Our waitress did a great job. She was friendly and explained everything we need to know to us. The front desk was not good though. There are plenty of empty tables, but she asked me to wait an hour for a table. I asked them if they can call me when they have a table for 2, but she told me they never call customers for that. She did not tell me that I can reserve a table on open table, and just told me come back and check if they have space for 2.
Sons 1st time and he loved cooking his own food.
Fondue are okay in taste. Not worth it in terms of cost as you get very little for the price. Service is very laid back and you probably will spend 1-2 hours here.
Overall not worth the price.
Good food, terrible service
I hope this feedback gets back to the manager. We had 2 report worthy incidents. 1. We arrived to the area earlier than our reservation. We called and they said come in and we could be seated early. We walked in and the hostess was rude and said "I don't know who told you that."
2. When the waitress brought our first tray of food, she had put 2 dirty salad plates she had collected from a another table right next to our food? Yuck!
Food is overpriced. Seems that each time we go, the portions get smaller. Service was a bit slow and the waiter a bit snarky. We felt the server tried to push us all to "have our own plate". Having been there before, we knew that would be too much food for us and wanted to share.
Bathroom was being mopped with TONS of water (shoes were wet upon exit) by the lady who just came by our table and asked how our food was and had introduced herself as one of the managers.
Fun family visit for a birthday cellebration. Kids may be choosing it as a birthday dinner spot from here out, they had a great time.
The table we were sitting at had a broken cooktop. The server noticed that when he was making our cheese.. we didn't know until we started cooking our food and it wasn't cooking. Our food was just sitting in oil. We mentioned it and he turned the burner up and mentioned that it wasn't working properly. We patiently continued waiting as they turned up and turned down the burner. Our food that was battered was mushy, then burned. The manager seemed annoyed when we let her know about the problem. We didn't ask for anything, but certainly had hoped that witnessing how our food experience was going, they would make an adjustment to our tab, offer us something more than taking off our cheese course... the only thing that tasted good. The manager never returned, only passed our table several times. Again, you'd think she would have asked how everything was going until we left. The Fredericksburg location is a much better experience with a manager who stops by and says hi and truly cares. Disappointed by Reston Melting Pot.
Overall a fun experience. The food can be quite overpowered by the wine flavors in the cheese fondues and the spices or marinades for the meats course. The gentleman who seated us was quite rude but our waitperson was very good.
The food was okay but not great. Over-priced in my opinion. And menu is very confusing!
The food is always Great! The problem was the service. We were a family of 4 that had a reservation at 5:15pm. No other tables were full when we arrived. It took over 3 hours for us to get our food and get out. Kids almost fell asleep at the table. You cook your own food, so there's no excuse for this.
The service was amazing. Our waitress knew everything about the menu and was prompt on the service! Very good location!
Our server was excellent. I found the make your own options helpful going on a meat-free Friday. You definitely pay for the experience, but it is a lovely evening regardless.
Poor service. Was rushed out. Won’t go back.
Exquisite food and if you have a love for cheese like I do, this place is excellent!
Had a wonderful 1st time there! Highly recommend the French Quarter 4 Course meal!
Waitress was awesome, but took way to long getting my table refills and coming by to check on us. I dont know if she had other tables in different sections. But overall I always enjoy coming here
Delicious ... as usual. You should start offering spoons for the soup!
I’ve been here 3 times before, I would have to say this was the first time I was disappointed with my server. They seemed busy and in a rush, and normally my server goes out of the way to make someone’s experience memorable especially if they had never been, we didn’t really see our server the last half of the meal it was the manager or someone else. We still enjoyed ourselves though.
It was amazing as usual
Great for date night. Was not rushed, was able to carry on conversation without competing against tables around us.
We had a great meal. I had read a lot of reviews saying that it took a long time to get seated, even with a reservation, but we had a reservation and were seated almost immediately. Restaurant was full, too. We ordered the four course meal for three people. I have also read that the four course was too much food but we did not find that to be the case. It was just the right amount. Very fresh and delicious. Our server was attentive and very friendly, and the manager came by one point to check on us as well. If I had to choose a negative comment it would be that it’s pretty pricey. We did have a few alcoholic drinks which always increases the bill, but for three of us including tip we spent $260. It was a special occasion though so it was worth it.
Great place for a “fancy” family celebration. Upscale food with a kids menu!
Excellent food and service, very relaxed environment as well. Lots of menu options to customize your meal. Good gluten-free options, for those of us with an intolerance. Service was friendly and timely, for the most part. The price point makes it better for special occasions, rather than casual dining.
Excellent attentiveness by the entire staff. They were very professional. The food was excellent (if over priced for what it is). There are plenty of choices (maybe even too many — everything sounded good). You certainly won’t leave hungry. Be sure to pace yourself. Plan for 2-3 hours. Excellent date night with a loved one or for a meal with anyone you want to get to know better.
Reservations for 8...seated and served an hour later at 9pm. Manager did comp drinks and was very kind but we all had small children at home and got Home way too late on a weekday.
Our waiter's first night was a busy event night, we knew more about the menu than he did. We would ask him for something that we knew was possible but he had to keep running back and asking which was ridiculous and made the dining experience over 3 hours. Also took extremely long to bring drinks and food. Messed up the cheese coarse and a different waiter had to help.
What a fabulous night out with friends. The wait for the table was longer than expected considering we had reservations, but the manager gave our table free drinks as an apology. Our server Jackie was AMAZING! I can't compliment her enough. She was energetic, informative, funny, and made the dining experience a personal touch. When we go back I will be requesting her as our server because she was so fantastic.
It was good
My daughter and I attended the "Galentines Day" girls night out at Melting Pot. We always enjoy the special occasion 4-course meals they put on. The Fiesta cheese is always our go-to for the first round and the Original is our favorite chocolate fondue.
Despite popular belief, fondue does make for a good business meal. Service was great and concept keeps everyone engaged.
Waited for about 20 minutes with reservation. Take a bit longer longer for dining. Price is pretty high. Services is decent but not great.
The service is slow (to top up a drink or get a new spoon etc) but the food is fun and yummy
Once again you don't disappoint. It was my wife's birthday and she could not have been happier. It is not often that just the two of us get to go out by ourselves, so when we do we like to go someplace that knows how to take care of their customers. Our waiter was on the spot and took care of everything we could ask for. Thank you for a wonderful evening!!!
We started my daughters 18th birthday celebration with the waiter spilling drinks on two out of the 5 of us. He was more concerned about what "cheese we wanted" then moping up the spilled water, it was about 4 glasses full. Two of us were soaked through the entire dinner. The waiter kept pressuring us to pick a cheese and was adamant on us order the "4 course" - we said we needed more time that it seemed like too much food. "No, no, no - you'll be fine!" of course as it was the most expensive choice on the menu. Needless to say there was a ton of food - we didn't even eat half of it, no joke we only ate about 1/3 of the food. When I asked how we would take home the uncooked food he said we could not. At that point, wet and cranky I put the rest of the meat in the pot and cooked it. For the 5 of us we would have been fine with 2-3 meals. After sitting through an entire wet dinner we were never offered any compensation for being spilled upon. Needless to say, we will not be back and if you go don't get suckered into the 4 course - not many people could eat that amount of food. For the price it was not worth it. I forgot to mention the bread was stale, the apples were mealy, and the celery was brown. YUCK!! If it was not my daughters birthday I would have left. Accidents happen, but the manager could have come over to see how things were and I am upset with the pushy waiter and the poor quality of the food. Live and learn, I should have spoke up then!!
This place is in a very quiet area. I was able to get reservations on a Saturday night for 2. When we got there we had to wait about 30 minutes for a table which defeated the purpose of a reservation. Once we were seated, the server was very very nice. BUT it took FOREVER to get anything. The total amount of time we spent here was 3.5 hours. We basically were leaving as the staff was cleaning and getting ready to leave. It literally took so long to get anything from the cheese, to the food, to the dessert. I am not sure if they were overly busy or what was happening but we were sinking in our seats. It took away from the experience because you would eat for 15 min then wait about 30 min for the next course. However on the bright side the dessert was delicious! SO SO SO good! I do not think I will go back for the 4 course meal after the experience but I will go back for dessert!
Always fun, always yummy.
Every thing was wonderful. The service and food and drinks were plentyful.
It was too hot in the area... Overall, we enjoyed it a lot!
My favorite place to eat at hands down! Always delicious!!!!
