A little pricey for the actual food but it's a go to for days like Valentine's because of the pace and ambiance.
Excellent Food, Service. Would like to see some more vegetarian options added to the menu. Fondue is excellent
It’s a tradition we go for my daughters birthday every year it’s her favorite place in the world to eat
We had a wonderful time and it was such a fun experience. With that being said it is very expensive for the experience. I would still recommend it for a once a year treat.
My 13 yearold had a great birthday dinner. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The food choices were great and the night was perfect.
Everyone is complaining you have to cook your own food and blah blah. Thats the whole point , its soemthing different. The food was great very fresh! $120 with tip for 2 people, was well worth it. Had a great server too.
We had a party of four with reservations for 8pm. We were not seated until 8:30pm. It took 2 hours to be served our salad. They were over booked. Then when the meant was being delivered the server dropped the tray shattering glass all over the floor and food. Waited another 30 minutes for the new meats to be served.
Our server, in particular, was awesome. Side: No reason to make reservations as they don't honor them. But! It does take a super long time to get food and or drink. Servers are awesome and amazing! Love the servers. Not so much the front desk/greeter staff. They were rude and stressed.
Poor things. I feel badly for them.
Server was nice. Service was very slow. Will not be going back any time soon because of that. Food was tasty, but not worth the price, particularly given slow service.
The amount of food we got as a party of 10 was significantly less than when we have gone in the past. Many people left hungry, despite 4 courses! We asked for 3 pots but they said we could only have 2. When I have gone as a family of 5 we have gotten 2 pots. Not sure what the discrepancy was this visit.
Service was excellent! The food was great. The waitress was excellent. The chocolate fondue was amazing. We will definitely be returning.
My server was excellent, and the food was great! Will definitely be back!
The service was bad and when I asked to charge only an x amount to my cc and then I would pay the rest in cash. I got the charge back with it being 3 cents over.
Thank God for Veronica. I made a reservation for a table for two 24 hours in advance. We arrived at 7:25 for a reservation at 7:30 and we're told it would be a couple minutes. That's perfectly fine we thought, waiting and waiting and waiting. We were seated at 8:10 a full 40 minutes after my reservation. I was expecting maybe 10 minutes to ensure that we had a table cleaned off and ready to go but I was not expecting to have to wait nearly an hour when I made a reservation well in advance.
Needless to say I was livid, had I not been out with a date for a special occasion we would not have waited any more than 15 minutes before leaving. Especially after groups of four were seated before us with reservations after ours.
However Veronica saved the day and made our first Melting Pot experience phenomenal. From the point she introduced herself to the point that we left everything was fantastic and as expected of somewhere that my friends speak highly of.
After we were seated the service was excellent, the food was amazing, and even though the both of us were clumsy with fondue forks it was still wonderful from start to finish.
Overall it was good. Love their theme nights and the Girl’s Night special makes it affordable. A couple of issues with timeliness of the server but she was nice. And the bartender did something weird with my drink but he was also friendly. I chalk it up to a bad day on their parts as I typically like their venue. It’s worth checking out. If you experience issues in those two areas then maybe it’s not the anomaly I’m hoping it is.
Depends on what you are looking for in a restaurant. Was three hours for three courses, longer than we expected. Also, our pots kept running out of water and where smoking the entire time. Was difficult to enjoy our evening.
We just had outstanding food, service and atmosphere for our special occasion this evening, and they have vegan cheese and vegan chocolate - who knew??!. Great server, manager was super helpful too. Great job MP!
We waited 13 minutes Past our reservation time to be sat for a Monday night reservation at 730. The restaurant wasn’t very busy and we were very off-put by this. We’d marked our reservations a date night but the host or manager whatever the young guy was kept wishing us a happy anniversary (keep in mind when our server came over, she asked if there was anything special we were celebrating.) we were sat at a very open booth directly across from another couple when there were at least 2 more secluded options in that same part of the alcove. Our wait for drinks was RIDICULOUS (a lemon drop martini for me -which didn’t come with the sugared rim it should have and a coke for my husband). The bartender actually brought my drink and when we asked him for my husband’s coke, he said the server would bring it. We ordered the drinks at 7:47 and they showed up at 8:03. The wait for course was fairly slow (we have been to other locations and never experienced it like this). For how slow they were on a Monday evening, we were really disappointed with the service and unnecessarily long waits, even just to be sat at a table.
Funcy dining experience. Funcy is a sophisticated term combining “fun” and “fancy”.
My view is rather skewed because I prefer healthier options, but this p,ace was where our guest chose so we gave it a try. I would not typically eat at a fondu restaurant.
The one burner at our table wasn’t working hardly and with that being so, the manager finally came to our table to look at it. Well he couldn’t get it fixed either, with this being our first time it left a distaste for us. For the cost that was paid $287.54 you would expect something more, not even a discount or anything. So not gonna waste money again here.
Our server was not the most social person and would leave the table before we finished what we were saying. This was the first time that this has ever happened though and every other time we have been here, the service was really good. The manager was really courteous and checked on us several times.
Excellent fondue as usual. Recommendation is to allow 2-2.5 hours for party of 4. Great place to go for a relaxed dinner conversation or special occasion as the nature of fondue is to take a little longer than order-eat-go.
We went to the Melting Pot to celebrate our 16yo birthday. Our server and manager both came to wish her happy birthday but in a quiet way that was perfect for our shy teen. We ordered the four course meal which seems expensive, but by the end of the meal, you see that it is worth every penny. Our server offered to refill our plates several times, but we were too full to take advantage. Everyone's favorite parts of the meal were the cheese and chocolate courses. Our server, Veronica, was exceptional. She took the time to explain everything, very friendly and attentive without interrupting our meal.
This was the second time I’ve ever been to The Melting Pot. Love the experience and the food is really, really awesome. Our server was professional and friendly.
I gave my experience four stars instead of five because the service was a little slow this time. It took 20 minutes from the time we were seated to get our cheese fondue started.
Also, just my personal opinion, but I think the restaurant is a little too dark. Would be great if it were possible to have slightly brighter lighting for certain tables.
The Melting Pot is piloting a brunch and that is what I enjoyed with a friend yesterday. We have long been going to the restaurant for their traditional fondue, but we also really enjoyed the brunch and sincerely hope that they continue to have it! The food was fresh, creative, and delicious, and the environment was perfect for two friends wanting to relax, enjoy good food, and catch up. The brunch starts with fresh fruit and yogurt for dipping, followed by a jazzed up cheese fondue (brunch style; included hard boiled eggs and hollandaise sauce in the fondue pot plus a full list of additional items you choose to personalize your cheese pot) with dippers, and of course chocolate fondue for dessert. With $4 bellinis or mimosas, it was perfect!
Highly recommend this as a brunch and dinner spot.
Great location for an excellent social meal. So great not to see any cell phones as people were focused on food and each other.
We enjoyed doing the Restaurant Week four course menu. Each of us was able to choose different options and all were very good. Our server (I think her name was something like Kaysha) was excellent!
The Restaurant Week deal was so great. My wife and I had a fantastic time.
Love this place. So fun and yummy.
Great spot for a birthday dinner. Our server, Meredith, was excellent!!
Our server, Mike, was congenial and engaging - we had a great time - 90% because of him!
We had a rare date night tonight, and our server Iman went out of his way to make the evening perfect. We’re on the keto diet and he worked with us to ensure we kept our meal as low carb as possible. Really terrific service.
Went for restaurant week with a party of 6 so price was reasonable. Was excited to see that we could grill our main course; however, the heating element is a fairly small round (to fit the bottom of the fondue pots) and the grill pan is a larger square. Needless to say, the meat and vegetables that weren't over the heating element took forever to cook.
The servers were attentive and brought/removed dishes in a timely manner; neither hurrying us or making us wait too long.
The cheese fondue appetizer and chocolate desserts were very good. The main course proteins were good too; just took too long to cook on the grill for the number of people we had.
My boyfriend and I got every year for restaurant week to celebrate my birthday and have nothing but fantastic time. Unfortunately this year this was not the case. First off we try not to have the same thing as the last time so we can try something new. So we tried there Bunguignonne cooking style (which is frying your food) and she only asked “that a two dipping, is that still okay” and us not fully understanding said yes. That was really unfortunate decision, we tried to fry 3 things and found not only does it stuck to the pot the crust falls off. So we asked to get a different one and at the point she told us a lot of people don’t like the cooking style. By that point I was ready to leave, we order our chocolate fondue which took 20 mins to bring out. She had cleaned up our entree dishes so we had nothing in front of us other than drinks...let’s just say right at this moment I don’t think we’ll be going back to the Reston Location
Our server Was absolutely amazing!!
Our waitress was visibly annoyed with either her job or our table. I got told nicely by another waiter that me and my baby were in the way when I was out in the open area needing to walk the baby around. The meal experience took over 3 hours. Definitely a poor choice on my part to take the kids there. My bad.
The food was great. Good size portion, even for the lunch menu. However, the service was poor. The server seemed to be rushed and came by only once asking if we needed water. The server did not ask if we wanted coffee or additional drinks. We did not even see the server after he brought us the bill.
Everything was really good and our server was really nice. She made it a great experience.
Great Experience! Friendly staff and very informative, helpful making for comfortable evening dinner experience.
