As always, The Melting Pot was worth it! I met three other friends there, one of whom had never been. We enjoyed the four-course menu and some wine as we caught up with one another. We thought it was a ladies night, but we were mistaken. But even paying more than we had planned to didn't dampen our laid back evening. Our server was great, as was all of our food. We all had trouble reading the menu with the ambiance lighting, but we managed. :)
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary dinner. The food was delicious and we were not at all rushed. The table was private and quiet. Perfect food and setting for a special occasion
I counted no less than 4 glasses or something dropped somewhere at various time. Also, some waitress over the wall was yelling instructions to her table which destroyed our atmosphere
Cherry blossom menu was superb!
Amazing!! Everything was great!
We went for a special cherry blossom-themed menu. It was delicious. Had a fun time.
I don’t recommend it nor will I be back. This is the second time they have messed up the check royally and refuse to fix it. I went for the promotional $4.11 National Cheese Fondue Day and said it up front. Before the cheese was brought out I asked what the options were if we ate the rest of the meal there. The server said for $22.95/head we could get a 3 course meal with choices of meats and a salad. We agreed. But the bill came to $117. When questioned over its math impossibility, the server said she hadn’t taken the discounts off yet. She came back, left the check and wouldn’t come back. It was still $117. I asked to speak to the manager who tried to tell me it was actually a favor done to us but offered to take off $20. The bill read we had dessert but we never ordered it, it never came and we ended up paying for it. Even their Big Night Out Date for 2 was $95. This bill was higher than anything on the menu and all we had was cheese, salad and meats. This is very unpleasant and totally unprofessional behavior.
Always enjoy coming here. So fun to experience and they advertise interesting events too.
Love the various promotionals and new items. Wait staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Manager does a great job of checking in to ensure satisfaction. They even gave us a $10 gift card for completing a survey in the restaurant. This location is also nice due to abundance of parking. A definite go-to for a fun family dinner.
The waiter was excellent, no one rushed us and the food was very fresh. We all had a great time.
We came for Easter brunch. Service was so-so and there were no eggs left to be dyed, despite our coming because of ads promising that. Food was good, but marred by kids' disappointment and my wife's skirt getting splattered with Worcestershire sauce when our server knocked the bottle over on her serving tray (no recompense).
Having been to this and another Melting pot before was very disappointed when there wasn't much chocolate fondue for the dessert course. Felt like the serving was for 2 people when we had 4. After talking to our server, we were told that they did not cut back on their serving size but they were now measuring the chocolate, etc.
This meal for four of us cost well over $200. Skimping on serving size makes us not want to go again.
It was very expensive and the service was very slow.
Food was great and service was outstanding! Our group had a great time and didn’t feel rushed.
Our waitress did a great job. She was friendly and explained everything we need to know to us. The front desk was not good though. There are plenty of empty tables, but she asked me to wait an hour for a table. I asked them if they can call me when they have a table for 2, but she told me they never call customers for that. She did not tell me that I can reserve a table on open table, and just told me come back and check if they have space for 2.
Sons 1st time and he loved cooking his own food.
Fondue are okay in taste. Not worth it in terms of cost as you get very little for the price. Service is very laid back and you probably will spend 1-2 hours here.
Overall not worth the price.
Fun girls night out! Great place to go!
Good food, terrible service
I hope this feedback gets back to the manager. We had 2 report worthy incidents. 1. We arrived to the area earlier than our reservation. We called and they said come in and we could be seated early. We walked in and the hostess was rude and said "I don't know who told you that."
2. When the waitress brought our first tray of food, she had put 2 dirty salad plates she had collected from a another table right next to our food? Yuck!
Food is overpriced. Seems that each time we go, the portions get smaller. Service was a bit slow and the waiter a bit snarky. We felt the server tried to push us all to "have our own plate". Having been there before, we knew that would be too much food for us and wanted to share.
Bathroom was being mopped with TONS of water (shoes were wet upon exit) by the lady who just came by our table and asked how our food was and had introduced herself as one of the managers.
Fun family visit for a birthday cellebration. Kids may be choosing it as a birthday dinner spot from here out, they had a great time.
The table we were sitting at had a broken cooktop. The server noticed that when he was making our cheese.. we didn't know until we started cooking our food and it wasn't cooking. Our food was just sitting in oil. We mentioned it and he turned the burner up and mentioned that it wasn't working properly. We patiently continued waiting as they turned up and turned down the burner. Our food that was battered was mushy, then burned. The manager seemed annoyed when we let her know about the problem. We didn't ask for anything, but certainly had hoped that witnessing how our food experience was going, they would make an adjustment to our tab, offer us something more than taking off our cheese course... the only thing that tasted good. The manager never returned, only passed our table several times. Again, you'd think she would have asked how everything was going until we left. The Fredericksburg location is a much better experience with a manager who stops by and says hi and truly cares. Disappointed by Reston Melting Pot.
Overall a fun experience. The food can be quite overpowered by the wine flavors in the cheese fondues and the spices or marinades for the meats course. The gentleman who seated us was quite rude but our waitperson was very good.
The food was okay but not great. Over-priced in my opinion. And menu is very confusing!
The food is always Great! The problem was the service. We were a family of 4 that had a reservation at 5:15pm. No other tables were full when we arrived. It took over 3 hours for us to get our food and get out. Kids almost fell asleep at the table. You cook your own food, so there's no excuse for this.
The service was amazing. Our waitress knew everything about the menu and was prompt on the service! Very good location!
Our server was excellent. I found the make your own options helpful going on a meat-free Friday. You definitely pay for the experience, but it is a lovely evening regardless.
Poor service. Was rushed out. Won’t go back.
Exquisite food and if you have a love for cheese like I do, this place is excellent!
Had a wonderful 1st time there! Highly recommend the French Quarter 4 Course meal!
Waitress was awesome, but took way to long getting my table refills and coming by to check on us. I dont know if she had other tables in different sections. But overall I always enjoy coming here
Delicious ... as usual. You should start offering spoons for the soup!
I’ve been here 3 times before, I would have to say this was the first time I was disappointed with my server. They seemed busy and in a rush, and normally my server goes out of the way to make someone’s experience memorable especially if they had never been, we didn’t really see our server the last half of the meal it was the manager or someone else. We still enjoyed ourselves though.
It was amazing as usual
Great for date night. Was not rushed, was able to carry on conversation without competing against tables around us.
We had a great meal. I had read a lot of reviews saying that it took a long time to get seated, even with a reservation, but we had a reservation and were seated almost immediately. Restaurant was full, too. We ordered the four course meal for three people. I have also read that the four course was too much food but we did not find that to be the case. It was just the right amount. Very fresh and delicious. Our server was attentive and very friendly, and the manager came by one point to check on us as well. If I had to choose a negative comment it would be that it’s pretty pricey. We did have a few alcoholic drinks which always increases the bill, but for three of us including tip we spent $260. It was a special occasion though so it was worth it.
Great place for a “fancy” family celebration. Upscale food with a kids menu!
Excellent food and service, very relaxed environment as well. Lots of menu options to customize your meal. Good gluten-free options, for those of us with an intolerance. Service was friendly and timely, for the most part. The price point makes it better for special occasions, rather than casual dining.
Excellent attentiveness by the entire staff. They were very professional. The food was excellent (if over priced for what it is). There are plenty of choices (maybe even too many — everything sounded good). You certainly won’t leave hungry. Be sure to pace yourself. Plan for 2-3 hours. Excellent date night with a loved one or for a meal with anyone you want to get to know better.
