The Melting Pot - San Antonio
Mother's Day Menus & Specials
Enjoy our special pre-fixe four-course dinner. Mom does so much for the family, now it's our turn to show her how much she means to us. What better than taking her to her favorite restaurant where you can relax around the fondue pot.

Perfect night. Took my sister for her bday dinner and everyone was great. Our waitress was the absolute best
This was very romantic place and so interactive and fun.
Went here for a birthday dinner. It was our first time and we were all looking forward to a nice relaxing dinner. However, we didn't know that you had to cook your entrée, which ended up being troublesome and frustrating. We are not cooks and thus, our food came out terrible. We left the items in for the recommended times, yet they always came out undercooked. We finally ate undercooked broccoli & potatoes because we just wanted to get on to the meats. And the meats are just boiled so they didn't taste very good either. I wish we had been offered the chargrilled option. Overall, our meal was not worth what we paid, especially considering that we did most of the work.
Cheese fondue: It was just OK. At $9 per person, I was expecting the spread of veggie dippers to be better, but it was only celery, carrots and grape tomatoes. Would've liked to have seen cauliflower, broccoli, zucchini.
Entrée: As stated above, none of the five of us really loved it. It was passable at best.
Dessert: The only good part of the experience.
Service was great. When we arrived the place seemed empty but as they took us to our table it was actually full. Food was really good and it was an experience to cook it yourself.
Always a good time whether celebrating a special occasion or just a simple night on the town.
Hard to beat the food. Staff was great. Just wish it was a bit more affordable so could enjoy more often.
My kids love coming here and we had a great dinner. Our server was great but I have to complain about the host stand. When we walked in, 3 people standing. Only one says hello and the other seem lost on what to do. No biggie but what really disappointed me was when walking out the tall big guy with glasses who sat us and a perhaps a server with heavy eye make up said nothing. No thank you or have a good night. Even after I said to them thank you was not acknowledged. Even an another couple walking out at same time that I held door for did the host stand acknowledge we were there. Very disappointed for a place that is not your typical restaurant. You charge a high price for your food and I expect a high level of service. Again, waiter was great. Food was great. Host stand, the face of your restaurant was not.
Great evening out!
Melting Pot has a one of a kind experience.
The food is overpriced for the amount that was given, you also have to cook your own food as well.
You can customize your table with an array of decorative ranging from $12-$100
The concept behind it is fun, but it took us over 3 hours to get through dinner and that’s only after we asked to have our final course brought to us. It shouldn’t take over three hours with close to 30 minutes of us waiting for the next course to arrive which is hard when you have children. Also when you have a large group one griddle for four people waiting to cook their food takes a long time. I don’t think I’d go back but to try it out is good.
We had a great meal, and it's always a lot of fun. This visit though, our service was VERY, VERY slow. Our server did not arrive to our table for 20 minutes. We had a reservation at 6:15pm, and we were not sat until nearly 6:30. We had no drinks on the table until 7:08pm. This continued throughout the meal, and with our 6:15pm reservation for 5, we did not walk out until after 9:15pm. A prior visit was much shorter, granted we only had a reservation for 2, we still did not expect it to take over 3 hours from start to finish. Other than that - the experience was great, and we would definitely give it another try.
We went for my daughter's birthday and we had a great experience. Good place for a special occasion.
It’s not a cheap dinner, but very fun and you can make it a whole evening out.
Perfect date place .. one of the top 10 restaurants I’ve ever experienced! GOOOO!!
Pros: Great ambiance, excellent service, different style of dining that made for a great experience. Fondue was delicious
Cons: you cook your own food. And it's up to you to prepare how you like it. You basically cook everything in oil.
Fantastic service and great food. Had the romantic 4-course dinner with flowers and chocolate covered strawberries. Everything was fantastic, the flowers were beautiful, the strawberries were fresh and delicious, and the meal was excellent with a ton of food. Our waitress was wonderful as well.
We had the best date night here!! The restaurant is very dimly lit so romantic. The service is excellent and the food is so yummy!
This is our regular spot for our anniversary and usually have no issues. This year we had a new waitress that overheated the pot of oil causing splatter and burnt food. We smelled like burnt oil the rest of the night and my shirt had oil spots (hoping the dry cleaners will get it out). Not a totally bad experience but a bit disappointing for a chain at its price point to have not trained their staff appropriately.
Wonderful staff, great food, and memorable experience. My wife and I love to eat here on special occasions.
Great Service by Hanna!!! Will recommend to my friends 😊
Fun, great ambiance. Prices are way too high tho for what you get.
Our waiter was great and the food was excellent. Will definitely return.
Amazing experience as always
Seems like the portions of cheese and chocolate are getting smaller which is disappointing (we have more and more left over dipping pieces) but it’s still good!
Excellent food. Only complaint is that the waiter brought the check before even asking if we needed anything else. Other than that, service was great.
Second time visiting and I loved it! The chocolate fondue is my favorite part! It’s definitely a must visit if you’re in San Antonio! Glad I was able to take my girls to experience it this spring break! We will be back!!
Great service, great food, staff was extremely helpful in explaining everything as this was our first time
I came in by myself on my birthday and they made my night so much better!
Would only recommend for the cheese & dessert fondue. Would not recommend the grilled entrees as you have to cook them yourself. I believe that if someone is going to pay for food that it should be prepared for you. Otherwise they should just stay home and have a home cooked meal instead.
This is definitely an experience that everyone should have at least once. Waitstaff was excellent. Ambience was very romantic. Dinner was 2.5 hours, not because service was slow, but because it just takes that long. Great way to connect with people. It was fun. However, some may argue that it is not something that you need to experience that frequently, and I kind of agree. Food was unique but ok. I felt the cheese fondue tasted too strong. It is also difficult to put enough sauce on the food after it has been cooking in a water-based fondue like coq au vin so sometimes it can be bland. Overall great experience.
Went for a birthday dinner. Food was fabulous and the service was top notch!
We have been to the Melting Pot so many times & enjoy it! Sadly, this last visit wasn’t as enjoyable because there was a family with young children that were quite loud & unruly. It was hard to enjoy our dinner.
I would recommend it for a fun, novel dining experience but not for fine dining. We were there for three hours and had loads of fun tasting so many foods but we weren’t that good at judging when our foods were foods were under-cooked or over-cooked. Hence we were often eating very rare or burnt bites. Of course that’s not anyone’s fault but our own. I think we would all be better at it on a second visit.
I've been going to Melting Pots since 1996. As I have come to expect, the one in San Antonio never fails to impress. I always enjoy the whole experience.
This was a celebratory dinner with friends to celebrate a new job.
We had a wonderful experience. They made it special for us. Great food and service.
The service was great but the food was okay. Not what we had expected. We got the 4 course meal. Our fondue appertizer was bacon and Brie and the wine in the fondue was way too strong. We couldn’t even taste the cheese.
It was a birthday diner. My son received a card hand signed by all the servers. They have a large gluten free menu. Our server was aware of what was gluten free
The food was excellent and the waiterier was very nice and was checking on us to see what we needed. Very efficient. My friends and I had a great time and we will be back.
Had a great time. The waiter was new, but he was eager to help. It was a nice cozy dinner for two. Sometimes it felt like we were the only two there. I will go back.
