The Melting Pot - Nashville Ratings and Reviews
I’ve been to this location before and enjoyed it. This time we dined at 530pm on a Weds, not a busy time. Despite that service was excruciatingly slow. After we placed our cheese course order we waited 20-25 min. This was made worse by our waitress saying “I’ll be right back with your cheese” and then the long wait.
The long waits continued. I enjoy a leisurely meal, but 2.5 hours was excessive. Furthermore, I had told my waitress multiple times that we were on babysitter time and therefore wanted to enjoy our courses in a timely fashion.
I don’t know if they had understaffed or...but the anxiety and frustration about waiting for food really diminished my experience.
When our waitress had time for us she was pleasant and informative.
We had a great date night at The Melting Pot Nashville after having enjoyed Melting Pot locations in different states. We enjoyed our fondue choices and ended up not being able to finish everything. Our waiter Austin treated us very well and explained everything that we needed to know. We will definitely be back.
We had a great dinner! Our waiter did a good job explaining and serving but whomever was supposed to keep our table bused must have been off duty. Glasses and extra plated piled up and the table was making me cringe. Love the concept and the food was really good with plenty to choose from. It is very expensive but the experience is always fun!
First time customers, we had no idea how or what to order but waitress was very helpful, cheese fondue was very good, we didn't really care for cooking our own meat but that's part of the experience, the chocolate fondue was amazing. It is expensive so be prepared for that. Over we really enjoyed the experience.
The waitress was very good. She was polite, nice and quick. I know how to cook, but it would still have been much more helpful if she had told us which items are cooked first. Nevertheless, she did a very good job. The food was worth the money spent.
The booth table that we sat at should not be there. It is adjacent to the women’s bathroom; it is very close it to. It was a terrible experience sitting across the bathroom. We tried to eat as quickly as possible and we left because of that. For a such high-end restaurant they should not try maximize profit for profit. I would still go back and eat at the Melting Pot because the food is good and cooking it yourself is enjoyable. It’s just that whole row of tables need to be removed or bathrooms transferred to another side.
I recommend the Melting Pot for special occasions and when you have a couple of hours to spare. My wife and I really enjoyed the four course meal and being able to cook our own food. The food was delicious and quite filling. Our server was knowledgeable and fun to talk to.
This place is amazing! Every on edeln the host/hostess to the manager were great! Very professional.
Especially Joe (Joseph). He was awesome! I never feel like I am bothering the servers with my questions. It’s like they feed on sharing their knowledge.
I just love this place!
I’d like to preface this by saying that throughout all of this the staff was very courteous. But why do I keep coming back here? Having to wait 30 minutes past our reservation that required a deposit is unacceptable. Being served a lukewarm beer while my wife and I waited was just salting the wound. The overall experience tonight was comically bad. Do you guys get your menus from corporate or are they written in house? While we pondered over the “nustard powder” and the “black walnu vinaigrette” I powered through two of the worst cocktails I’ve had in my life, in the hopes that some alcohol would lubricate the rest of the experience. Alas, it was not enough to distract from remarkably gritty scallops and, somehow, weirdly gritty lobster as well. Not tough, as if we over cooked it— no, gritty. Sandy. Like it was seasoned with gravel.
The cheese fondue and chocolate fondue were the stars of the show. If you’re going to come here at all I’d advise sticking to these courses and nothing else.
The final offense of the evening was the check arriving with a 20% auto gratuity that was mentioned nowhere prior. In fact open table used the word “suggested”. Not mandatory or required.
Melting pot seems to me to be a restaurant almost doing things correctly. Just not quite. The staff is pleasant, accepting my friendly complaints throughout the evening with smiles and apologies, but ultimately taking no action. Melting pot is like sex with no climax. Like going to the zoo but none of your favorite animals are anywhere to be seen. Every time I dine here I marvel at how this is a successful business model.
A Monday night, empty restaurant, Valentine minimum for a child’s birthday, automatic gratuity for a waiter who never took to time to explain any of the cheese options or broths, without our asking. We have gone there many years for a child’s birthday, but this was the last. Mediocre service and over priced food for a party of 5.
Definitely Enjoyed it. The experience was just as good as the food as they prepared your fondue right at your table. Seeing it come together was amazing and everything was awesome. They have it down to a science and it all makes for a great time. Definitely worth the event!
Our server was new and it showed - handing salads across the table when there was access at all points - but pleasant. Again, my constant complaint, is when we arrive on time for a reservation on time don't keep us waiting and then have all the servers clustering around the host stand chit-chatting. The tables were available, so we assumed it was a staffing issue until all the chatting began.
