The Melting Pot - Richmond
Lunch also available weekdays for parties of any size with at least one day advance notice.
The food was delicious and being able to cook it yourself table side means you can have one piece on the rare side while the next is well done or anything in between. Great selection of food options.
If nothing else go for the cheese and/or chocolate course(s).
It is an experience, but do be ready to pay.
Awesome food, great service, perfect ambiance. One of our favorite go to places to eat.
My husband and I enjoyed ourself. The only problem we had was the waiter didn't go over the specialz with us at all. As well as he talked very fast and we didn't fully hear everything as a first time visitor.
Food was absolutely amazing! We were very glad that we took advantage of the holiday special as it was a great deal! Service could have been slightly better, but the good by far outweighed the bad. Will be coming back for our next special occasion.
We went to celebrate Father’s Day utilizing the all you can eat entree during the four course meal for $39.99 per person. We were put in the perfect two seater booth and we both love everything and we are long term visitors(though not as often as we’d like) to this location. Everything was romantic and perfection tonight!
Everything was very nice and the staff was wonderful
We celebrated a birthday and received a special bonus in addition to the beautiful fondue experience.
Endless entre is a good deal, plenty of food. You leave feeling very full!
Cameron was a great waiter. The food was delicious!
I recommend the Flaming Turtle chocolate fondue for dessert!
We loved the fondue and the privacy of the tables. The service was excellent!
This is one of my favorite restaurants to go to, and this particular visit was OK. Our server was great, however the person who cleared our table was not very perceptive. I had food left on my plate and I told him I was planning on taking at home at for leftovers, but he grabbed the plate touching the food with his bare hands, which resulted in me not being able to take all my leftovers.
Wonderful experience at the Melting Pot on Sunday for Mothers Day. Waiter was wonderful and knowledgeable. I had the French Quarter entree option and my wife had the surf and turf. I swapped the chicken for duck and it was amazing. Will certainly go again.
Love Melting Pot. Didn't have our regular waiter that we request. Waitress was gone for long periods of time. Ran out of stuff between staff visits. Manager did not check on us like him normally does. Expect better for taking my wife and kids there for Mother's day.
We can always count on the melting pot for a fun and unique dining experience with great food. Our waiter Cameron did a great job with everything as well.
It was a great restaurant food was excellent service was great
We love the Melting Pot and my husband especially enjoyed the new complement meat plate that you can order with the cheese fondue. Shane was a wonderful waiter--a lovely dinner date!
Went for cheese fondue so sat at the bar. Had a nice relaxing time.
The Melting Pot always meets my expectations! My server goes above and beyond, making helpful suggestions and goes out of her way to exceed expectations. The food is delicious. Great for a romantic evening or upscale dining experience.
For the most part we enjoyed our date night at the melting pot. However there was one thing that didn’t sit well. A couple of pieces of my chicken were completely gristle... this totally turn me off for the remainder of my meal. Being that it was only a couple of pieces i didn’t mention it to my sever.
Very nice experience and tasty food. Biggest drawback was an inexperienced waiter and slow service. High price was ok for special occasion.
This restaurant is all about the experience. If you’re looking for a social evening and gimmicky meal, this is the place. There are LOTS of decisions to make for not a lot of food and a very expensive tab
Service is always great, as is the food. We only do 3 courses because doing the entrée winds up being too much food. Lol. A great cheese, salad and chocolate works out awesome!
Great date night restaurant. Outstanding food and service. Romantic dinner.
What a great experience and what an amazing service from our waiter Shawn and another very cordial and respectful waiter that would come from time to time to help on the table. The first time my family and I had gone to the Richmond Melting Pot. The food was superb and the restaurant was amazing. I celebrated my son’s birthday and from the moment I made the reservation thru OpenTable and confirmation on the phone just to be sure I did it right — I knew it would be memorable. Thanks team! It was worth every minute. Until the next birthday for sure! Thanks OpenTable for making the reservation such a breeze! Aweeeesome service! Thanks for having a wide range of quality restaurants too!!!
Great time Shane was awesome great server will request him again.
The service is absolutely outstanding, the prices as compared to the Chicago Market (Where we are from) were amazing. The other patrons, this is where I get flabbergasted, not only do a lot of them NOT dress for dinner at an upscale place such as Melting Pot, but a child's Birthday party with over 10 screaming squealing girls was going on. NO FAULT of the restaurant AT ALL!!! I was Gobsmacked at the patrons, but VERY VERY VERY happy with the staff!!!
Once we were seated, it took 45 minutes for us to get our first course. My daughter’s Sprite was filled with water and although the server promised to come right back with a fresh Sprite, he never came back. After waiting nearly 30 minutes and my daughter not eating til she had a drink, we notfued the person at the front desk. The server took a long time to bring most of the items we requested. During the last course, he was supposed to bring strawberries, but after a more than 10 minutes wait and after the chocolate mostly burned off, we left and went to the front desk to get our check. The excuse for the poor service was he was waiting on others. We spent a lot of money too and our needs are as important as other paying guests. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. We always go to Melting Pot for special occasions and have done so for 20 years, but it’s time to find a new restaurant to celebrate our special occasions.
We typically love the melting pot but this trip was very noisy and made it hard to enjoy our anniversary. Food was good as always and serve was just good, we've had some really great ones so our expectations tend to be high especially for the $
Every year, since 2003, we would come to the Melting Pot for my sons birthday - we skipped "2016" & "2017" so we thought it would be nice to start back the tradition. Comparing it on how it used to be and what it's like now is night and day. My husband had to go to the bar twice himself to get drinks because we didn't know were our waiter was. The waiter was not professional, apparently the training isn't like it used to be. The cheese is made in the back or pre-made and comes out luke warm where they used to make it in front of you. The entree came out before the salad so the waiter took the entree back and brought out the salads. The California salads were great and that stayed the same. The entree seems like its less food than it used to be and for the dessert, the flaming turtle didn't tase like it used to plus they no longer put bite size cheesecake on the plates anymore. When you spend $250 for 3 people to eat, you expect a trained waitstaff and higher quality food than what was served. My guess is the Melting Pot stopped buying higher quality food to save a buck.... For us, this was the end of our tradition.....
The cheese dips were so yummy! Also tried the Melting Pot mule for the first time - delicious!
We have eaten here a number of times, usually for our anniversary. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary so this was a very special evening. We had requested one of the private tables which are situated in a small private room with a curtain which was very nice and kept the noise down from some very loud diners nearby. That was the good part. The bad part was that it felt like our waiter Phil may have forgotten about us in there. He didn't seem to stop by as often to adjust the burner to keep things from getting too hot or scorching like other servers do when you're out in a main aisle. Other than that, everything was wonderful!
In previous years when I've booked our reservation on Open Table and advised the Melting Pot that it was our anniversary, the staff seemed to know that it advance and when we left we were given a gift box with 2 huge chocolate cover strawberries and a discount coupon for a future visit. This visit, our waiter Phil didn't know it was our anniversary. He did ask if we were celebrating anything and we told him we were. He congratulated us and that was it. No discount coupon, no strawberries, no nothing. Not sure if the restaurant has changed their policy as a cost cutting measure or if Phil forgot! We still had a good time and enjoyed our food but that was a bit disappointing.
We had a GREAT experience. Our server was awesome. This was my kids first time and they are already planning another visit.
I had a great time! This was my boyfriends first time going and it was a great experience for both of us.
The Melting Pot is our go-to for special occasions, especially birthdays for our (adult) kids. The food is always great and Kara, our server was excellent and made the night out even better.
The food was awesome as always our server was very good and attentive. My wife's birthday was as great as it could be.
Fancy place with plates of various meats or fruit/dessert or breads to dip into broths, cheeses, or chocolate fondues. Kids do have a menu but frome what I can tell many prefer just cheese and dessert fondues. Expensive. Great for a date night or special event.
