Went for restaurant week to try out melting pot. Service was fantastic. Cheese was good, the portion of dipping items was not very large, meat was good, dessert the yin and yang chocolate was amazing. Overall a little pricey but we would definitely go back for dessert.
Had a wonderful anniversary celebration with my wife and our kids. The food, service and ambience were fantastic!
Took forever to order and get our food. Extremely expensive.
This place is veryoverrated. My husband and I came for our anniversary and I was kinda disappointed with the amount and taste of the food. I also feel like We got jipped. I told our server I wasn’t feeling a salad, and he said “ok no salad, I’ll take care of it” ...... but he still charged both of us for a salad.... so we got charged for 2 4 course meals and only received 3 course meals. To top it off we didn’t even get a special “happy anniversary” message or anything.
So good! Server was excellent!
I would recommend, with some reservations, to meat eaters. I am a vegetarian, and if a person is vegetarian (and certainly vegan!) I would not be able to recommend this restaurant at all. The ambiance is great, the service was playful and efficient...but the food was very meh. At least in my experience. The best part of dinner was by far the chocolate pot which they customized for us according to our request. Other then that, the beer/blue cheese pot we got tasted VERY strongly of beer, and not at all of blue cheese, and the veggie platters would have been better if they were just vegetables. The tofu was dry and spongy, and the veggie 'balls' had no flavor. There are some amazing vegan and vegetarian restaurants in the twin cities that could have served the exact same platter and made it fantastic, so I know for the price melting pot could do better.
Went to celebrate our daughter's 16th birthday and the staff was amazing and food awesome. Always a great choice for a special occasion.
Great birthday dinner in a private booth
Great food. Fun experience. Little pricey for what you get.
The food was good and the waitress was very friendly but she was not informed of their promotion details. My fiancé and I were persuaded to go from an email the melting pot sent out advertising unlimited fondue, specifically saying unlimited cheese and chocolate as well as the entree meat. The waitress was completely convinced that the cheese and chocolate were not unlimited and I had to present the email to get the promotion which left both my fiancé and I embarrassed and annoyed. Please keep your staff in the know about your promotions. It shouldn’t be up the guests to inform the servers during their dining experience.
Wonderful experience for a friend's birthday. We did the four course experience and everything was delicious! Though personally, I would go back for the cheese and/or dessert and skip the meat. Our servicer was knowledgeable, drinks were not timely refilled but when we asked the host she immediately attended us. Will definitely be back!
Every worker was so nice and helpful. The food was good. It was a fun experience
My wife were looking forward to experiencing your restaurant for some time and showed up early and asked the host if we could possibly be seated earlier than our reservation... (Nobody waiting and State fair weekend so the restaurant not busy).... she seemed so frustrated... We eventually were seated, and waited for our waitress to finally see us sitting in our booth. First thing, the waitress asked if we have ever been there before and as soon as we excitingly stated that this was our first time, she actually made a “sigh noise” out loud. She seemed like she was having a bad day from then on...and was very short when explaining everything to us. We enjoyed our drinks and meal and I even a felt a little bad for her and left her a tip that she really didn’t deserve (The bussers gave us better customer service). For being our first adventure at your establishment and having high expectations, I’m sorry to say that I would consider it disappointing experience.
It was absolutely wonderful as always!!!!
Service was great and food was delicious. Our favorite is the cheese.
It was a wonderful night celebrate a lovely birthday dinner with my daughter and husband— thanks for making it special
You’re definitely paying for the experience the food was good, but the portions were small and I prefer to choose the tip I give my wait staff based on their service- having an added on 20% was annoying and actually stopped me from paying more.
Portions were incredibly small if I were to spend 30$ + at any other restraunt for just one entre it would have made me more than full - my husband and I got a salad, and entre and dessert and still left hungry. We did not expect to cook our own food and frankly think that’s a little ridiculous you don’t go out to eat to cook your own food. We will not be back and think honestly $200+ dollars spent was waisted for our anniversary at this restraunt because frankly we could have just stayed in cooked our own food and saved $200+ dollars. I mean my $35.00 entre contained 4 small squares of chicken 2 pot stickers and 3 shrimp it’s almost laughable what you get away with seems like a more of a scam than anything.
The cheese round was good. The entré round really suffered. We had one pot of oil and mix brought out and it boiled for 20 minutes before we could flag down a waiter to check on things. We had no meats to fondue yet and were missing our second pot. Our server arrived 25 minutes after he cleared our cheese round with two new pots and all of our meats. The meats were ok, the cuts of filet mingon were mediocre, the shrimp was the best, the chicken was fine. The dessert round was good, but nothing spectacular. All of this for the lovely price of $50+ per person and $5 parking. Definitely not worth the price, not worth the hassle of going downtown, and not worth the wait. Our dinner, which we expected to take a while given the process of the meal, took nearly 3 hours. Thats ridiculous. Our waiter did give our daughter a “free” piece of caramel cheesecake with our dessert as an apology for the long wait. It was nice, but we were later told by another waiter that the cheesecake was customary for birthdays anyway - so it really didn’t make up for anything. Overall a very disappointing experience that we would never recommend to anyone.
Fantastic food and service by everyone that worked there. So much fun!
Amazing experience! It was my wife’s birthday and they made it very special. Our waitress was exceptional! The food was incredible!
Ian was our server and he was the best! A nice experience! Plan for 1-1/3 hours of delight!
The Melting Pot is an experience as well as a tasty gluten free meal. This meal will make the diners become a team as you choose and prepare the courses together. I have eaten at this location twice over the past 5 years. The first time with great friends and the second time with my husband. This is a great place for an intimate meal that won't leave you feeling too full, yet extremely satisfied. There is no time to be on your phones because you will be too busy timing your fondue cooking. This leads to deep conversations and making memories. The best part is the chocolate! I only wish that they had an interactive timer on the table or in the booth so your phone could be completely off the table.
Love the atmosphere of sitting and having conversation together all while enjoying a fantastic meal. We love the Melting Pot!
They need to update there prices or put in more detail of prices on the website. I bought a champagne toast for my friends thinking it was 12 dollars like the website said. I was wrong. It was 12 dollars per couple. No where on the checkout part of their website does it say that. I was not happy.
I would recommend the Melting Pot as long as it is understood that the pricing is not cheap. The service was very good, easy to find easy parking and easy to get out of. Just be aware that you are paying 50 bucks for an 8 oz steak.
My daughter had her 16th birthday at the Melting Pot. It was excellent. Service was excellent. Staff was excellent.
I visit the melting pot usually 2 times a year . I love the fondue , and the foods alway great . The service is usually great too, but I was not to pleased this time around. Our waiter, was not only slow , but also just not to friendly. We had ordered our cheese and when he came out to make it , he made the wrong cheese, I can kinda understand a simple mistake, but then he spent 5 minutes trying to convince us to just have the cheese he made , and if at that point we did not like it , he would make us what we initially ordered. It was not until I directly said “ sir I really just want the cheese I ordered “ that he finally made it right , but not without a smart little remark under his breath. For the rest of our dinner he acted annoyed with us , he did not go over any of our food cook times , or the different sauces , we had to over hear and listen to a different waiter at the table next to us , explain the cook times and sauces . At that point I had wished we had that server . I have been here probably a dozen times now over the past 6-7 years . Usually it is a very nice experience, but not this time
Our server Ian was fantastic! He had a lot of great energy and was very pleasant. He made me feel very special as it was my birthday dinner! He sang beautifully too😊 He was very creative in finding an alternative to carry out boxes as the restaurant had run out. He made something so that we could take our food with us. Everything was delicious and he explained the menu well. Thank you, Ian!!!
Parents Christmas present
I love The Melting Pot. Great atmosphere, awesome food. We go here with our kids, as a date night, etc. It is a special place for my family. And, we are never disappointed! Time and time again I'd recommend The Melting Pot for somewhere different. It is not cheap, but it is worth the experience, and the food!
The food was amazing, but the server was overwhelmed and didn't explain much when it came to the portions.
Our waiter was fantastic!
Food was mediocre at best. Very confusing what to order and how to keep utensils straight.
I went to the melting pot for my birthday with some friends and the server was exceptional as was the food
Out for a girls night and stopped in for the cheese and the dessert courses prior to going to the lounge/club we were going to. This was a perfect amount of food for us and still had the experience of the restaurant for less than half the cost of the 4 course option. Highly recommend
Great experience ! Will be back very soon ! The food was good , the cooking style of doing it yourself was good ! & the service was great .
Brought my mom, sister and niece here for restaurant week. The food was fantastic and so was the service from Johnny. Great place to be interactive and have an overall great time
