The Melting Pot - Lyndhurst Ratings and Reviews
Food was great. Presentation was nice too. Restaurant was DEAD. It was late on a Sunday night and all the stores near here were closed already. I think that made for a quiet night. Our server only had our table and service could have been a bit better but It was decent. I was not happy that gratuity was automatically added to our party of 5. We are not teenagers, we would have left a nice tip but I hate when it is automatically added at a high percentage. Not sure I'd go here again. We live far away, I'll try the pittsburgh location next time. It has proven better in the past.
We’ve been going to Melting Pot restaurants in various states for years. I feel generally like the quality has gone downhill, as have the portion sizes. Our cheese wasn’t particularly tasty or well blended, and while we asked for and paid for the Great Lakes beer option, which is supposed to come with an “official” bottle (remains of which you can drink), we got a small portion of some indeterminate beer. Dessert pieces tasted heavily refrigerated if not partially frozen. I hope they can get their act together because when they are “on,” we really do enjoy MP.
Took my girlfriend here for her birthday, and it was a great choice. Large booths with tall backs so you actually get privacy from the surrounding tables. Service was incredible. The menu is a little complex, and our server took the time (3 times, because we had a lot of questions), to explain everything. Food was fantastic, and the cocktails were great (didn't skimp on alcohol). I would highly recommend for a special occasion, but not for a quick or cheap bite. Expect to spend good money, and allot at least two hours.
This was our second time at this location. We usually go to the one in Westlake. We use Groupon all the time for Melting Pot. We are very familiar with how it works and how the whole experience works. Our waitress started the evening arguing with us on how the Groupon worked. They then sent the hostess to inquire about how many portions of cheese our party of four would like. We were then told that with the cheese and the chocolate we purchased we would only get the initial dippers provided. We were there for three hours and not once were our drinks refilled, nor did the waitress offer to refill them. We LOVE Melting Pot and brought our friends because they wanted to try it after we had raved about it. We chose this location because it was an equal drive for us all. Never again will I suggest this location. I was not and am not impressed with the staff at this location. The food was still amazing!
The booth behind us kept kicking our backs the whole time we were there and the parents kept letting them do it. We did not say anything not to be rude, but the booths need not be so close together. Not the best experience we had. Food seemed to be rushed and the food we had on table was taken off before we were done?
My husband and I came to the melting pot to celebrate Seeetest Day. We were seated in a booth for 6 with 2 burners and felt like we were under a spotlight because of the bright lighting. It was definitely not the romantic dinner we had hoped for. We typically love the Melting Pot but after driving an hour to get there we do expect a better experience.
Food was good as always. However, we were looking to split and have been there many times and know the appetites of the three of us. We ordered one four course meal, and one shrimp a la carte. The waiter, Ben told us the a la carte did not come with anything, and we said that was fine, we knew. He asked who got the extra salad, which we didn't think was included. We were not going to order extra cheese or dessert, we were fine with what came with the four course meal. We ended up paying am additional $45 for a salad and 2 additional orders of cheese and dessert. I have been there many times and have always been asked if adding extra cheese or dessert, which we never do. We were not happy we were charged the extra when we never asked for it. I have been going to melting pot for years, but will request a different server next time.
Food not worth the price, ravioli were horrible do not recommend them. waited about 10 minutes at the host stand before anyone even saw us. Our server was good and attentive. They should really explain the app for two is double the price, we didn’t even realize and really didn’t need all that food.
Having been to the Melting Pot many times, I was excited to take my SO there to celebrate our one year anniversary. Unfortunately, this was the least satisfying experience I've had here to date. Our server was extremely unengaged: he didn't explain anything on the menu even though my date had never been there before; when he brought our food, he just dropped it off with almost no word; and he didn't check on us other than to bring out the next course.
My date was unimpressed, both by the service and the food, and couldn't understand why I liked the place so much. And based on this experience, it was difficult to justify.
There was simply NOT enough food! 2 pieces of chicken, 2 of beef, a cold water lobster tail (which was a large crayfish tail IMO), and 2 pieces of pasta??? The 3 potato, mushroom, & brocolli pieces parts really did NOT fill in the blanks (that was the Lyndhurst Special contents)!
Such a great atmosphere and ambiance, sad you have to stop on the way home to eat :(
It was our second time there and we recommend this place to everyone. Our waiter was really down to earth and really funny. He was perfect for this place. He was very knowledgeable and answered any questions. The lighting was nice. It was quiet and perfect for our wedding anniversary. The wait was a little longer then we'd had hoped, but we understand a busy Friday night.
The appetizer and desserts were good, but the rest of the meal consisted of boiling tiny portions of meat and veggies in a hot pot of broth. Soggy meat and veggies. Yuck. Service wasn't the greatest either. $100 for 3 people to eat self cooked soggy finger food. Won't be doing that again.
A great place for an anniversary, this is the third time we've celebrated one at this Melting Pot location. Great service, very quiet, and a great experience. Just a bit expensive for anything more than once a year or so for most, but that's also what makes it good for a special occasion.
Not a great experience, seated quickly, but then it was waiting for the rest of our dining. Waiter was slow, inattentive, no personality! Two of the four of us had never been and doubt any of us will be back. Very sad, but we will probably drive a little farther to the orher one. Kids running around, hanging out and making a mess in the bathroom, and loud. Sorry to say would give up the ambience at this one for all around better experience at the other.
We make the trip from North Canton to Legacy Village for the Melting Pot probably once every few months. We usually request a well lit booth , to have Angel as our server if available because we have the best experience, as she is a amazing server . However, this past Friday we had Brandon as our server. He left us without drinks for about 15 minutes twice , Angel actually stopped by our table to say hi to our son and asked Brandon to get us drinks we had asked for long before she came by. He never even seemed sorry for forgetting . We were brought 1 bowl of bread for 4 servings of cheese , I asked for a second bowl of bread when he brought the cheese out and we were left staring at the cheese without being able to eat it for over 10 min. He forgot the seasoning for the salad , we had to wave him down for that also. We were just amazed on the lack of service and his acknowledgment for his forgetfulness. We love the Melting Pot experience but will have to put in our requests when we place our reservation to never have Brandon in our future visits . This past Friday our experience was horrible and just wasn't relaxing as it always has been in the past.
Seated in what I can only describe as a closet in a corner with another couple right next to us. Boiled meat, couldn't finish it. Server made it clear to everyone in the restaurant that we were using a groupon and what it included(classy for our 10yr anniversary). When we received the bill the appetizer wasn't included as mentioned and were charged 2x the price listed on the menu. Your $30 groupon turns into a $100+ meal that really was laughable for what it is. We ordered chocolate fondue($8.95) and the enhancement for it($4.95), because at that point we only spent $6 for 2 drinks(or so I thought) Chocolate fondue was good, but we were charged 2x for it as well.... Be prepared to be shocked when receiving your bill.
