I would never go here for Valentines Day again!! They give you one menu for $150 per person with only selected items. I feel everyone should be able to pick their own food instead of them picking something for you. Complete turn off. I prefer to go there on a normal day. “Never a special occasion that everyone celebrates”

We enjoyed dinning at The Melting Pot. The negatives of our experience was the
server forgot to bring our champagne. We had to ask for it. We had to ask where
our server was. It took him 25 mintues to bring our chocolate fondue. I didn't like
that the gratuity was automatically given to the server instead of by how well he served us.
My daughter is a server so I am very aware of how hard they work and
I'm not a stingy tipper, but he did not earn his tip. His name was Michael. He started
out well but by the end it seemed like we were waiting for him. He never refilled our
water glasses. Also our table was very tight and somewhat uncomfortable.
That being said, I really enjoyed the food and ambiance. It was our first time dining
here and we liked the choices and the fondue experience. Would like to try again sometime.

We visited the Melting Pot for Valentine’s Day. On the phone, I was told the menu was set but we could ask for substitutions which turned out not to be the case. My partner doesn’t like seafood, but because we weren’t allowed to swap things out, I only had seafood and him the rest. At previous Melting Pot experiences, the service is nice and slow and allows for moving from one course to the next with just a little time between. This was not the case this time. Before we could finish one course, the next was there. It felt like our server was rushing us though she was very polite about it. The table was also a bit of an issue. In an attempt to make a more intimate setting, I assume, makeshift dividers were set on long tables to make two much smaller one. My partner and I were seating side-by-side facing a wall with nearly no room for elbows or to maneuver. The lighting, albeit intimate, was a little too low and made it difficult to see the menu or if the meat was cooked properly. That being said, the rest of the food and service was pretty nice. We got a gift bag at the end that contained a seasoning, two glasses, and a $50 gift certificate. In the end, will I return? Yes. Will it be on Valentine’s Day. Absolutely not.

The restaurant is very nice. It was divided very weirdly for Valentine's Day. The food was good as usual but still on the pricey side like it always has been. Great spot for a special occasion and very romantic.

Absolutely perfect for our early valentines day dinner. Server was attentive, engaged, and personable. Food was delicious. Takes a bit of time, 4 course meal took us 2.5 hours, but well worth it. Will go back.

I had a reservation for 8:00 and was not seated until after 8:40 and was seated directly next to the bar- extremely disruptive. We were eventually moved but it was a really disappointing experience in that regard. I honestly would not recommend it.

I have been to Melting Pot before and liked it but this time was not all that impressed. We went to celebrate Valentine's Day and while we enjoyed our evening out, neither of us were thrilled with our meal. The cheese fondue was good but the salads were not. It was the worst Ceaser salad I've ever had. The main course was just ok, as was dessert and our service. If we were to go again, we'd probably just do cheese fondue and drinks.

The restaurant has been good in the past. This time the whole experience was a bit less than I would require in the future given the cost.
Our reservation was at 4:45 for 6, 3 younger kids (well behaved) and 3 adults. We waited for 25 min before being seated. That’s a problem for me. If you take reservations, be able to accommodate them. If you find you’re often not able to, stop taking so many.
The staff was nice but gone for 10-15 minutes at a time. Had to ask busboys to find people for us a couple of times.
Food was ok. The cuts are good. No real complaints, other than it was less amazing than in previous visits.
Also, we just happened to be sat next to younger parents / kids and some teens with bad language. I asked our server to say something, and she did, but they laughed at her, and me, until I went over to talk to everyone myself. They were fine after that, but not really something I would consider “relaxing”.
All in all, we’ve come about 3-4 times per year for 3 years, but I doubt we’ll be back.

Although our server was great, the food was not. Also, restrooms in the restaurant were closed while we were there, so we had to go outside in the cold to use restroom. I have wanted to eat at the melting pot for 20 years, I finally made it and it was a total let down. :(

Disappointing experience. We had a reservation for 7pm on Saturday. We arrived a few minutes early and waited in a packed lobby. When I asked where the restrooms were they told me that they had had a pipe burst and were unusable. I was told I could go outside and down the escalator to a public restroom at the bottom of the escalators. By the time 7:30 rolled around we were frustrated. We asked why we hadn't been seated yet and were told that they seat bigger parties first. When we were finally shown to our table, we had one cooking pot, not two like we had requested. The seats in the booth were dirty and the floor under the table was littered with food. The service was okay, but not special. It wasn't the special occasion experience that we were expecting.

We liked the first time so much that we brought my parents. They loved it because they got explanations just like we did and how it worked and what to do. This time we brought my sons(14 and 16) and my sisters who also had never been. We came at a slow time so we could have another awesome experience and it was underwhelming. The explanations weren't there, the ideas and the process were just disappointing. We spent 389.00 dollars that night. It was just a bit of a dissappointment.

Our family came out for a fun family dinner and we were thrilled with everything. The food was delicious (can they bottle that gren goddess sauce?!?!) and we couldn’t even finish our chocolate! My only regret is that we didn’t ask for a to go box to save our dessert for later!

I have tried melting pot in California and food/service was pretty good. So, I reserved this spot to celebrate my daughter's birthday and experienced quite the opposite.

The server did not treat us very well, was not friendly, did not get us what we requested until we almost ended. Service can be a lot better. The servers can be friendly for non-white races too!

I grew up having fondue with my family and a neighbor family every Sunday at home. I love fondue and the time it gives for couples, or groups, to spend time together, enjoy each others company and conversation and not be rushed.

This expensive restaurant should have a non-McDonald, well trained, professional waiters and staff. We were received by a kido, nice, but not professional. The waiter looks like she came directly from Burger king to serve us. From presenting and explaining the menu to wine serving everything was mediocre.

My husband and I totally enjoyed our experience at the Melting Pot! Our server was very helpful in making our experience memorable. I love the partitioning between booths for privacy and the low lighting that made the meal feel more romantic. The seasoning on the food as well as the dipping sauces were unique and among the better things that I have ever tasted. (My only "complaint" is the price overall-- I would want to visit more often, but the expense I think is through the roof if there isn't any discount or help like a Groupon!)

A very unique experience. The vast varieties of foods to choose from are great! I'd recommend going for the cheese and dessert- much easier and more fun in my opinion! Very fun for a birthday dinner- despite the hefty tab!

We checked in early then watched as 5 other parties, who came in after us, got seated first. Our reservations were for 5:45. We got seated around 6:20. I went to ask the hostess why this was happening and she seemed to have no recollection of us checking in (although she did check us in and said we will be seated shortly). She then barely apologized, promptly had us seated, then we had mediocre service from our server. Overall, probably the worst experience we've ever had there. Looks like there are some management issues.

Food & atmosphere were great. But the service was terrible. There were 2 of us, seated at 4:30 to a half-filled restaurant, with a price fix menu (New Years Eve). We were there for almost 2 hours, due to our slow waitress. We waited for about 20 minutes in between the appetizer and the salads. Someone else brought the salads, so a good 30 minutes went by w/o even seeing our waitress. Why on earth would it be so slow with a fixed menu? We can say for certain it was just our waitress because the couple next to us arrived probably 45 minutes after us, but received entrees at the same time we did (and they ordered the same thing we did). It was an expensive meal, so I was pretty annoyed overall.

My fiancee and I are newly engaged and wanted to do a post-engagement celebration. We got engaged in NYC and all was well until the restaurant I chose to celebrate at in NYC forgot my request for a celebratory surprise dessert. Unfortunately, we went through that again but at the Melting Pot. They usually bring out a surprise dessert for our anniversaries but they didn't for our engagement. The only thing we received was a congratulatiry card from the hostess. Although the server was very friendly and food was delicious, this was very upsetting.

Our service was awful this evening. Server forgot to turn burners on to heat things up. He also brought our main course cooking oils and then didn’t bring the meats for at least 15 minutes. He explained nothing about cook times. Our glasses set empty numerous times. The bus boy asked us to clean up the dishes and pass them down to him once we were finished eating. We ended up clearing our own table, over burners that were still hot.

For dessert, the server served everything on cold burners. We asked if things were all melted and ready and he assured us they were brought to the table warm and all set. Al three dipping sauces for dessert were cold.
