my appetite, I just want to walk out and never look back and experience this again but my better half wanted to give who's restaurant a chance to prove itself. I feel like that's very disturbing I pay my bill in full and I hope you get it together because we do like your establishment.
The food was good and drink specials were great.
The service was terrible! We had a reservation and were seated about 3-4 min after the reservation, no problem. About 10 minutes later someone came and took our drink orders, about 10 min after that he brought our drinks and took food order. After almost an hour we flagged a manager and he said he’d take care of us! He comped us another round of drinks. Then our first course came about 10-15 min later. I could go on and on; including the four or five tables that left in the middle because they saw a mouse or the waiter who came back after an hour and never said a word about where he had been.
The manager gave us free drinks and free dessert....but honestly we probably should have left with the mousers.
I absolutely the experience here. The menu was a little complicated. The food was fabulous. The wait staff were pleasant. I was disappointed that they did not mention the special occasion at all. The two that were celebrated would have liked the recognition I attached to the reservation.
Service was exceptional - believe her name was Ashley
Alpine cheese and strawberry salad very good
Scallops expensive and mediocre
Restaurant decor dated - booths reminded me of old Marie Calendars decor and it was too crowded for a party of 5
When I was seated my chair was dirty - I had to wipe it clean
I’ve been to the Melting Pot a few times and had good experiences it the servers took their time and made the dinner longer than it needed to be but during my last visit, Ashley made the visit a much more enjoyable experience, she was attentive and did her job well. Would love to visit with her again.
Absolutely love this place, but had a horrible experience this time. Our waitress dropped a whole tray of sauces on me while cleaning up after our main course, took a while to come back with napkins, barely apologized and then acted like it didn’t happen the rest of the evening, it was all over my clothes, phone, the table, booth and wall beside me.. It was a complete accident but how she handled it was disappointing...
Food was great. Server was genuine and friendly. Felt like the waitstaff May have have been shorthanded somewhat. Several long gaps between courses and nothing to drink for 10-15 minutes at a time. Table next to us had a manager helping their server throughout their meal.
The food was good, but not to the level that I had expected for the price paid. Each course took an hour (an hour each!) to arrive, and our drinks were only refilled once. Multiple times our server stopped by to say "ok, I'll bring out your next dish", yet didn't appear. While pleasant, she was not attentive nor efficient.
Cooking times were provided for the meats, but no timing device was provided --- negates the purpose of a tech/cell-free date night. Using our smart phones, we timed the meats per the recommendation of two minutes; however, after three minutes (only one piece of meat per each of us, as instructed) the pork was still raw in the middle.
Overall, the food was just ok and the service was lacking.
The layout of this Melting Pot is not like others I have been to. The booths are set up more like a traditional restaurant. It doesn't have the cozy booths that give you privacy like other Melting Pots I have been to. It also was very loud compared to other ones I have been too.
The service however was probably the best I have ever had at a Melting Pot. I would definitely recommend it for girl's night out and a family get together but discourage it for date night and anniversaries.
Worst place ever!!!!!!! Please don’t go a spend a dime here !!!! Super expensive for what you get. Taste terrible. The prices are super complicated to understand and you have to end up paying. For full price. You are better off in a Steakhouse than here. Please don come here to Boil your meet!!!!!!😡😡😡
terrible food that is VERY expensive. The bar drinks were severely watered down that even getting a "double" cocktail you could barely detect any alcohol in it.
I only went because it is my friends favorite (mostly just for the white chocolate fondue for desert) and it was her birthday. It is my third time at a MP and I avoid this restaurant like the plague!
The Melting Pot has never failed to impress! We tried the Taste of San Antonio and we’re allowed to make a few substitutions to the fantastic deal based on the table’s tastes. The charcuterie board was fantastic and was a fun addition to the cheese fondue. Highly recommend the Quattro formaggio as it tastes like a high-quality pizza. They added candles to the desert for my sisters birthday and ended our evening on a fantastic note. We cannot wait until our next visit!
The Melting Pot has been a favorite of mine for almost 18 years! Our visit to this particular Melting Pot was absolute top notch. Our server Matthew was ridiculously knowledgeable and so friendly. He truly presented a very professional attitude and was key to making our experience amazing!
