The Melting Pot - Nashville Ratings and Reviews
Food quality was not as good as previous visits. The chocolate was cold and thick. We waited 20 minutes for the chocolate to melt without the server checking to see if everything was ok. When this was discussed with the server his response was that he was completely unconcerned.
The Melting Pot is not your everyday dining experience. It IS an experience. And that is what we were looking for. If I were to go back I’d do cheese and dessert but I’m glad we did the full 4 course meal once. Server was very good, it was a little too dark for my taste in the area we were, but there were more well lit open areas in the restaurant.
This was my first time to a Melting Pot location and it might have been my last. I made a reservation for 5:15 for just 2 people in order to make it to a concert at 7:30. We were not seated until 5:40 (after another couple were seated that came in 5 minutes after us), then we did not have a server come (not even to bring water) until 6:10. We then let our server know we were going to the concert at 7:30 and he said he would get us out on time. Then we started our 4 course meal around 6:45, finally finishing at 8:15. We both ate quickly, knew what we wanted when the server came and wasted no time. Despite this, we were waiting upwards up 20 minutes after each course. The food was good but I could barely enjoy it because I wanted to be on time to my event. Lastly, the bill comes and of course it is expensive, as I expected but then I had to tip even though I wanted to write $0 due to the speed of service. Very disappointed that I missed part of a concert that I paid money for due to poor service.
I was very displeased with the long wait to receive our food first of all. Our server very rarely came to check on us, and we were left waiting constantly for drink refills. It took over half an our for dessert to be brought to the table, and our server told us she had forgotten after she had to seat other guests. The final bill was incorrect, and it took over half an hour for the manager to come and resolve the issue. For what you are getting, melted cheese and melted chocolate, the exorbitant price is not worth it, especially when coupled with poor customer service. We will not be returning.
