The Melting Pot - Raleigh
We went for the gusto and the 3 plus hours we were there went by all too quickly. Great experience to be done again later.
I love the melting pot for special occasions, casual dates of just cheese and chocolate, or a really filling lunch! Lunch prices are a little less than dinner, but always good no matter what time! Any location I’ve been to always had impeccable bar service.
My server did a great job and the food was fabulous. However, I do think they need to update the place for the price they are charging. The seat we were at had a huge crack in the booth. I see melting pot as a expensive date night and they need to maintain the location.
Great time. Awesome staff.
It's a wonderful experience. I bit on the pricey side, but it was well worth it.
I was disappointed is having to wait 30 min for a table ... this after they had me re-confirm a week in advance. Then, after having the waiter explain it was a set menu, and we noted seafood allergies, they bring shrimp for an app, but no offer of a substitution after we again noted the seafood allergy. Service was terribly slow, and for the set menu price ... I'd rather go elsewhere. It was not that impressive. For what we spent, I'd rather not.
Great Place for New Years Eve Dinner wit friends
We had a wonderful time on New Years Eve! The manager gave us permission to split a meal even though it was a holiday. Our waitress was very attentive and fun to talk to. We also thought the food tasted exceptional. The price is a little high at the Melting Pot for what you receive but it's a great place to celebrate a special occasion and splurge a little.
Fun place to take guests. Staff is wonderful and accommodating. Atmosphere tends toward the romantic.
New Year’s Eve
Great new year's eve experience with the kids.
Wish there were 2 burners for 4 people
We unfortunately have 2 screaming babies by us.
Food was great!! Customer Service is AWESOME!! Our wait staff was very attentive and friendly. We love going to the Melting Pot!!
I wanted to do something special for my sister 40th birthday, since we had never been I figured this would be a good place. This place was amazing the food, and just the experience was amazing. My sister enjoyed her birthday and the service we receive was wonderful as well. I highly recommend The Melting Pot to anyone!!!
I took my boyfriend to the Melting Pot in Raleigh for his birthday and we both enjoyed the experience. The setting was quaint and romantic. The waitress was very friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu and food. Overall, great experience!
In the past, one of my favorite things about the Melting Pot was how you could casually enjoy dinner over a longer period of time than at most restaurants. This time we were being rushed through. We were still eating the cheese fondue when the salad arrived. As we were eating the main entree, the assistant waiter kept clearing plates. At one point my husband was removing a fork from the pot and the waiter reached in to get his plate. I asked him to wait until we were done eating.
The cleanliness also left a bit to be desired. Food was good as usual!
Food was excellent. We always look forward to this Christmas tradition!
Great service, great food, and great experience always. Most of the time we skip the dessert, we would be full just from 3 courses.
First time to this location. Everyone was great. Christmas Eve dinner with the wife and son. We paired our 4 course meal with the Raleigh Wine flight. Very tasty. Waitress was extremely knowledgeable and nice. Definitely enjoyed our experience and will go again.
Awesome service and great food. We were disappointed that some family would bring a screaming baby this fine establishment and ruin ours and everyone else's experience.
I took my gf there for a date night and a different experience for us, it was great. Our server was polite and helpful, since neither of us had ever been there she walked us through our options and made suggestions when we asked for them. Overall a very pleasant dining experience.
Shared two meals between 4 people but only got bread/cheese and veggies portions for 1 (the four of us expected 2poetions). We spent $125 and left really hungry. Not worth it at all and will likely not go back.
Great time had bad all.
I'd luke ti see the Creme Brulee come back on the fondue dessert menu.
I had always wanted to try out a Melting Pot restaurant and I had a very good experience with the Raleigh location.
Host was welcoming, service was very good and food was good.
My boyfriend and I took my 22yo daughter and her boyfriend for a late lunch before going to the Nutcracker Ballet performance. A pre-Christmas celebration.
The server did a nice job explaining the process and options and we all enjoyed the fun experience. Made for a memorable and enjoyable afternoon.
Loved the cheese fondue! Meat selections including the lobster tail was very good. For something different, I choose the vegetarian opoand it was also good. You do get a lot of food for the money! And the chocolate fondue dessert was delicious. Our server also did a great job recommending a very good red wine we all enjoyed.
I'll definitely return!
1) Santa was set up in front of bar. All my kids photos have liquor bottles in back. Not a good background at all.
2) Santa photo was horrible. My kid didn’t even have her eyes open
3) waitress forgot to cut on our pot so our food wasn’t cooking.
4) waitress brought us the wrong table bill
5) waitress talked so fast we couldn’t follow her instructions and we had to ask for the special. It wasn’t offered.
5) to expensive for the quality of service
A 'bit' overpriced is putting it mildly. We paid $160.00 for 2 adults ($50 each) and 2 small children so would only recommend for a special occasion. We actually did this as a surprise for the little ones as they had never done fondue before. By the time the chocolate fondue came out the 6-year old gave the restaurant a '10'. The service was outstanding and with a reservation we were seated right away. Lots of folks waiting without a reservation so highly recommended. Our grandchildren are very well behaved and their patience served them well, but maybe not recommended for children who cannot sit for long periods while waiting for food to cook. We were seated near the entrance in a small booth so atmosphere was not one of their strong points for us. Definitely a 'must try' in Raleigh.
We celebrated my 9 year old daughters birthday. The chocolate course was her favorite. No surprise
Hate to say it. This place is worn and shabby. Broken down seats with rips in the vinyl. Fabric cushion backs worn to threads. Ceiling tiles falling down. Clogged bathroom sink full of water. Bathroom faucet would not turn off. Garbage caught in the bathroom floor drain. Don't want to imagine what the kitchen is like.
Went for lunch for a birthday celebration. Wait staff tried to push the dinner menu. Said they didn't have a lunch menu. Had to show her the website that had the lunch menu offer. Didn't explain the process of ordering. One member of my part had done this type of dinning before and explained how to order. Wait staff splattered oil and cheese all over the table while mixing the fist course. Then the last course had chocolate smeared all over the plates and utensils and hands of the waiter. Did get drinks refilled timely and billed paid quickly. At this price for fine dining, would not recommend this place.
It was such a good time and the food was excellent. We celebrated my birthday there the other night. It will be one to remember! The wait staff were cheerful and so attentive!
The worst place I’ve ever been to in my life.
God it was terrible and not worth the cost.
The time they gave to cook the food was incorrect. From my experience the food had to be cooked for thirty minutes yet they said 2 or 3 minutes. That’s disgusting. Food was raw, cheese was awful, drink was aweful. I couldn’t even stay for desert.
Food was expensive but it was too small and distasteful for such expense. I would never recommend this restaurant not even to my enemy. If you want to waste money and go to a place where you will not finish your food after the first bite, the Melting pot is that place. Oh and be prepared to sweat and feel uncomfortable. The worst place ever!!!!!!
Date night with my fiancé
Easy access, very comfortable seating, nice ambience, very courteous staff
Our waitress was very friendly, funny and sweet(I wish I could remember her name) would highly recommend.
Very nice place. Accommodate to your every need without hesitation. Service and staff were excellent. Katelyn was our server. She did excellent! Just very pricey. Not somewhere I would go on a regular basis. Very special occasion. Possibly once a year or two. But overall nice experience.
Delicious Loaded Baked Potato Cheese Fondue and the Caramel Toffee Chocolate was as well. Kaitlyn did a wonderful job taking care of us and making it a special night.
This was our first time at The Melting Pot and it was amazing. Our server, Alexis, was excellent! Answered all of our questions and was so knowledgeable about the food and options for us. We had 5 in our group including a child and one who is gluten free due to celiac disease. One of the best/ most accommodating restaurants I’ve been to for gluten free options. We were celebrating two birthdays, one anniversary and the exciting news of expecting our second child. The manager brought personalized cards for the birthdays and anniversary! Would definitely go back. I recommend the loaded potato cheese! I could eat it with a spoon!! Wonderful food and service.
we always love the melting pot and this particular restaurant is the best in the area. The food was delicious and the server was prompt and knowledgeable. The ambiance is good and it's a really fun place to eat.
It was a fun and interactive night. The food was outstanding and the service was as well!
Nice change of pace from usual steak, casual dining restaurants. Food was very good and plentiful, service attentive but ambiance was lacking. The restaurant could really use an update. It is very dark, but not in a romantic way. Tables/benches were comfortable but dated. Paint and carpeting seemed well past its prime.
We went for their Harry Potter themed lunch on 11/18/2018. Now, we've been to the Melting Pot before for other events, but this one just seemed to be thrown together with no real though behind it. The food and service was excellent as always, however there was only 2 employees that were dressed up, but that's about it. The little banner they put out went up after we had arrived, but there was no other decor to make you feel like this was a special event. This was a Harry Potter inspired event, have some banners for each of the houses, have the dining room sectioned off for the houses and have a game when the guests come as the "sorting hat" to see which house they're going to sit in. Heck, play music from the movies in the background instead of the normal ambient music they normal movie. Have a special trivia Harry Potter trivia contest to try and win prizes. They don't have to be huge prizes, but just to bring more to the event.
The atmosphere just felt like a normal dining day rather than a special event.
My son did enjoy the employees that were dressed up and interacted with him, so that speaks volumes about the service level. Our waitress always came to check on us, brought us drink and veggie refills during our meal, and took some time to interact with us as well. The fondue courses came out quickly and was delicious as always, so no complaints there.
As stated previously, we've been there for other events and they usually go all out. This was advertised as a special event, but just didn't measure up to other ones they've had in the past. They really missed the ball with this one.
