The food is good, though wildly over-priced and the service was mediocre. There is better fondue in Portland

Boiled meat costs $150 for 2. The price was outrageous for what we received.

While the food we received was generally ok, our bill was $140.00 for two people. I don’t mind paying that much for a exceptional meal. This meal was not exceptional. The food was just ok. Portions were lacking and really nothing special. And we both were very disappointed that the four course we had didn’t provide more cheese fondue, which is the key reason we went there. Considering the inexpensive ingredients that were used and the proportions, we won’t be coming back. Really not sure why this restaurant is getting any good reviews. As a couple who would be considered foodies, this place isn’t worth the sub-par experience. And definitely not worth the cost.
Suggestions; provide more appetizer cheese fondue as this is fairly inexpensive for a overhead, limit the options on the entree, but increase the portion size of what you provide. Retrain your staff to explain you can ask for more of certain items at no additional cost. Your charcuterie board is really not. Beef that up so it is more reflective of one.
We left disappointed and still hungry. ( and we are not large portion eaters, so..)
Staff was nice but a tad entitled. And not well trained and spoke way too fast for the info needed.
Melting Pot, you can do better, without nicking your overhead much.

The staff, from hostess to server to the manager, all tried; but their level of training/hospitality did not meet up to industry level for a restaurant of its caliber. What a shame.

Food was horrible. Couldn’t taste the meat as it was buried in spices (to cover up the cut of meat). The cheese wasn’t melted. The vegetables were huge like they just came out of a bag. Worst dining experience ever I will never go back.

Our server was amazing though.

The food was good. The service was terrible this night. We were seated and did not see our waiter for at least 10 minutes. We had to ask for him. Then, our burner did not work so they relocated us to another table after I had my salad. It was not a relaxing dining experience. They would comp us a dessert fondue but since everything was delayed we did not have time for dessert. We got a gift card for a chocolate dessert for the future.

Got there, had to wait 15 min past our reservation, i had selected an add on for the table and that didnt happen. Not once did someone day that for 55 bucks a head we will give you a boiling pot of liquid to cook your food in. It was not worth the price. When my girlfriend asked the manager if we could have the bill adjusted as it took so long to eat what we had, we didn't have time for the dessert course he offered a free dessert card to be used at another time, she said no I dont know when or if we will be back, from that point the staff turned cold and rude. We will not be back. The manager made eye contact as we where walking to the door as we where leaving and quickly turned around with no thanks for coming in or have a good night, nothing but cold shoulders, horrid customer service.

My son got a prom package for $95 but didnt get all the food courses offered. His table had s new server so it was a bit chaotic. He was only served the cheese dish and meat dish no salad or dessert and it took 2 hours to just get the cheese and meat dishes. Very poor service and not worth the money. The restaurant took advantage of my teenager with an expensive package he didnt get everything agreed to. He asked for discount since he didnt get items and they said no discount. Never again will I recommend the melting pot to anyone. Poor kids left their hungry after $110 meal.

We always pick The Melting Pot for special occasions, but I don’t think we will anymore. It was my Daughter’s 13th Birthday and it wasn’t anything like it has been before. I ordered to have balloons at the table, but they weren’t there and I told the hostess that I had ordered them. But nothing! Big Lack of Customer Service at the get go. Also, I told our waiter many times it was her Big 13 Birthday and all she got was a very low key Happy Birthday. We also usually would get a souvenir picture to take home and a Birthday dessert, but again nothing. Our waiter had absolutely no personality and boring. I would think spending over $300 would give us something more special. So, after leaving my Daughter was crying. She said the start of her Big Birthday was a BIG letdown! We won’t be going back! Very Disappointed!

It was our first time at the melting pot and we were so excited! The food was wonderful as well as the service, the only down side was it was very hot/humid inside the restaurant. We were sweating before we even got seated. Our server was very kind and gave us recommendations which turned out to be wonderful. We left very full and happy

Was excited when I found out about the vegan options. I used to love this place before I was vegan and hadn't been since 2014. I missed Melting Pot so much.

We sat in a booth with a curtain around it. The inside of the curtain was filthy and covered in crust and white stuff. Like a dirty hotel bedspread....that's what it was reminiscent of. Needs cleaning. The whole both was crusty, my fork was gross and there was visible crust inside the cooking pot before any food had been added.

We never made issue of it becuse we were intimidated by the waiter. He chastised us when we said we wanted to order the vegan option. He told us we should have called in advance, and acted very put out.

I had called two separate occasions to verify that they had vegan options prior to my visit. They should have explained the need "warn" them that we would actually come in and order it.

I visited the website multiple times too. Never saw anything about that either. But he made it clear he was annoyed and put upon about the vegan cheese course. After that we were too intimidated by him to tell him how dirty the booth was. So we delt with it becuse we just wanted a nice night out.

The vegan salad was just lettuce. All they did was take all the topping off the normal salad and call it vegan. Total rip off.

The main and the chocolate were fine and the waiter got a better attitude around the that time too.

I'm no longer the fan of this place like I used to be. They really make you feel like "less than" for being vegan. We were chastised and we were given sub par salads with no effort. Making a vegan salad is probably the easiest vegan food to accommodate, but they just made lettuce and we felt ripped off.

For a $100 dinner some cleanliness, kind service and better quality on the salad would have been nice. I have emailed melting pot directly sharing my experience but got no response. This place was disappointing. Never again will we waste our money or time.

This was our first time to The Melting Pot, and we loved it. Everything from the staff to the seating was wonderful. Know before you go - if you are planning to have the full dinner - plan on it and come hungry!

We had the cheese fondue which was sooo delicious and a salad. We were full at this point, but how can you not have the chocolate fondue? That too, was delicious and worth it. We weren't hurried, so we had plenty of time to relax and enjoy the experience.

Took my fiancé to Melting Pot for her 24 birthday, I asked for something specia and among arrival the hostess called me up and acted like she had gotten some info wrong but really was telling me what they could do to make it special. We ended up in a booth with a curtain that blocked us off from everyone and they had put beautiful flowers on the table then to top it off they took our picture framed it and had it back to us before we even got drinks. Amazing

Our server did not tell how how to cook the meat, we had to ask. He mentioned he did not want to be there and he worked two jobs and after he gets off from his other job he “had to come to this stupid place”. He mentioned he was just kidding, but it was still a really odd thing to say. We asked the server who was serving the table next to us a couple questions and he was very nice and gave excellent pointers. Our server spilled every drink that I ordered so my glass was really sticky. Not a big deal, but it would have been nice to at least be passed a napkin. When I got seated he went to pass me a napkin to set my water on, but it fell on the floor. He picked it up off the floor and gave it to me. Again, not a big deal, and the floor wasn’t obviously dirty, but I personally thought it was odd for him to not get me a different one. Especially for such a nice restaurant. The fondue was great, however I did get one meat different than what I had ordered. I did not feel the need to mention this because I am always happy to try new things. I have been to this restaurant about 10 different times and I always recommend it. But after this, I just don’t think it was worth the $200 I spent. Our server dropped quite a few things and maybe he was just really outgoing, but my fiancé mentioned he thinks he might have been drinking. I do not want to accuse him of this as it is a serious thing, but that just gives you guys an idea of the service he provided.

We have been many times over the years but this time was not good… Our bill came out to $150 for four salads, cheese fondue and a chocolate fondue. Sadly, the chocolate fondue was quite watery and the portion was insufficient. there were four of us and we ordered five portions of the chocolate, it still came as a very small amount in the boiler.
I’m concerned that chocolate is being watered down and downsized to save money?

I’m not sure will be back, which is sad to say because we have loved the melting pot
