The Melting Pot - San Antonio
Was a pleasant experience and very delicious. Can't wait to go back
Hostess took us to our table within reason of our reservation time. Our sever was very good and worked hard to take care of our party of 5.
The fruit and bread served at the beginning was ok, but we were given more bread than anything. One burner was not very hot and never heated the cheese to a warm temperature; so it was not very good to eat at that cool temperature.
The main course meals were not very good either. The sirloin meat was tough and the filet didn’t have much flavor with regards to spices. The chicken, shrimp and pork were just ok.
The dessert was probably the best part of the meal; but again, one burner did not heat up very well and the chocolate was just room temperature. We know it shouldn’t be too hot, but it didn’t warm up enough either. So 5 of us mostly used the other pot.
Overall, our server was good. I’ve had much better meals for less than the cost of the food at the Melting Pot. Additionally, $350 (tip included) was not worth the three hours we spent there and we most likely won’t return to the Melting Pot.
The meat quality was poor. The fillet was fatty and tough. The teriyaki was fast better. We have been to one in Maryland previously and it was fantastic. This one couldn't compare. The first course, the cheese, was half the portion you got in Maryland. The desert was more like Hershey's syrup with a Carmel melted in the middle and the waitress almost forgot to flame it, although it eased brought to the table premelted. In Maryland, they melted the chocolate and caramel in front of you, added rum and ignited it. All in all, very disappointing. Never going to celebrate an anniversary there again.
My wife and I enjoyed a quiet, intimate dinner. Dim lighting made for a romantic corner booth. Food was excellent, even though we chose the pre-defined Restaurant Week menu special. House wines were excellent. Service was friendly and attentive. Timing between courses was perfect.
Restaurant Week in San Antonio! It had been awhile since my husband and I had visited this favorite. It didn’t let us down, always a fun and different dining experience! Our waitress was a personable and professional! The Queso Cheese Fondue very tasty and Strawberry Caprese Salad I will try at home. Lovely evening!
My family of 5 went to The Melting Pot in San Antonio for my daughter's 18th birthday. Our table was ready on time and decorated with the balloons that I had pre-ordered online. Our server was knowledgeable about the gluten-free options and made sure to bring GF dippers when available, and advised my husband which cooking methods were GF. All food was brought out at appropriate intervals. The server did accidentally put the graham cracker crumbs in the chocolate fondue instead of on the side, so my GF husband couldn't eat that one, though she did offer to get a new pot; he simply ate the other choice instead. The check was slow in coming, and tea wasn't refilled promptly, but those were really the only complaints. All of the food was good, but significantly overpriced, which we knew from previous visits and made the choice to eat there anyway, for the fun!
Excellent dining experience, great food & service.
We went to the Melting Pot to try out their restaurant week menu. It was wind . We felt it was a great value and experience. Will definitely return.
Restaurant week! Husband and I decided to enjoy a fun night with the kids. Had a lovely time!
Wonderful service wonderful food! Husband and I really enjoyed spending our 5 year wedding anniversary dinner here! Would absolutely recommend and will be back for sure!
Awesome place! Will be going back soon! Cute, quiet, and great for date night!
We frequently go to The Melting Pot for many occasions. It never disappoints. Great for family get togethers or for a date. Service is amazing, food is great! A++++
Loved our server Joseph.. Outstanding! He made the whole night for us! Food was great as always.
This was our first time to the Melting Pot and our waiter “Logan” was so helpful. He guides us along the selections and gave great recommendations. We will definitely be back and bring guests.
We have been coming to MP every anniversary for nine years (multiple cities over that time)...and while we love the tradition and the food with our kids now, we would love to see the San Antonio update it's look. Of all the MP we have been to across the US, this location has the most plain, boring and old fashion interior layout and look to it of any we have visited. The booth tables are way to close to the seats (the "pitch" in airline parlance!) so it almost feels claustraphobic...other locations don't have this feeling or style. We would love for this city's locale to be as hip/cool or very unique as other cities'. Service and food were great as always!
Such a fun yet nice way to spend a special evening. WE went for my daughters 18th birthday and she had the best time.
It was amazing, as it is everytime I go! I love coming back to this restaurant, simply because it is so consistent.
Great atmosphere and dining experience. Definitely outside of the norm. This was our second time there
Very pleasant experience
I love the melting pot and have been a dozen times. This time I noticed the cheese fondue dippers were changed to celery and grape tomatoes instead of broccoli and my favorite cauliflower which I thought was kind of cheap however we did go on a special $29 4 course meal night. That was the only negative and otherwise we enjoyed ourselves very much. Loved the wine flight with my meal and will be going again.
Introduced my friend to The Melting Pot. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. It was a fun experience for both of us
Colby, our waiter, was fabulous! Thank you for making the evening special!
First time here. Great service. Waiter explained everything to us where we could understand. Food was amazing. Definitely will be visiting again
Omgggg...beyond our expectations!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. We will definitely be returning. They made our birthday experience out of this world😋
Nice place to have a conversation with family or friends with out the noise of the world.
Will definitely come back with love ones.
Absolutely Outstanding evening.... Great food and atmosphere.... Celebrated our 48th Wedding Anniversary.... Thanks for making it special....
It's a nice change of pace for a restaurant experience. I was only disappointed when the loudest party of six was seated right behind us. They were so loud it was hard to hear our own table's conversation. Knowing we were celebrating our anniversary, I would have appreciated the large party be seated somewhere else as they were not busy.
We absolutely love The Melting Pot and go quite often. The waiter was completely awesome and found out he had only been there for 2 months! But something happened to us that had never happened or seen there before. But our pot exploded!! Like loud, pot flying across the table!! It was the scariest thing. Luckily no one was hurt, just a bit of water damage to our clothes and table. So the manager I think cane over and explained that this can happen and why it did. Very crazy but again no one was hurt so we were grateful!!! I kinda thought we might be offered a free drink or something for this. I mean a pot exploded on our table. Never have we seen that or experienced it, but it was pretty traumatic!!! That’s my only complaint!! Manager shrugged it off like it was no big deal. Well.. it was to us!!!
Our waiter was amazing!!
Logan was our waitress and she was phenomenal! I took my girlfriend here for our anniversary. It was her first time and it was hands down the best time. Really enjoyed the service and I have already recommended my boss and his wife to go.
We celebrated our 12th anniversary and our waitress August made it extra special for us.
Our experience was great. If you have never been to a fondue style restaurant, you should. Server was great and food delightful. It’s absolutely a dining experience.
We had a wonderful time. They even had a birthday card. The waitress was wonderful.
Our server Logan was GREAT!
He helped us better understand the menu and he was so gracious!
Jennifer was amazing!
Our server was excellent. We had an enjoyable experience for my husband's birthday. We had been a couple of times to the San Antonio location and this was the first time we received chips to go with the spinach & cheese dip and the first time we received a cooking card to remind us of the cooking times. Great experience!
Our server Jennifer was the greatest! Food delicious. 100% satisfied. Thanks
Delicious food! Fantastic service. The private booths are our favorite.
The server was great. However, this was our first time there and the pricing structure was not explained to us. The vegan menu was mainly vegetables. This should not cost $40 a person. The cheese was a limited small portion and could have honestly been the highlight of the meal instead of a tray of grilled vegetables. The vegetables would have been great with the cheese. I'm disappointed with the cost as it is the same cost of the steak, but with mushroom and tofu. I will not be coming back to dine as financially it is just not worth it.
