My son and his girlfriend enjoyed the Melting Pot experience very much! They went for the 4 course classic meal with the bourbon bacon cheddar (which they loved) and s'mores for dessert.
Excellent food and excellent waitress!! She was very attentive and did a fantastic job of putting us at ease. The food was top notch - definitely my go to spot when the fondue craving hits.
Went here for date night with my boyfriend. Food was good, but not worth the $90 bill. The service was excellent though. Wouldn’t mind coming back in the future.
Great experience, but save 3 hours! Good food, friendly waitress, but they move very very very very slowly there.
We loved it
It was great and we had fun. Our server Lorenzo was great and friendly. We enjoyed it so much.
Our waiter knocked over a glass of water at our table so we had to move to a different one. When he was making the cheese and broth he sloshed it all over the burner at the table. He brought us one too many dessert trays of which he over charged us for. The food was mediocre and not worth the price. Overall, I would not recommend it.
Valentine’s Day here was a complete bust. The server left us sitting with the broth hot pot boiling for 20 minutes without food to put in it. It was like sitting in a broth steam room. When they finally brought food, they immediately threw in onions, which I am allergic to. The server never spoke to us long enough for us to tell him about any food allergies. It was a nightmare. We paid in full and left before the food we paid for was delivered because it was such a nightmare. It was definitely a date we will never forget.
Their biggest day of the year is Valentines Day. Luckily, I made reservations about three weeks in advance. Everything was great, except a little rushed ‘cause it was such a special day. We’ll do it again next year regardless. Highly recommended.
We don't eat at Melting Pot often, we kind of keep it as a special occasion kind on thing. We have been to both the Arlington and the Reston locations and have always had a lovely time. I am sorry to say that was not the case this time. It was the hubby's birthday so I made the reservations for us to have a nice relaxing romantic dinner. I indicated on the reservation that this was for a birthday. Our server A.J. was a total bust. He would disappear for extended periods of time. The waitress at the next table ended up removing used dishes from our table because when he did come by with stuff for other tables it did not occur to him to bus our table on his way back out of the alcove. He forgot to turn up the heat on both the cheese and the chocolate courses so that the contents would melt for smoother dipping. The Manager came by on his regular rounds doing the standard check in with all tables on the floor and found us captives at the table waiting for our server to come back with the bill. Nothing was EVER mentioned about the birthday and we were (okay really just me ) so frustrated by what was a lackluster waiter that we just took off after we finally got the bill paid. We have come to expect exceptional service from this establishment and were very sadly disappointed this time.
Aside from the busboy, service was awful - water glasses never got filled. I had to ask the manager to do that. Server that delivered our pots was so rude. Our main server seemed annoyed the whole time. The reception area was fine and staff polite.
Too much was poured in one of the cheeses and temperature setting did not allow for it to cook off - awful. The food is extremely overpriced! Ingredients were not fresh. We dropped $200. with 3 out of 4 of us drinking water.
Considering you have to cook your own dinner and the tables are kind of small if you have a large party, it's a bit pricey, so keep in mind you're paying for the experience.
As is always the case, the experience at Melting Pot is always tied to how good your server is on a given night. On this particular visit, our server was ok, but not great. Our initial cheese course did not come out for a very long time, and there were sizable gaps between courses. Beverages weren't kept filled and we had to consistently catch him walking by to request them. Overall, about as average a visit as one can have, which is to say it wasn't bad, but it also wasn't great. The food was decent, but you pay a premium for the experience, so the expectation is that service will be top-notch. Sadly, this is not always the case.
A very different eating out experience! Service was good but not exceptional. We went through long periods of not seeing our server. We chose the grilling option. It was ok but the grill wasn't hot at all so the food took an extremely longtime to cook. We were very nervious about under cooking the pork and chicken. The lighting at our table was too dim to properly see if the food was cooked well enough. A neat experience but next time we will stick to the fondue options.
Makai was a great host. Helpful and attentive. Explained the menu and helped us through our first fondue experience. Looking forward to going back again to try some new flavors.
We had a really good time.
While we had a 6:45 reservation, we weren't seated until after 7:15. This was probably due, in part, that it was a Saturday night during Washington Restaurant Week. To help us relax while we waited, Brian, the manager came out with a tray of cider and champaign for us. Once seated, we had a very nice dinner of cheese fondue, salad, entree, and chocolate fondue for dessert. It was almost too much to consume, but the four of us did. Our server, Tammy, was excellent. She had a wonderful sense of humor and checked back frequently. The wine list was a little pricey, but there was a choice across price points. If you're going there for the full experience, 4-course dinner, come very hungry.
Good food. But need a full bath after eating dinner at melting pot.
Great food and great service. Plenty of choices even during restaurant week. Server Becky was awesome. Booth was tight but overall a great experience.
We were so excited to go to the Melting Pot for a special going away dinner. Sadly even though we had reservations we waited almost an hour and then each course rolled out more slowly than the next. It was kind of a disaster of a meal. The waiter was awesome. They just overbooked or counted on more no shows. The kitchen clearly could not keep up. Bad management?
This was just a night out during restaurant week. Good food, good service & great value for the price
Enjoyed our food here very much. Our waitress was excellent. Looking forward to going back!
Food isn’t that special and it takes forever to get your food and when you do it is a very tiny portion not worth the $50 per person price tag
It was a great family experience.
The restaurant was understaffed. Our server was very friendly, when he came by. It took 30 minutes to get our cheese, my favorite part, but it was the wrong cheese. We then waited another 20 minutes for the right cheese, which was not good. We waited another 30 minutes for the server to come back. Our pot was burned. No manager had come by at this point. Our salads and meat look like they were just thrown together on the plates. I know the melting pot is a long diner, but my goodness. We have been coming for years!!! It was my husbands birthday, we had our kids, and it was a terrible experience. It’ll be awhile before we come back to this location.
Everything is always good but bar service tends to be slow. Small price to pay for a great time.
Great service! Truly exceptional! Food was excellent, as always. Prices have gone up, it seems. I love Melting Pot but hope prices don’t continue to increase.
My daughter and her friends went to celebrate a friend's birthday. Once the waiter found out they would only be getting cheese and dessert, they were treated differently (not as nice). He also tried to make them tip 25% by circling it on their bills. I feel he was trying to take advantage of them.
Party of six celebrating an anniversary. We enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. We'll be back.
We are long time Melting Pot fans, but Reston needs a little TLC.
Our food was great. Our server was friendly, he made a perfect cheese, was on top of refilling bread, veggies and such.
Had a lovely New Year's Eve dinner. The service from Caitlin was great. They had hats and a fun background to take selfies with.
It's not a place I would go every month, but for a special occasion definitely.
The cheese fondue was perfecly yumme and of course the chocolate for dessert was amazing!
Our salads were fresh and chilled. It was fun and relaxing at the same time.
New Years- Jose our server was awesome and super on top of our shellfish and gluten free dietary needs!
The reservation was 20 min late. New waitress, slow/poor service.
On New Years eve it felt like they didn't have enough staff. Our waitress was nice enough but we waited forever and service was painfully slow. I think she was just handling too many tables and couldn't handle it.
I took my 9 year old son and his best friend here for New Year’s Eve. We got there for an early dinner at 4:00, which was perfect because we beat the big dinner rush. It was their first time and the boys had a blast!
It was an anniversary dinner. The food and service was exceptional.
Our server. MIKE WAS GREAT
We went there to celebrate our anniversary! Our waiter didn’t knowledge that we were there celebrating, we have to asked for couples of things twice, we ordered cold lobster on the side but we had to asked about it again! My first time there not impressed at all!
The food was great but it took about an hour for the meat to come out after the cheese fondue course. That is WAY too long especially for the price of the meal. Fondue is such a good idea, a different twist on a regular birthday dinner yet I would not go back.
Food was coming very slow. Server was confused and confusing
