The service was awful. Why is the service always so bad at Melting Pot? The server was super slow. At one point, we asked for water.., about 20 minutes later, I flagged down a hostess, who was able to eventually help. At the end of the meal, the waiter brought one check- we had said we would need two checks before we started ordering at the beginning of the meal! Then, we he did split the check, it was wrong! Finally, third try was the charm and the check was split. I think they need more wait staff, because they are obviously overworked/have too many tables assigned to them. The food was very good, though.

Oil for dinner was too hot and we burned a bit of our meal testing it out. After 30 minutes, they finally just replaced the oul and it was fine but that made our meal take forever.

There were 8 of us celebrating my daughter’s bday, and I think 8 is too many for the table size. We only had 2 cook tops, so we had to wait for space to cook our food, and our sticks kept getting caught up with others’. The table is too large for the servers to properly reach the furthest spot, which was evident when the table was dirty and sticky when we first sat down. The biggest problem was the lighting - it was way too dim, requiring us to pull out our iPhone flashlights repeatedly to check if the meat was cooked enough. Kind of takes the fun out of it! I don’t think I’ll come back with a party of more than 4, especially for the price.

Worst experience ever...not much food, not much fondue & have never seen cheaper birthday tchotckes ever...wilted flowers, wilted balloon (forgot picture, forgot cheesy toy) and I paid $600 for 5 people to stink like oil. Have been going for 30 years...am fully done. Folks, do it at home with Wegmans. Absolutely done with this ridiculousness. #YouAreWarned

The food was delicious but the service was pretty slow and it took our server forever to get us extra dippers, and she didn’t bring out a happy birthday candle even though I had marked it was a birthday on the reservation and then requested it. Finally after we had mentioned it to two people, we got it. Just felt kind of annoying

The food was amazing. The only reason I took off a star was because our waitress wasn’t very attentive and because the table we were sat at was so dimly lit that we could barely see the menu. The only light was over the burner and the booth wasn’t close to a window so it was tough to see.

We always enjoy the food and experience at Melting Pot. On our most recent visit, we were there to celebrate our anniversary. The manager saw the roses on the table and asked if we were celebrating an occasion. We told him our anniversary. When dessert came out, the waiter presented us with a platter that had “happy anniversary” written in chocolate. The manager then came to our table with glasses of champagne for us to have a toast. That made our dinner so special. We’ll never forget that added gesture!

My mom just passed at the beginning of March. We never ate out on Easter but decided since it was her favorite restaurant to make it a new tradition. I do understand that it was Easter and you guys were probably slammed but our waiter was not great. Was not very attentive. We were there for 3.5 hours. I have done all courses before and it has never taken more than two hours. The wait time between courses was a little insane. We waited 30 minutes before receiving our entree and another 30 minutes to get our dessert. By the end of everything we were just ready to go.

Always a great meal; this was the fastest service we ever experienced and it seemed like they were trying to turn the table. We ended up staying longer over the last course as we didn’t have enough time to relax with friends during the meal.

We really enjoy the Melting Pot. A great meal experience. We had such a large group and the server made ordering very confusing. Would have been great to have a thorough overview as to what to expect and with a group of 10 what was the best way to order meals when there were only 3 pots to share on the table yet remaining cost-effective.

My wife and I have been coming to the Reston location since 2012. We’ve only had one bad experience here but that didn’t prevent us from coming back. The food is always great and filling. The only down side, and this has nothing to do with the Melting Pot, is the cost that goes with eating out. It’s pricey but that’s what we are faced with in our current economy. The price is the only reason we don’t come here more.

The Melting Pot is our go-to spot to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The meal is always fine but every time we go, the portions and extras (veggies and dips) get smaller and smaller. And you have to ask for refills instead of them being offered. Ok once a year at most.

Service was outstanding however the food was nothing to write home for for the amount spent. We easily spent $300 plus on four people with no alcohol. Its fondue so it's not a surprise really. That said the experience made it completely worth it. I'd come back but will not bring the whole fam next time. Better for dates. All in all recommended. For dates.
